In safe zone great pikes are so good but idk why outside of safe zone I always use a boarding axe. It makes u feel safe cause u know that 70 damage is out there to scare the opponent. I think a part of what makes the boarding axe so great is it’s psychological factor. No one wants to lose 70 health
@@carnex13 basically. I do believe that first hits in melee fights are the most important. If I hit someone with a great pike once and they have the option to escape they might try to block the next hit and counter me. If someone gets hit by a boarding axe and they have a escape route I’m almost sure they will take it. With that time I can heal myself or my teammates. But yeah if he is really experienced and good at blocking I’m definitely screwed.
You see, the true best strategy is using /fall to make people think you have bled out, but only have it done for about 2 seconds so you can easily get up and kill them while still being enough time to to make them put down their weapon.
The Bayonet became more complex after the stamina debuff a few months ago, but it is still a viable weapon and is (with a lot of practice) a good dueling weapon. They can be very effective against Boarding Axe player in engagements, You can get almost four consecutive Hits out of them if you regain stamina the most effective way possible, and are very deadly if you learn how to spin. They are typically better for flat open areas like the area around Fort Rupert, Southern Fields, Plains of Abraham etc. This is why you will see most bayonet players with a boarding axe for in a hill fight on Twin Peaks or Patrick's Peak. There are still a lot of bayonet players like myself (King_WenceslausII), masterfire012, SquawkaZ etc. (I'm HBC so I know mostly HBC, but I know plenty of non-HBC use them). Getting around blocks is easier again if you learn to spin. Spinning helps you land hits more easily, it also can confuse your opponent.
The bayonet tricks were certainly more empty, spinning wasn't even mentioned (lol). So I decided to make this comment just to fill the viewers in more on the bayonet.
I've been using the bayonet for a long time, and I tend to beat many opponents who use different Weapons, it cant block but it is still the only weapon that it 2 that has 3 hits at your disposal, if you know your hitbox and know when to use your shots, you will tend to beat many opponents, in duels , even though it was nerfed it is still "an elegant weapon for a more civilized age" ;)
Most underrated weapon. Superior knife. Its actually really good if you master the hit box, managed to kill 2 people that were fighting me in a 2v1 with just the knife. No bandages. Its a really good weapon to counter bayonet or boarding axe. Actually it counters all weapons. Except for the spears, it's dog shit against spears
I have a really bad self defense skill lol I was mining and getting more iron ores for trading and minding my own business, then players surprisingly attacking me and i always lose in a fight I want to know how to defend myself?
hello i've got in some sort of trouble on northwind, i found myself banned undefined for "harassing players", i would really like to talk about it if you have just one minute
its only temporary, they found a bug where u could basically instakill w/ the pike so they had to nerf it to prevent that from happening, but the pike will be back to 40 damage in next update w/ the bug patched
That intro hit me with so much nostalgia, great vid btw
"Now, We've got the gayonet."

its all well and good using axes like that outside sz
but once you're up against an experienced fighter
you're royally screwed

@@carnex13 but then again if he’s so good I probably would have been dropped before it comes to melee fights
@@carnex13 most people just run away after being hit once by the boarding axe. It’s simply too risky to block when ur low.
hello jerry yaeger the banished
Thanks for that intro a bit of my childhood kicked in when I heard that
I love the boarding axe, and yeah i do the fake attacks just sometimes they fail since the axe takes a long time to swing

last part actually made me laugh

all people use rn are great pikes and stone spears
i once killed a guy with a knife only and he had charleston musket a knife and 20 bands and i had only 5 bands at that time i mastered my stamina bar
Very helpful tutorial
Homies got 60 FPS when I duel with 8-12 FPS. I guess a toaster ain't enough. :L

@@carnex13 ok I'll try it, thx
You forgot a rule: dont swing ur weapon right at the start
Bayonets are only good for causing your opponent to bleed and then you just go to town but I don’t use it since I only play the game for the duels lol
They buffed em now.
