I wish Marley had a segment in the mourning of Finn episode, I feel like she was his closest follower and protege and she was the only person who stuck with him when glee club fell apart. She clearly looked up to him more than she looked up to Will.
I loved the teachre-student relationship that Marley and Finn had. They helped push each other into doing what they really wanted to do. I think that Marley liked Will to much and wished Finn would be back, but she knew what was best for him.
Man... Finn was going to be a teacher, taking over the glee club and finally marry Rachel who by then will be a huge broadway star. An ending we all wanted to see but could never get. Miss you Cory 😭😭😭
I never really got the whole Marley being the new Rachel because she gave me Finn vibes from the jump. She even dances like him (watch “Anything Could Happen”) 😭
Marley was not the new Rachel. She was the better version of Rachel because she was kind, supportive, never egotistical, independent, she enjoyed sharing the spotlight with others, and she just wanted to make the Glee club happy, even though almost nobody cared about what she was going through. In fact, I'd say that Marley is a much better protagonist than Rachel ever was. She faced reality, and in fact, she was so likable that some of the major characters who showed up in Season 1 liked her (maybe they liked her better than Rachel). - Finn Hudson, who supported Marley all the way and told her it wasn't her fault she fainted at Sectionals. - Santana Lopez, who defended Marley by yelling at Kitty Wilde for manipulating Marley by making her go into an eating disorder that caused her to pass out. Santana was literally the only one who knew about Kitty's manipulative actions towards Marley, and that's why she snapped at her. (THANK YOU SANTANA) - Mercedes Jones, who gave Marley a pep talk about rejection, and was incredibly supportive of her and her dreams in becoming a songwriter. Mercedes told Marley that her songs were too good, the producers would someday feel sorry for rejecting her (because Mercedes thinks of the producers as "dumb and stupid" for rejecting Marley), and she told her to never give up on her dreams, which made Marley so grateful about Mercedes' pep talk. - Finally, Sue Sylvester. She didn't like most of the students in the Glee club, but it's easy to see that Marley was one of her favorite students, because Sue never said any awful things about Marley. She only said great things about her, and when Marley and her mom couldn't afford a Christmas tree or Christmas presents, and Marley sang to her mom, Sue saw everything that was happening, so she gave them a real Christmas tree and 800 dollars as a Christmas gift. I thought that was such a kind action from Sue, the character who was supposed to be the main antagonist of the show.
For God's sake, Glee had so much potential, more stories to tell, and more songs to sing, but we already know it happened and it's a shame to have lost a good TV show, a good character, and a good and talented person. The story was not supposed to end like this, neither for Finn nor for Cory. It's so sad.
it took one kiss and a teenager to help finn realize what he's going to do with his life and honestly it should be artie or tina having this conversation with him instead of newbie marley cuz they knew him for the longest time and if it wasn't for artie forcing him to direct grease he would still be lost in life and working at burts mechanic shop
i dont think so, marley didnt know him the way that artie and tina, for her, he was her teacher and I really liked this relationship between them i wish we had more :-(
I think the fact that it was someone who didn't know him very long made the scene more powerful. I'll admit, I wasn't the biggest Marley fan (no disrespect to Melissa Benoist, who is very talented), but she made this scene more meaningful than Artie or Tina would have.
Marley and Finn's relationship is kinda underrated ngl. Wish it was built upon more. If Marley was brought into glee as Finn's little sister, I think that would've been sick, and I think it makes sense considering the relationship that they had!!
I think that’s because it’s for his benefit, whereas standing up for herself would be for her own benefit. It’s a lot easier to be bold like this when you’re helping someone else than when you’re doing it for yourself
It’s a lot easier to stand up for other people or inspire other people than to stand up for yourself when you have insecurities. I know from experience. Marley was the character I related to the most.
@@Littlemermaid0911 i agree 100% More suited and Marley didnt judge Finn for what he did however Rachel did and Marley and Finn stood by each other always, supported and inspired each other

In this scene, the school hallways become empty, lights go out, and Marley is seen walking towards the office where Finn is seen packing his belongings. Marley says to Finn, "so, you really are leaving?" Finn says, "yeah." Marley looks at the card in her hands, walks up to Finn, hands it to him and says, "I just wanted to thank you for everything you did for me." Finn receives the card, opens it, smiles and says, "thank you." This makes Marley smile. Finn puts the card in his box of belongings. Then she asks him, "so, what's next for you?" "I don't know, " Finn replies. "Probably a lot of long hours of figuring out what's next for me." As Marley walks towards the door while Finn continues packing, she asks him, "um....can i speak freely?" Finn responds, "yeah, sure, I'm not your commanding officer, you know? You can say whatever you want." Marley says to him, "dude, you really need to grow a pair." Finn looks at her, shocked as he was, he says, "maybe you should go back to not speaking so freely." "Look," Marley begins, "I know that you're feeling bad about yourself right now. And I also know how just one kiss could get you into a whole lot of trouble. Believe me. But, if Mr. Shue doesn't want you around anymore, forget him. Don't let him define you." "Problem is, he does define me." Finn tells her. "Four years i spent in this glee club defines me. This whole fricking school defines me. And without it, I'm......i feel lost. So...." "After we lost Sectionals, I was terrified." Marley reminds him as he comes towards the doorway. "That everything was going to fall apart. But you fought to keep us together. You're a natural leader, Finn. A teacher. You don't need Mr. Shue's approval to be that." "Yeah, but I do need a little thing called a teaching degree." Finn tells Marley. "So...." Marley says as she goes to walk out the door, "go get one." Then she leaves, while Finn starts thinking about the advice she gave him.
@@Littlemermaid0911 It's an illustration to make my point, not a reference to Finn's age. I meant, Finn isn't smart enough to be a teacher, and a person cannot be smart if they graduated at 20
Finn should have either Punched her, knocking her out, or started kissing her... I thought 1 of those 2 things were going to happen when watching this for the 1st time!
TvdLover at least marley wasn’t overly proud of getting all of those solos unlike rachel imo. when marley got solos she was happy & thankful and especially in glee club wanted to have fun.
It really went downhill after the original cast left. I can see getting a new cast and slowly integrating them like what they did with Blaine and Sam. Puck's bro, Marley, and the cheerleading siblings, etc. felt like it was the 3rd cast of the show where as Blaine, Sam, Kitty, Sugar, etc were the 2nd. All are very good, but the last cast felt like it was the last resort to keep the show going.
"Maybe you should go back to not speaking so freely"😂😂😂
its cute that the marley-finn friendship is so much like the rachel-mr shue relationship, I wish they wouldve shown it more
Yeah I wish they did to
If they had more time, they would make this be about a couple 🤯
Unfortunately they didn't really have a chance to, before Cory died. 😞

She really opened Finns eyes to get that teaching degree.
