I first heard this song when an old friend that I had not seen in awhile picked me up from the mainland ferry to stay with her the weekend. It was pouring rain and she had just got a new sound system in her car with bass. I'll never forget that feeling of being so relaxed and connected. The look of the lights glowing in the raindrops on the windshield or how she looked so pretty in the rear view mirror smoking a cigarette and blowing the smoke out a crack in the window.
That is so poetic. Much love. Keep being analytical; the world looks better this way.
Wow that’s beautiful
😢 ❤
Thank you so much for
this. 🖤
Love vivid memories like that
This song gives me one of those nostalgic gut punches that make you feel like you saw your best friend from middle school for the last time.
I literally just read the comments to see if someone else had experienced that feeling of nostalgia, yes this song is definitely magical
Very much so. I'm fortunate enough to be friends to this day with a few amazing souls from the age of 3 in kindergarten.
Yea it feels happy and soothing in a way but it feels bittersweet/melencholic, almost like your lonely or missing something but you know everything is ok in the end
why am i crying
@@quincylinder9738 i met this girl from Bavaria that came to Nigeria beginning of 2024 to biuld our first ever skate park here, i fell really hard for her after only like two solid weeks of spending almost everyday together. Finally the project was done after like a month and she left back to Germany, This song has made me cry every single day i play it even by accident because she played me this video for the first time when we were comparing music taste on one beautiful day and i just dont understand how a song can really carry alot of weight in control momentary emontions.
“wild winter, warm coffee, mama’s gone, do you love me? blazing summer, cold coffee, baby’s gone, do you love me?”
these lyrics will always be special to me. when i used to listen to this song in high school, my mom would often be gone for months at a time to take care of my grandma in florida during the winters and during the summers i went away to camp. during the times when we were in the same place though, we always had coffee together in the morning and it was time that i cherished.
Thanks for sharing. This song makes me think of life as a series of beautiful imperfections.
Really enjoyed your coment
*Mind's not mama's
@@deescobie9696 lmao u ruined the whole comment now
I can’t believe I’m just now finding this masterpiece! Goosebumps, and on constant repeat ❤
You should also listen to hey mami
I agree I think the Audio and Visual is orchestrated at a master level. I think this breaks the standards and this is what I do.
This used to be my alarm clock song but like all alarm clock songs you eventually hate it. I have un-hated it now though, it's all good guys
Alex Fisher so true lol
Mine was Boys Don’t Cry by The Cure
Omg!! So do I! I use to love this in 2015-16
I did that with go-common
T
Laurent took this song and add a plus to the art. LOVE LOVE
I found this song because of Laurent!
I fell in love with this after seeing it on Conan. I have no idea what she's saying, no idea what those sounds are, but it works. I'm jamming to this. It's different. Different is needed
Me too...I was asleep doing the TV watching me kind of thing and I woke up to it. I love their quirkiness--her weird dancing and his one piece of a machine making that lovely music. On Conan it seemed more of a "naked" version---but I think I found a new album to buy. Yeah!
Exactly! Everything you said is why I love it. I live for quirky different shit. It's the kinda jam you awkwardly dance to on a rooftop while smoking a joint
Isaiah Parker saw it on Conan and came to check her out. She is nice!!!!
Hell yea man! That's where I seen it, and exactly what I thought!
Saw them open for Foster the People last night in L.A. and kinda like them, though we also couldn't understand a thing she sang.
THIS IS FIRE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
WHO'S LISTENING IN 2024⁉⁉
"Get up get down" kills me
Ikr, it's exactly what happens every day when I wake up 😅
ikr
Everybody knows one must down in order to get on up. One need not be George Clinton to know that this the first principal of funk.
"I know my words will dry upon the skin" one of the most emotionally powerful line of lyrical genius I've heard in a very long time...
❤
It’s a great song we deserve it
why is it genius?
this video is so organic. the people are not models, they are beautiful in a very average you and me sort of way. their dance moves aren't all that impressive, but there is sincerity behind them.
Compared to me, most of them look like super attractive super models. Yeah, pal, I am playing life on Ultra Nightmare... At least I can listen to good music. 😢
Wild winters, warm coffee
Mom's gone, do you love me?
Blazing summer, cold coffee
Baby's gone, do you love me?
Something about these lines makes me so happy every time.
I have a new favourite song.
And it really sounds like coffee, like something that I drink half asleep, something warm, sweet and bitter.
