ICON i60L Golf Cart - Plows through Snow in Houston, TX

- I had to take my ICON i60L golf cart out for a spin in the snow!
A freak snow storm hit Texas in February 2021 which contributed to 4 inches of snow in my neighborhood.
The i60L is a 6 seater lifted version. I upgraded to a larger size tire so I have 2 extra inches of lift. I also added a USA Pyle Bluetooth speaker system and running lights under the chasis and under the roof top.
Golf cart racing in the snow is fun!

This is common for everyone who lives north of you I take mine on the lake ice fishing daily in sub zero weather

By the way, there is an electronic regulator on the carts that keep them from going faster than 25mph. This makes them street legal in most communities as recreational vehicles. The dealer I bought mine from tweaked my cart to give me more tourqe on take off and up to 5mph extra for going up hills.

How happy have you been with your icon at this point? Been contemplating buying one but still iffy about it being a new brand name
We love it!!! They are all pretty much the same. Same batteries , wheels, seats, etc...just different styles. I loved the look and price. You can add so many additional features like better wheels, sound system, running lights. It was worth the investment. Just took the famliy out for a stroll yesterday.

Dose your ICON constantly squeak from the rear roof pillar or rear seat support? I have the same cart and I am trying to track down the constant squeak so I can fix it.
No. But I can tell you....I do go off roading with mine. It's the reason I got the upgraded wheels. Honestly, my knobby tires make so much noise when driving....it would be hard to hear a squeaking sound. Plus I play my music on the Pyle subwoofer I added so my vehicle is loud when we are riding it.
@@ckammerdiener I found the fix. The four lower bolts at the base of the uprights need to be tightened a lot with a 13mm ratchet and wrench.

Do you have any experience with the engine assisted braking down steep hills?
It does have electromagnetic brakes so it will break when you take your foot off the accelerator. Even when the vehicle is turned off...the brakes are engaged. There is a toggle switch that can release the brakes if you want to push it...like into your garage. I have never taken it down a steep hill...but I am sure that the electromagnetic breaks would be strong enough to stop it even without pushing the breaks. This is one of the benefits the ICON has that I really liked when I purchased. Great breaking system.

How much did you end up paying for it?
I live in The Woodlands and i’m looking into buying an i40L.
I paid $13,000 for it. Base price was around $11,000. I upgraded the tires for an extra 2 inches. I also added running led lights under the chasis and also under the roof. I added a Bluetooth Pyle Speaker system. I also had the speed modified to hit 30mph. Your dealer can change the speed and tourqe.
