New to Dublin in 1980. Every week in the Lower Deck Portobello I went to see these great men entertain us. Facing Level 5 lockdown.....40 years later I'm still in this great City. I am so lucky to be here among these great people at this difficult time. There is no better City and no better people. I'm here to get a morale lift from this great group.
My mother is fae Glennfinn. Co.Donegal Eire n my father fae Kelty, Fife Scotland. I grew up with this band n many more Irish n Scots music legends. It amazes me I can find anytin I want via youtube. Many songs dat would mak many a hard man cry!!! Words cannae express my gratitude for the masters whom created such a wonderous tool to find whatever you want eh. Slainthe Mthar
They were a mighty group in their day. There is no doubt, Patsy Watchorn made them. He was the first fellow who ever sang this song, away back in 1976. I'm amazed, how young he looks in this clip.
Could you fill me in on why Kevin and Phil left? And later Patsy? I have this concert on tape. I Watched it yesterday for the first time in almost 20 years. I always thought they were a great band, and didn't get the correct amount of fame they deserved.

Absolutely, thank you.
and a gentleman
I like him. But do not forget Luke Kelly and Ronnie Drew.
@@wilfriedschuler3796 All singers in the Dubliners were in an higher league. Including Sean Cannon. As well Al O‘Donnell.

I wonder what Patsy thought when he heard his idol Luke Kelly singing his song? No one did it better than Patsy, so much character

Pity they had a rather acrimonious parting of the ways.

@@09TheWex They were nice guys to hang out with, both in Dublin and New York. And to Shrek Swamp I'm still around.