My favorite song, I can listen to it 100 times in a row and find something new and delightful
Laurent from Les Twins @lestwinsoff brought me here. He brought even more beautiful light to this song in his most recent freestyle - Juste Debout judges demo in Stockholm🙌🏽🙌🏽💜💜
Lol me too
🙌
Laurent brought me here also. When he dances, he makes you feel the music just as much as he does and the way he interpreted dance with this song was magical!!!
Said it all. So beatiful
I love Lau and Larry. They are amazing!
why is this song ahead of its time tbh. This will always give off such a unique blend of sounds that the beauty of it will last for years. amazing
Only discovered this band this year and I am obsessed. Song of this year for me.
that scene in good girl's guide absolutely broke my heart, I started to crying and felt how inevitable the future was...💔
Haven’t had a good cry to a show in forever until this one came along. Just so perfect and beautiful. 💗
Life was so good when I was a kid. When I used to hear this song I miss hearing it as a kid and just my childhood
When I am 100 years old I will be in concert, watching this couple perform, knowing that so few others of any generation have lived to see how improved life has become in 2073.

LYRICS:
True, it's dance, we know the moves
The bow, the dip, the woo
Though the words are true
The state is old news
Wrap me in your arms
I can't feel it but
Wrap me in your arms
I can't feel it but
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Feel the turn of rotation and stop
See the next one waiting
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Get up
Sentiment's the same but the pair of feet change
I know my words will dry upon the skin
Just like a name I remember hearing
Wild winter, warm coffee
Mom's gone, do you love me?
Blazing summer, cold coffee
Baby's gone, do you love me?
Wrap me in your arms
I can't feel it but
Wrap me in your arms
I can't feel it but
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Feel the turn of rotation and stop
See the next one waiting
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Get up
Sentiment's the same but the pair of feet change
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Feel the general attention
And stop, see the mix won't work
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Get up
Sentiment's the same but the pair of feet change
My baby does the hanky-panky, baby
My baby does
(Rock me)
My baby does the hanky-panky, baby
(In your arms)
My baby does
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Feel the general attention
And stop, see the mix won't work
Get up, get down
Get up, get down
Get up
Sentiment's the same but the pair of feet change
you're the real mvp
you are the mvp of three worlds
+Le Dan Theman Playlists you're the mvp of the underworld
Richmond Wills You are the future Most Valuable Player of the underworld and more!
As far as I can tell, it's: "Feel the turn of rotation and stop. See the next one waiting." for every chorus.
Not 'general attention/mix won't work.'
It's hard to find a singer these days as beautiful as she is with equally beautiful vocals! Her voice and style really reminds me of the 50's era music when having good vocals really mean't something!
Very true
Again, wow. This woman’s a force. Love her and this energy they are putting out! Edit - after many listens, this art has helped me positively move forward with some hard stuff I’m dealing with. Music can be so very healing when we are open to receive it. Thank you to all the artists from my heart.
This is a masterpiece, this song brings me in such a special mood, like I'm on an other planet. Like really, you should listen this when you're stoned. This will be my favourite song forever!
Totally agree with you mate. I heard it on the plane in-flight radio and couldn't find it for a year! And finally found it. Yes, it is a masterpiece.
+Jef totally agree. listened to this without the music video for months. watched it stoned today and it was a whole new song with the music video. loved the the slow motion and the way the two dance partners looked at each other in the eyes. pretty powerful
I found this song randomly one night. It felt like life was falling apart so quickly. It was overwhelming and I had no words to describe what I was going through. My state of mind was at a point where I couldn't even cry anymore. Suddenly, I stumbled upon this song and it comforted me. I immediately began to cry, and every now and then I play it, because it helped me cope through such a hard time.
Only took me 6 years to find this... 1st tune I’ve heard in a long time to give me goosebumps ❤️🎶 #sylvanesso
and they say sex is the best feeling. its not. this is. i love this for you even though im late
I love this song.....found it accidentally. I love the pure joy of the dancing people. Wonderful video for a great song.
2023.. the amount of comfort this song has brought me.
I almost forgot about this song and that sucks. Heard it probably way back in 2014 , IG reminded me about it. So much nostalgia. I'm overwhelmed.
After working at Teavana for so long, you would get accustomed to having this song play super often. I couldn't help but tap my foot whenever it did come on. Rest in piece to that era.
Man this song just grooves. I could picture myself having a cup of chai and a joint to this jam. On a nice rainy fall day.
One of the coolest tracks to have released in a while!
dude I literally see you everywhere all over youtube ahahaha
Johnny Football Guess we've got a similar taste in music :)
***** i woulda never guessed ;)
agree, great vibe, great video, too bad so many people are afraid to try something new,and believe its good to be different, never would have found this song, was in the middle of nowhere and the only channel was some college radio, this was on, and caught me
Released what?
