I'm 82, and seeing those needle holes clearly is virtually impossible at this age. But your video was so explicit, I have learned to thread those damn needles almost by touch. Thank you so much! I still need to sew--but I will not by stymied by that little needle hole!
Omg!!! So helpful! I hadn’t found a single video that showed how to thread MY bother machine. Either that or they just weren’t helpful! Thank you thank you! If I could give you a hug I would! My hands get to the point that they shake so bad and I can’t thread my needle. I tried so long tonight to get it and made myself light headed in the process. Thank you for helping me to use this self threader that’s no self threader at all.
This is such a great tutorial. Not only do you help us get the job done, but you slowly explain, show close-ups, and go into the technical detail of how the task is ultimately achieved. Worked perfectly for the way my brain works. I don't use the machine that often and seem to forget this step each time. Hoping this video goes someway towards me finally retaining the info. Thank you for such high quality teaching!
This is, by far, the best instructional video i have found. You actually showed the parts from an angle that made it easy to see how to use the threader. Thank you!!!
Thank you!! You should make more videos, and longer ones!! Your voice and camera is so clear and easy to understand. No annoying music and just perfect.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to prepare a proper video to explain this "automatic" feature that no one can figure out how to use. So appreciate the slow and thorough explanation as well as the zoomed in video.
Thank you so much!!! I have managed to thread my machine by pure fluke in the past but couldn't work out how it actually worked. My eye sight has now got too bad to thread it by eye so I needed to solve this mystery once and for all. It now threads every time and I am truly grateful for this fantastic, clearly explained video.
OMG! After thousands of videos I have watched; finally I found “my sewing life savior.” Thank You for providing such short, detail, focused, information tutorial. (Also, NO introduction of long life history, family events/outing, personal recent activities, etc is very much appreciated.)
I have tried to make this work so many times and watched so many videos to no avail. This video is awesome so up close like this. It works now! Thank you!
WHOA...I just came across your tutorial. BY FAR the BEST tutorial in every aspect! You were quick yet thorough. Easy to understand and exceptional visual. THANK YOU!
Brilliant tutorial. Clearly explained with useful zoom in. Refreshing to watch a video which focuses on the subject without 5-10 minutes of waffle. Super helpful. Thank You!
This was the best video for using this automatic threader. I kept trying to use it but was not lifting the thread into the hook at the top of the groove. Needless to say I am so excited to be able to thread my machine without the use of a magnifying glass. Thank you!!
😱 I have had my machine for awhile and never used the threader because I just couldn’t get it 🥴 but came across your video - gave it a go and 😮it worked - it really worked - thank you 👏🏻👏🏻💕
This video was the best one I have come across.... because of this video I was finally able to use my automatic needle threader this video was such a blessing thanks
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your close-up video and detailed instruction was perfect. I thought my auto-threader was broken, until I saw your video.
Excellent demo - actually shows the thread in the guide above the needle's eye AND the most-important part - that the thread must go into the 2 'prongs' AT THE BOTTOM so that the very tiny hook that actually goes through the eye of the needle catches the thread and is able to pull the thread through when the lever is released!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! After sitting in front of my sewing machine and beginning to feel desperate, I managed to thread the needle thanks to your very well explained video!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much!!! I can now watch the video while doing it. I felt stupid that I could not figure out how to do it. The close-up really helps show how it works.
From the comments I was lucky enough to tic on the proper one to not have to go mad finding the proper and such wonderful shots of the parts and process. It also makes me remember about the wonderful time I stayed in Britain years ago and had a great time learning about perspectives the Americans can miss. And I still mind the gap! The inly place I know of that "apologises" for the tube running late. LOL.
Your video is awesome! I realized my automatic threader was not manufactured correctly (turned wrong), so now I can explain their error. I look forward to using the auto threader, when it is fixed.
Thank you so very much sir! Like many others here I hadn't found a single video to show me the way until YOU! I will think of you every time I thread this needle now! Thank you Thank You Thank You
Many thanks to you, Jonathan. I spent several hours trying to get this "automated" feature to work. I was prepared to return the machine if I could not get it to work. Thank God for UA-cam!
Many Many thanks for this. Had tried to work it out from instruction booklet and other videos, no help at all. Did it straight away after watching this video. Saved me so much time as my eyesight is not as good as it was and threading took ages.
Thank you so much for the close-up and detailed demonstration of the automatic threading feature! I just got a new Brother machine just because I can no longer see to thread the needle, but love to sew.
Thanks so much, the 3rd video I've watched and the only one that explained it well enough for me to actually get the machine threaded! The pictures with the manual aren't big enough to show what you need to do. Thanks!
Thank you, thank you thank you for this wonderful video showing how to use this super confusing and frustrating threading mechanism. I watched this once, went to my machine and got it on the second try. Unthreaded and tried again, and got it 3 times in a row. I now know I can do it consistently., You are a life saver!
After an hour of trying and using different videos, your video was the one to help me get the needle threaded! Thank you So much for the great shot of the needle threader. I was actually able to see that little hook that pulls the thread, which i could not see before this video. Thank you thank you thank you! Happy sewing :)
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I had been watching tutorial on how to use the automatic threader feature and could not seem to get it right until your tutorial. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for a clear and concise video. I have just begun sewing and wondered how this works as the people in the shops do it so fast, I really had only a vague idea. Thanks for sharing.
Some how a thank you for your help with the needle threading. Look at lots of other videos and they just didn’t do anything to help. Twice watching this video and EUREKA I DID IT.
Thank you so much you made it very clear. I'm thinking about getting a brother DZ2400 and it has this threader. My SE400 just does it for you with a lever you pull down. Love it!!!
Thanks for this demonstration. I had figured out how to use the needle threader before, and then I hadn't sewn for awhile. When I sat down in front of the machine, I thought, "now how did I do that before?"
It was big help 😊! My needle threader was broke and had to order new part ! Also have the same machine! The first time I used it- the part snapped in to pieces on the needle threader 😢now trying to put the part on is difficult so tiny part!
Thank you so much for this video I watched 3 other videos before finding yours. This was quick, to the point and actually had what I needed. Thank you!!!,
I didn't even know my brother had this feature. Thanks for the close ups. My 75 year old eyes have a hard time threading

Thank you black jesus
Yes, I was Abe to see the process
thank you- I see that NO ONE has a decent video and none are for my actual machine-- YOUR VIDEO IS PERFECT! THANK YOU!
Thanks for the lesson! This was driving me nuts. I was just threading manually. Best video on here.

