  • FlavourFuel Bakes EP5 - a high Protein Mac No-cheese! As a Jamaican this is a dish we would normally have a side but not that I’ve beefed up on the protein content I would definitely serve this recipe as a main alongside greens, jackfruit, or crispy roasted chickpeas 💛✨
    Recipe below:
    Main/Meal prep - 6 Servings
    Side - 8 Serving
    Ingredients
    430g yellow pea macaroni @zenb_uk
    1/2 onion
    1 tomato
    2 garlic cloves
    1 sprig thyme
    3-4 tbsp nutritional yeast
    349g silken tofu
    200g extra firm tofu
    1/4 cup plant milk
    1 tsp onion salt
1 tsp + 1 tbsp all purpose seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)
    1 + 1 tsp smoked paprika
    1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
    2 tbsp tapioca flour/starch
    1/2 vegetable stock cube @kallo
    2-4 cups cheese @violife_foods
    Salt to taste
    Directions
    1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
    2. Cook pasta according to packet instructions and set aside.
    3. In a baking tray, add 1/4 cup of oil along with the onions, tomato, garlic, thyme, 1 tsp all purpose seasoning, 1 tsp smoked paprika and place into the oven for 10 minutes until the vegetables are lightly browned.
    4. Meanwhile, add the silken tofu, firm tofu, plant milk, nutritional yeast, onion salt, 1 tsp all purpose seasoning, 1 tsp smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, vegetable stock cube, tapioca flour to a blender and blend until smooth. Add salt, pepper and adjust seasoning to taste.
    5. Remove the baking tray from the oven and mix in the cooked pasta. Then pour in the mac sauce and mix until well incorporated. Top with plant cheese and place back into the oven for 20-25 mins or until the cheese has melted and is lightly browned.
    6. Remove from oven and allow to sit for 15 mins before serving.

Hello! Great recipe! You can also make chickpea pasta which adds more protein to the dish n have that instead of the macaroni

@@Cumulusly be careful of the misinformation. It doesn’t have oestrogen but it does have phytoestrogens which is a plant compound. We aren’t plants so it doesn’t have the same impact. Otherwise lots of people would be eating soy instead getting boob surgery 😆

@@jensplantbase I saw a yt short that talks about the use of soya beans in food, it said the oestrogen present in soy functions the same way as the hormone present in human. Didn't question it, but maybe you're right who knows. Im not exactly versed in plant or human biology.

What do you mean? Asking because rather have more people eating this then eating meat. Because all protein is the same protein I'm guessing. Idk
