I didn't play the first game but I do play a lot of vermintide 2 (almost 900h in) and seeing how many lines there are in the first one that didn't make it to vermintide 2 is actually quite sad. Examples: recovery from packmaster, being targeted by gunner. We had to wait almost whole year for missed grenade lines, also ult voice lines cutting dialogue between characters is bad too.
The missed grenade lines were there at release, then again, V2 was pretty buggy, a lot of the dialogues didn't trigger properly Right now I hope they bring back the grimoire dialogues.
@jumpers Better yet: a mod that replaces every model in the game with Victor Saltzpyres of various sizes, shapes and voice pitches. Imagine chaos spawn Saltzpyre. Pure terror.
I have 800 h in V2 and i consider that it's a shame that v1 had to die for a lesser version of itself, considering that for almost the entire first year of v2 the game was barely working or with some content to play with. V1 is way superior in every artistic dimesion over v2 and considering that some maps in v2 now can have weather effects it really shows that they should've waited for more time in development to even reach the level of detail in v1

The dwarfs didn't know about Malekith betrayl and they were simply asking for apologies about the dark elves raids on their lands. And what the phoenix king did instead of disowning those attacks? He raged against the dwarf ambassador, cutting his bear. The dwarfs asked the elven king to apologize SEVERAL times before attack. All of that bloody conflict happened simply because of the high elves petty pride.
The only reason I can think of for him not doing it is because Bardin has proven himself to be a very unusual dwarf, what with him being very open about aspects of Dwarf culture and being by far the most cheerful of the Ubersreik Five (Or four, doesn't matter). Let's not forget the moment where he suggests that grudges be put aside until the greater threat is dealt with, which would be pretty much the ultimate heresy to any other dwarf.
I always liked how genuinely intelligent Salts is underneath his zealous devotion to Sigmar. He has a very accurate bead on everyone around him, to the point that in Vermintide 2 it’s confirmed he can beat the elf at her own game of observation, as well as a detailed knowledge on every one of humanities enemies, as proven by his description of the Skaven being more than just simple killers. Obviously it’s his job, but credit where credit is due - he does his job VERY well.

We do, it's just that it's fewer in between. At the cost of completely improving every single aspect of the sequel gameplay wise such as adding talents, weapon effects and different classes for each hero, I think I'll take that tradeoff. Though, keep your hope about you. Bardin's engineer voice lines being almost completely different fares well for the future.
The vibe is so haunting. They joke, banter and bicker about the small things and rumors while the whole world around them is being consumed and they don’t fully realize it. I love these games
5:26 - Huh that's weird, I never knew that Waterfront had any unique dialogues. Hell I never knew KRUBER could initiate any stage unique dialogues at all. During literally my entire playthrough Kruber couldn't initiate any stage dialogues in all of the base game stages (only DLCs), and among the base game stages, Waterfront, Smuggler's Run, and Enemy Below seem to be completely bugged and have no dialogues at all that's unique. Could it be a console related glitch? I know this is 4 years old, but anywhere I could hear any unique dialogues in those specific 3 levels?
Are you going to continue making these dialogue videos? I would love to see a Waylaid dialogue comp since I don't own the first game and these videos are great for catching up with lore.

It kind of annoys me how Bardin says they've been fighting skaven for a millennia and "The elfs kind have probably been at it longer", thats bullshit. Skaven are a new race and they didnt originate anywhere near the elves, it was between men and dwarfs that the skaven originated. Stop giving elfs credit for shit.
Yeah, humans were actually the first race to fight the Skaven. But since then, they mostly fought dwarfs. And orcs. And other skaven. Occasionally the elves and Skaven will fight, though. Especially wood elves. Presumably Bardin was just wrong about that and assumed that though they first encountered the Skaven in the Age of Calamity, they'd been around longer.
In Lore, Louen is presumed dead when his bastard son strikes him down and the Green Knight comes and reveals he is Gilles Le Bretton; so you have Malobaude (vampire or something that can raise the dead and fight, is never clear) and Gilles two undead wanting to be kings.
This elf has a big mouth for a species that claimed to try everything to save the world of Warhammer Fantasy, but in the end just cobbled under the shade and hoped Chaos would find going into their woods boring... Oh, and for being part of a race that had to be reworked several times over in the TW: Warhammer series before the developers just gave up and gave them broken stuff so people would play them without skipping turns for 85% of the game. Ah yes, and having the need of Bretonnia to keep them safe from pretty much anything in the West. Yes, hard times for the Wood Elves. Much charm there. Much fluff and purpose. If I were Saltzpyre, I would have shot her in the back on the second mission...
wood elves were one of the most powerful table top races, and lorewise was the last bastion of order in the old world where they made their (failed) last stand and manfred bretrayed them all. I am afraid they have every right to be arrogant.
watching this I realized how badly VT2 fuked up the voices...I mean if you move 3-4 meters away from the team the dialogues just cut, or whenever you use an ulti the dialogue cut, you throw a bomb and cut, and there is less interesting things they say....easily lazyshark could implement some voice lines from the first game (or even maps) ...and I remember pinging an item or enemy made the hero call out the name of the thing, and now they say nothing just when they are close to the item...also in the taal's keep Lhoner only talking about castle drakenfels all the time...he had different lines in the past, where those gone? so much untapped opportunities...sooo much....and what fatlazyshark do? of course start to make a new vermintide reskin game called darktide....instead of fixing and improving vt2!!!

Hell, Rogue Trader originally played around with the idea of just being literally WFB in space, with a quote saying that the emperor was given power "by the will of the gods", as in, the human gods of the warhammer world Now all of that has been scrapped, in favour of this sorta meta-verse where Fantasy, AoS, 40k and possibly GW's older games like Dark Future and Chainsaw Warrior share a common separate eternal super-hell that connects them all and seeks to destroy it all
