EcuTek Programming kit - how to get started for remote tuning

- Sup everyone! This is my attempt at making a helpful video on getting started with the ecutek programming kit.
Simple breakdown:
Download the ecutek app downloader here:

Plug in the deskey dongle (little USB thing) and then download the programming software specific to that dongle.
Lastly, a tuner will verify delivery of the dongle, add +1 license for your ecu, and prepare a base file to start tuning! :)

Love how concise this video is. I was wondering - can you do a video on Valet mode? Can we (end users) change the parameters/limits of the mode (like max speed, distance, power, torque), or is this something that only the tuner can do?
Howdy, if you tune with me, I can set up custom sliders, switches, and map settings and much more upon request. There are some limitations but the custom maps and user input are extremely powerful features on the OEM ECU with EcuTek

I have no tuner near me and no dyno is there a way I can tune my car?? I need help
Yes, Ecutek allow remote tuning over the internet. You'll want to try and find someone (probably a company) that has tuning expertise with your car. They should be able to either send you a canned tune that will work for your mods (if any) based on their experience. Alternatively, they'll have you drive the car and log data in the Ecutek software, which you can send them to help build a good tune that works.
So no dyno tuning? Never going to know what your new tune makes for power? How are you going to know if you're making any more or less power?
We dyno tune all the time! Since we specialize in the VQ's and VR's our street tunes are often extremely close to final dyno numbers. Timing and fuel control can only vary so much on the same engine. Should an end user want to get numbers, they need only contact their local dyno shop and rent the machine for an hour to get a few pulls in measure power output
street tunes can be pretty darn good. Most cars have a torque PID you can log. you can calculate HP from torque and can actually get a graph like a dyno. It's not an actual 1 to 1 torque reading but it can help you just like a dyno. Plus, no 2 dynos read the same. You also get better driveability with street tunes. A dyno is for high power low traction vehicles. Builds you can't easily control on the street since the pull has to be performed in a 1 to 1 gear (preferably).

The Bloh, Bloh, Bloh, part got me because the key steps are important.. I wish I could figure out how to make my own map.. No one has any vids on that.. It's all email and Map flashes and Cross finger's that Some stranger you gave your money too is going to give you a good Tune and walk you through what to do... I've watched 8 different Vid's on ECUTek and still don't want to hook a laptop up to my car and Roll Dice... I was DYNO tuned. But all the guy did was Flash a Map That sucked... I ened up stabbing the shite out of the Ref Line going to Boost solenoid, and the other going to wastegate controller. Finally making good power.. LOL.
Any luck on this? Im used to tuning my own car and making changes as I need and not sure I can do that with ecutek or uprev
Sounds like you just need a more experienced tuner on the platform! Unfortunately you will not be able to edit your own maps unless you make the financial investment in the tuning suite from ecutek
@@Wigwhom86 uprev will allow you tune your own car for much less that ecutek. However, EcuTek's tuning suite is far superior with ECU based boost control, flex fuel integration, custom mapping, and program stability.
@@vpftuning5417 thank you, im coming from the honda world using hondata flashpro and im comfortable with being able to editing my own tune. ecutek seems like the move and their table layout looks familiar
Do you need a tuning license to tune the car yourself with the EcuTek tuner?
You would have to purchase the 370z tuning suite which is around 2000USD after converting from british lbs. Then you will have full access to modifying rom files.

Get the base files, do some 3rd 4th gears pulls until redline, send back the logs to the tuner. Of course you need to be logging it during the pulls
