Thank you for your simple and very inexpensive take me to keeping the smells out! Believe me I went through several videos to find something easily understood and inexpensive. I'm a female and I didn't know exactly what was going on with the tanks after I hook them to the sewer line. I'm semi-permanent in my father's yard taking care of him and I couldn't believe the death smell coming out of my RV after I hooked it to his sewer. It literally smells like something crawled up in the RV and died! I couldn't even stay in here anymore. So informative. I know this video is a couple years old but believe me it will go on for a long time thank you for your help! Love your RV restroom by the way😊
When you say to use a "third of a each" we need to know the size of the Dawn and Calgon products to have close to accurate measurements. The vinegar I know is a gallon.
It’s not an exact science as you saw. The bottle of Calgon is 1 quart (32 fl. oz). You can find that at Walmart, typically on the bottom shelf where the laundry detergent and fabric softener is stocked. The Dawn is 2.34 quart (75 fl. oz.) and this size I typically find on the top shelf at Walmart 👍👍 thanks for watching and please let us know if you need more info ✌️🙌💕
One thing I found is don't try to suck air out of the toilet area, blow air in. I find sucking air out draws fumes up from the tank. I use Borax instead of the vinegar. Thanks for the video
Do you normally just use 1 scoop Happy Camper when not doing this 1-2 times a month or do you always use 2 scoops in your black tank every time you empty it?
When we treat our tanks, we always use this method. We have one scooped the Happy Camper by itself and it does okay but we find using the liquids to be the best ☺️ thanks for watching and following our adventures ✌️🙌💕
Many times, people seem to have RV toilet problems because they are not using ENOUGH WATER and just following other guidelines. Like, "fill in 5g" after emptying it. But, what about after you start using it? One flush for #1 and two flush for #2? If people really think about it comparing to household toilet, it uses bunch water per flush. So, realistically, people should use two flush #1 and three flush #2 if anything. And yes, you will have to dump maybe a day earlier than usual but it'll cause less odor in your RV. THE KEY is to use PLENTY of water and not bunch of chemicals because especially the powder ones will cause MORE harm in your tanks than good. Recommend bunch of water and some calgon(or other water softener detergent) +pinesol and some DAWN. Remember, "keep it simple stupid".
Thanks for your reply. In this video, we specifically recommend using Calgon water softener, Vinegar and Dawn along with the use of Happy Camper. And YES, WATER, WATER, WATER.✌🙌💕
After watching many of these videos,if you have a Domteic 300 toilet there is a recall for them the back has a faulty seal or vent an lets the smell from back of the toilet sewer smell.
@@ChasingtheDreamRV A few videos on taking Dometic 300 toilet out an siliconing the faulty gasket! Takes about Half hr but have to let silicone dry for 24 hrs. Good luck it works!
Ty for your video. So helpful. And with common sense...its easy to do
Glad it was helpful!😀

Thanks for this helpful info. I'm going to try it. I have found that hampy camper isn't enough to kill the odors, especially in the summer.
Summer is definitely tough!!! A good flush out helps between emptying too 😉
Helps to get a back flush device for when you dump as well keeps tank cleaned out!
We have added that to our arsenal. Just haven't redone the video 😂
Thank you i use happy camper works great . I like the idea of the three other ingredients.
Sometimes I only use the Calgon mixture and no Happy Camper and vice versa too 👍

Yeah, that would definitely stink 🙃
I hadn't considered that an extractor fan might be exacerbating the issue. Thanks
Love happy camper!
It definitely does the trick 👍👍
Thanks for sharing! We do something similar if we have odor.
Thanks for watching!

How long u leave it i. There
You put it in the tank and leave it until you empty your black or grey tank. ✌🙌💕
I will give this a try because I just bought this RV barely used and have only gone pee in it and man does this thing smell 👃
Should be the cure you need. Fingers Crossed ✌🙌💕
@@ChasingtheDreamRV it seems to work great until about 60-70 percent full
Hello, do you keep all those chemicals until your next flush or you jist flush it right away?
I flush them down when I add them ✌️🙌💕

Is your tanks full when doing this
No we do this immediately after we empty
@@ChasingtheDreamRV Good to know, thanks!

I’m betting your sensors work too!
Only every once in a blue moon do we have an issue. ✌🙌💕