😱 I have had my machine for awhile and never used the threader because I just couldn’t get it 🥴 but came across your video - gave it a go and 😮it worked - it really worked - thank you 👏🏻👏🏻💕
Perfectly done. I knew what the mechanism was supposed to do but could never figure out how to use it until learning from your video. Thanks!
This video was the best one I have come across.... because of this video I was finally able to use my automatic needle threader this video was such a blessing thanks
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your close-up video and detailed instruction was perfect. I thought my auto-threader was broken, until I saw your video.
Thanks! This is by far the clearest instruction on how to use threader. Great in-focus close-up shots.
Hallelujah!!! I still don't get how this works but I got the needle threader to go where it was supposed to go! May God bless you mightily sir!

Oh my gosh. I've been doing this by hand since we got the machine. 😅Thank you so much for teaching me better. 💜
The best video to learn this task. Thank you for the close-up.
Excellent video. Thank You!
Thank you! First video I've found that explains and shows this clearly!
The best tutorial on this topic by far! Brother should pay you royalties. Thank You!!
Thank you thank you thank you!!! After sitting in front of my sewing machine and beginning to feel desperate, I managed to thread the needle thanks to your very well explained video!! Thank you so much!!

Jeanie Jones from NJ thanks you graciously for your filming. I am a very visual person and your instructions were spot on. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much the written instructions wasn’t as clear as seeing you do it. No more pulling my hair out.
Thank you!!! I wish I could like this a million times!
Many thanks to you, Jonathan. I spent several hours trying to get this "automated" feature to work. I was prepared to return the machine if I could not get it to work. Thank God for UA-cam!
Thank you! For almost 2 years I've been wondering how to do this! I absolutely hate threading the needle myself as I have poor eyesight. 💕
Thank you for making the visual large and pointing to the parts. Very good instructions
I wish I had found this video first. Thank you for taking the time to explain how it works.
Many Many thanks for this. Had tried to work it out from instruction booklet and other videos, no help at all. Did it straight away after watching this video. Saved me so much time as my eyesight is not as good as it was and threading took ages.
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I seeing someone doing it rather than reading how to do it makes a world of difference. :o)
Ok I know this video was made 2 years ago but your a life saver!!!! How the heck did I not know about this!!!
Thank you so much for the close-up and detailed demonstration of the automatic threading feature! I just got a new Brother machine just because I can no longer see to thread the needle, but love to sew.

Great instructions. Even an 86 year old could follow. Thank you.
Thank you for this, I have been idiotically staring at it wondering how it's automatic.. this video was so so helpful.
Finally, Thank you! I inherited this machine never knew how to use the automatic threader. Now I know.
Thank you so much for the easy instructions. I've had my machine for over a year and have not been able to use the threader.
This is so late but no one was explaining the little tiny hook, Thankyou so much!
Thank you, thank you thank you for this wonderful video showing how to use this super confusing and frustrating threading mechanism. Thanks a ton. Though my brand is different and the threader slightly different the concept made it instantly doable from frustrating!
You have the best video on this procedure. Thanks so much!
Thank you this was excellent so much clearer than the manual as I am very much a visual person. Wishing you well
Thank you!!!! After hours trying to thread this thing I found your video!!! Success!
Excellent instructional video! I haven't been able to get it to work with any other video that I have viewed. Thank you.
Best video on threading a needle on UA-cam! Thank you!
Thankyou so much. Much easier than trying to fathom out the manual. Lovely and simple. Much appreciated xx
Got it, very close, detailed demo! Thank you so much...placed in my Sewing File.
Great up close video! I can finally see what to do! Best tutorial out there! Thank you!👍
Thank you for your straightforward lesson. So appreciated kind sir..
Agree. Best video. I watch numerous BS before I found this one. Close up is most important
Hey Jonathan great tutorial, could you do more? I got my project runway from my late grandmother and would love to learn more!
Thanks a lot! I couldn't do it in years and right now I learned it from your video. You made it easy for me.
Thanks, I had this machine for ages and never even realized it had this feature!
Great help thank you. I didn’t know I had a little hook as it wasn’t going through the needle eye. I’ve managed to rectify and now it works.
Thank you for the step by step demonstration, it will help 🙂
Thank you so much for this. I unwantedly downgraded in sewing machine and the new one has the auto threader like this. 🤦. Thank you again!
Thank you great tutorial. I hope you do another one showing how to set the correct tensions. Mine is out at the moment and i really want to sew
Thank you so much you made it very clear. I'm thinking about getting a brother DZ2400 and it has this threader. My SE400 just does it for you with a lever you pull down. Love it!!!

Thank you! I have been trying to figure this out for about a month.
finally found a good demo thank you
Thank you very much. It was very clear explanation. We've been trying since we bought. Missed the needle eye part in the manual book
The best explanation ever! Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for a thorough and clear explanation and demonstration of how to use this feature. :-)