One of the best songs i have ever heard
So true
i dont know why i dont knowwhat an amazing song like this until now :(
This song has no business being this freaking good. Sick beat.
love this song! brings tears to my eyes. it paints the picture of old memories flying by as you look up into the sky, somewhat with the feeling of melancholy yet sweetness.
It's incredible that most people feel that with this song, I feel it and that nostalgia is so beautiful.
lets create more core memories
hands down one of the best releases in recent times. classic.
I definitively agree with that.
Mesmerizing voice, beautiful vibes.
Astr0z haha like there aren't any videos where everyone is black or Latin...double standard much
Spotify gave me this song one day and I have been in love with their music ever since. This song always makes me smile for some reason 😻
I'm watching this in february 2021 and the video hits the sore spot. I miss strangers.
Whoever did the casting for this video is a genius
Omg, is that contra dancing? That *is* contra dancing!
This just made my day
Even in 2021, it's still the dance at the end for me.
❤ 2024, anyone?
Here with u
#lucahontas
Yes 🙌
I have Spotify to thank for this song. I have a whole playlist based on this type of sound and it is amazing!!
*My friend told me to listen to this song.... And i think i'm in love with it....*
So many good memories to this song. I miss him.
what I love about this song, is how well it's composed overall; there's no one big stand out, vocals, rift, etc. however all well synergized (apparently that's not a word, but it should be), and create a really cool vibe. I come back to it time and again; and it never disappoints to chill me. often times simple simple simple - is really good music!
these guys do simple really well (so so hard to do!) can't tell the difference between the instrumentals and voice in the melody; that's what I mean when I say synergized. really that should be a word.
+Carrie Kramer
Good explanation of their style.
+Carrie Kramer I disagree, their music isn't simple. It's full of vibrant melodies and themes that repeat but also build on themselves. The vocals are a beautiful part of a skillfully designed song.
How can a song be this beautiful.
I could honestly listen to this song forever
Im you 5 Years in the Future
What a stunning track! Shame on me to have discovered just now !
Same. Just now found it via tiktok.
The 2 best performances in this video speaks manifolds of how good these artists are.
Why does this song always make me cry when I'm intoxicated?
I’m amazed to hear so many others talk about the unforgettable and distinct feeling that this song evoked in them. I had this same experience with an ex that came back into my life briefly years ago at the perfect timing of this song and it’s been very hard to listen to ever since but I’m finally able to appreciate it again without the sadness. ❤❤
I’ve listened to this song thousands of times and never knew there was a music video till now. Wow.
I listen to this song all day everyday. I'm in love with the music video too
Why is no one talking about how this song is a brilliantly bittersweet ode to serial monogamy, how it's both familiar and surreal each time the "pair of feet change". 🖤
These songs were the build up to really the beginning of my life
I love this song ... Its catchy i swear. But the vocals on her is so soothing
One of the most underrated, before their time pieces of art. Evertyhing about this is magic.
The dance at the end is really cool
Yes it is
Amaranthine Cheshire it's like hipster soul train ;)
oneguycoding no. Just, no.
Amaranthine Cheshire It is the Stroll... from the 50s
ty
I have no idea what she's saying... But she's got a nice voice!
Esmerelda Amaya She's singing about sex.
Kenneth Saal
Oh...😳
How can't u hear what she's saying? It's slow and clear
Michael Russo
Honestly, I don't know... I think I may have just been concentrating too much on the way the voice sounded rather than the actual lyrics.
he lyrics are actually really deep and pretty. She is singing about the cycle of love, and how it becomes almost mechanic in a way. The clearest imagery placed in the lyrics
"sentiment being the same" when you dance any learned dance but the dance partner "pair of feet" changing. It's beautiful honestly.
She is the type of Beautiful you would be blessed to wake up beside every morning
Don't think I've ever listened to a tune 16 times in a row. This is simply stunning.
This is the only song I have had on repeat since my Wu Tang days. Idk why I dig it so much but I can’t get it out of my head.
Love is an understatement. Thanks Esso
I literally played this song everyday for a year. Wow
I used to make my mom play this song like, every single day. And I still love it now!
Who’s listening to this banger in 2024?
Who's Here After Finishing A Good Girl's Guide To Murder Tv Series? 🙋🏻
Clearly
New favorite artist
One of a kind voice
Could listen to her forever
Really nice weather today
The piglets! Wobbles! The Professor! OK, well, I wish I had not seen that.
