      X is the daily consumption of milk. People will drink 20,000 gallons + some gallons (because the question is "in excess of 20,000 gallons"). In question the gamma distribution parameters is given for 'excess of 20,000 gallons' not for '20,000 gallons' .
      Therefore we have to find the excess amount of gallons that is>20,000 .
      X= 20,000 gallons + some extra gallons
      let Y be the some extra gallons .
      X=20,000+Y --------1
      we have to find 'excess of 20,000 gallons'
      therefore we have to find Y
      From 1
      Y=X-20,000

    but in mmgt,gamma of 3 is 3! and gamma of n is n(gamma of n+1

      If n is integer then Gamma of n is n! . however for integer and non-integer n, we also have Gamma of n = n Gamma(n-1).
      Example:- Gamma(3)=3!=6.
      Gamma(3)= 3 Gamma(2) = 3x2xGamma(1) =3x2x1=6 .. Hope it clear to you.

    I think it would be better make separate video to each kind erlang in a separate video and so on. Great Thanks.

    Sir, In gamma distribution (1st kind) alpha>0 and also for Erlang distribution alpha> 0
    So what's the difference?

    • @DrHarishGarg
      @DrHarishGarg  2 роки тому

      See the special case again... For the integer part.

    • @sumitsana6170
      @sumitsana6170 2 роки тому

      Ok, in gamma distribution alpha take positive real values and in Erlang distribution alpha take positive integer values ,right?
