    today’s my first day of my 24 week build up to the longest run of my life.. the Monumental Marathon

      THAT is a great race CH. I took 5th there in 2011, fast and flat course and the perfect time of year in Indianapolis. You picked a good one

      @@rundreamachieve I just raced my 2nd half marathon at the Indy Mini. The thought of racing double the distance is so so nerve wracking, yet exciting. Looking forward to pushing my body and mind past its limits in training

      You have the right mindset and you are going to have a superior effort in November for sure

    Today I did something for the first time that could potentially revolutionise my training. I set my watch to display cadence only, turned off auto lap, and just ran off feel. For long sections of the run I worked a little on my technique, but more importantly I just enjoyed running instead of constantly looking at my watch.
    Comparing the data, post run, I kept my heart rate lower than usual, so it appears to be a useful approach.
    Would love to hear from a professional as to the pros and cons of technology.

      @rundreamachieve  Місяць тому

      I think changing the sections is always good and not just sticking to pace or HR..going off of "feel" is usually the safest bet but, of course, there are times and places for the other metrics as well. Keep up the superior work and look forward to hearing about your upcoming new PRs

    Good stuff! Did you hear about 61yr old Brittish runner Steve Edwards who just completed 1,000 official marathon races with avg time of 3:21 and no DNF's.(annihilated prior avg time world record of 4hrs) He worked in IT traveling to races year round and ran 87 marathons one of the years. Unreal durability

    Hey coach, I just ran the mile test for PE today and I got a time of 8:02, I’m really happy to run that and it’s my fastest time yet, anyway I have a question about tempo runs. I’ve heard the pace should be 1minute above your best mile time but I was wondering for how long time/ distance wise I should be workout out on the treadmill at that pace!

    • @rundreamachieve
      @rundreamachieve  Місяць тому +1

      That is correct, tempo pace should be about 1 minute slower than your best mile time pace...since your training for the mile..3 to 4 mile tempo is sufficient and will really make you strong over 1609m.

    • @Dinokidrock2nd
      @Dinokidrock2nd Місяць тому +1

      Thanks! I will add those to my tempo runs. Any suggestions for any other type of workout like long runs and easy runs for my mile? I’m still a bit of a noobie lol

      go to the search tab on my channel and type in "mile tips" or "1600m". Made a lot of videos on this topic. Good luck with your training, you are going to do awesome

    Hi coach , I ran my 1st marathon in April , PB my 3rd half last week at 1:34. Should I train to get sub 1:30 in October for a half marathon and save my next marathon for spring 2025, or shall I go for another marathon in October instead of a sub 1:30 attempt on the half.. in two minds what my best way to proceed is

    • @rundreamachieve
      @rundreamachieve  Місяць тому +1

      I'd go for the full, work on another half PR in 2025 and a marathon later in the end of 2025. Well done and keep up the great work Callum! 💪💪💪👊