I laughed so hard at that moment
Saija Eeva yes it's a beautiful day today what are you doing
Saija Eeva. Bi-State be riding a motorcycle in the woods naked
Saija Eeva oh well I'm getting ready to get on my bike or not up
They are playing this song like crazy on the Sirius/XM U station and I don't mind a bit.
that's exactly what I said! Check NPR's First Listen and you might still catch their new album for free listen.
bimberandbigos That's how I discovered this wonderful song
I've also heard it on Sirius/XM AltNation!
That's how I found out about this too :) thank god for alt nation
I just went over to LA for a little bit. Our place overlooked the whole of LA. This song and a couple others were on repeat. This song will forever remind me of 2am just sittong on the porch looking over LA.
When it would storm my ex and I would go to the back of her car and listen to music and smoke cigarettes. This song was one she showed me. We have been apart for a month and I'm just starting to be able to listen to stuff again, especially without the memories flooding back. It's going to take awhile but I feel I'm starting to get over her slowly. She will always be in my heart, but I have to be able to open up my heart to this person that likes me, eventually.
i saw them live last year and they were so magical and this song and "hey mami" were frickin incredible
So much feeling. An Immortal Track.
Can't believe no one has mentioned how live that party is. Goddamn, they throw down!
Laurent brings me here.. 🖤
worth it.
ohhh yea. genius making geniality all over the globe
Okay where have I been
really where have I been
this is the first time I've heard these guys
mind blown
So chill yet energizing, great lyrics.
so I know all have played this back to back, I'm on replay number 500
Got me in a complete state of nostalgia towards my days at university
I love that they are bringing together classic and modernness in the video through dance.
Awesome dancing 😁 whole video spectacular 😻 love you guys 🤘🎶❤️
Denis loves your work
just peachy and Corl is indifferent.
I've watched this like 45 times in less than a week.
only 45?
WEAK. found this at 12:00am. listened to this on repeat and here I am, 6:17 writing this. what a life.
gonna overcome this easily today,tonight,tomorrow..LOL ;)
It's okay, we can stop watching it anytime we want.
It took me 8 years to get to see this video, what a gem!
hearing this in 2021 the first time. Thanks to tinydeskconcerts. Love the irregularities and harmony at the same time. bravo
I love how they do the creep at the end
omg right?!
This is the perfect music video for this song
Hya
morro que música perfeita, que voz maravilhosa da vocalista...
achei mais um brasileiro kkk otima msm
Watching this high might be the best achievement of mankind.
To me the remarkable thing about this music is that I can hear a lot more than they play. With just hints of the rhythm and snippets of beats the whole danceable mix is still there if you listen to it. Part of it is because of what can be done with electronic instruments that couldn't happen before.

At my job they play this song all the time...as a matter of fact I have been working there for 2 and half years and this song is always playing there yet I never get tired of it. Its a masterpiece. By the way some of the comments on here are kinda funny because I have read from a few people on here saying that its disappointing that theirs no people of color in this video. This is going to sound weird but it kind of warms my heart to hear people say that. With all the hate people of color get in this world...to have so many people that want diversity in music videos or anything just makes me feel like not everyone is close minded...Seriously thank you.
blackgirlparis at 0:45 there's a black guy
As a minority, I never realized any of that till people brought it up, and I can easily imagine the song being the same either way, but where ever you work sounds awesome, this song always comes on when I'm driving to work or business school, too bad I'm losing Sirius XM next month :(
If you're paying attention to the race of the people in the video, you're not paying attention to the most important thing: the music...
Please don't start anything with me. I was reading the comments on this video and other people brought this factor up before me. To single me out and scold me only is unfair. Never the less the song is amazing. I love music of most genres it's not like I box myself in to liking 1 or 2 genres. I get tired of people trying to make me feel bad everytime the topic of race gets brought up. The sad part is I was complimenting the people who brought this up before me because they wanted more people of color in the video, and your still jumping down my throat. Amazing I cant win either way.
Your comment was just more towards the top.
Oddly enough I sympathize. You can't win when race or another social gets brought up.
My issue with it is that the "discussion", regardless of what side is brought up, it detracts and side tracks from the point... in this case, ya know, the music.
And "the discussion" never really adds anything. It's not going to sway opinions. It just pisses people off.
Anyhow, the song is awesome. For me it's been on the radio a lot, and I turn it up at work when it's on...
Laurent brought me here 🔥❤️
I love how even when the dance is supposed to be kind of fun and silly you can still tell that she's got a sense of rhythm and can probably tear it up at the club
Probably the most famous song to have been played for Night Vale's Weather.
