It would be awesome if sony would introduce a dsp into these amplifiers . I know the have the gx line but the xm line has more power and quite a few more products in their line up . Great review though ! 👏
This is super helpful. I have the ES5 arriving any minute and am super excited to install. I love old school audio but am finally going modern and just keeping them for nostalgia as I am a big PPI guy. I am using this amp to power 2 sets of Hertz 2 ways, front and rear running at 4 ohm. The Hertz MPK 165.3 series specifically so four channels for those into the crossovers and finally bridging the sun to two 8 JL w3v3 at 2 ohm, single channel. All this is coming from the JL Audio Fix 82 DSP. This only has one set of rca outs, the Fix 86 did not exist when I purchased it but this is perfect for this as I can use the 1-2 input for all. I assume this would be a good setting if I just wanted to bridge the 5th channel? How do you like these amps? Really want the noise to be low and sound good. I will have plenty of power and turned down for what I need. 160amp is a lot of fuse for a 5 channel and most 5 channels only had 75x4 RMS. Thanks for the info, I am curious what you think of them after using for a while if you have.
Be cool if you did a video on setting up a 3 way set and set the crossover points and whatever channels you would use on the amp
I’m loving that 8 channel 🤤
