I'm so grateful to find you online. I am not a witch nor a musician however I have always been pulled a certain spiritual connection. I was informed only about 5 years ago that I am related to Mary Toups. She was from Meridian MS. My mother was adopted and we now know her family. Elvis is my 5th cousin and Mary is also a close cousin. I am also related to other witches from the area. One resided behind my school. It's a school that was our church and I think my adopted grandmother loved them but didn't allow the weird judgemental southern Baptist to know. I, as a child would long to play on the play grounds and run to the back to watch the women's that I now know was a witch and a relative. I have always been spiritual and different. Specially in this stupid backwards town. I love your information and thank you.

We need a book on playing cards recommended. I had someone read the playing cards much earlier. I would really like more information!

Interesting about the different contexts of the word Witch, Wicca, etc. In the Thai Occult and Saiyasart Magical lineages the practice and knowledge of one lineage is called Wicha!

Is it possible to practise at the same time both, Alexandrian and Gardnerian?

Not sure what the point would be. I suppose it is possible to be a Catholic and a Protestant but its seems rather time consuming and conflicting in some ways. Good Covens leave little time!

It seems that the stang has always been apart of the occult and with witches and i mean before cochrane. though the stang how it is used now( to represent the devil) is not how it was used along time ago and most likely wasnt called a stang. We see this in old woodcuts showing witches flying on stangs or standing in a circle with one.

    • @HexEducation

Yes its still a common walking stick in ireland and wales. In the craft it was used to represent horns the devil is in the details but that is really a current trend. You will however also find Hades, Pluto and Serapis with a two pronged pitch fork. It has its roots in the pre-christian past.

the stang you often see in woodcuts is a wooden fork for turning hay

@@apclericus you know, ive always wondered that! The old craft was very much based around agriculture especially folk magic of the west countries.

@@apclericus yep a pitch fork proper. Sometimes they rather look like sticks if u ask me ;)
