I'm a huge fan of this one. Wide forefront but lower volume equals great stability for my foot. Stackheight is protective but deceiving as the foot sits in the midsole instead on top so it works for me in mountains. Ran 50k up Pikes Peak and was thoroughly impressed overall and my feet were never in my thoughts. Ran in Salomon S-Lab Genesis most recently in 50k up Cheyenne Mountains and initially felt fast until my feet began cursing me down the mountain. Went out and bought first Ultras after recovering and immediately want another pair in rotation. Unless doing speedwork or hill repeats I'm in Zegama or Altras from now on.
Thanks .. sounds like they work well for you . It’s just something about the soft midsole and 4 mm plus just not quite wide enough, that make this shoe a kind of a no go for me … nearly !
Thanks for the video. I just grabbed a pair of these to use as my first real trail running shoes, as I'm just beginning the journey. Looking forward to them!
Nice little impression video James. Like you say it's basically just a wild horse with a altered midsole and outsole. Sounds like it could be a good shoe for you mate. 👍
I think it’s a really good idea to have a different style of shoe in your rotation James, I have my Altra Lone Peaks to mix in with my different Hokas. I helps to mix it up about a bit.
It's easy to get bored running in the same brand of shoes all the time so having something different in the rotation is fun and I think it helps to develop leg strength in different conditions too, giving them a different stimulus.
you may have one of the most underrated runner UA-cam channels.. great stuff.., keep up the good work
Thanks Matthias … much appreciated!! Hoping more will feel the same

Hi Kyle, I am using these a lot more now in my rotation.. fun ride!
Zoom X, low drop and a wider forefoot - how can you go wrong?! I'm looking forward tothe long term review James! Keep pushing!
Thanks … should be an interesting outcome !
Absolutely love the colorway James. Great first impressions video. I'll be looking forward to the follow up.
I too am interested to see how this one works out… thanks Sage - agree, cool colour
That's a really cool looking shoe. I bought the Wild Horse 7 after your review vid and I love them. Looking forward to the full review of these.
Cheers Neil, the wild horse was a classic .. hopefully this work may fill in the gaps !
I love the “on feet” portion . In my opinion every reviewer needs to do that. Nice review video bro . Getting the zegamas
Thanks… Hope they work for you
@@movemorenowjamesWhat is about size, real or smaller??

Cheers Ben … fancied a change … will keep you posted but as said, I know it be replacing my Altra Mont Blanc!

Thanks Innes … always good to mix things up!
Oh man so excited for these!
Thanks, so far so good
Beautiful shoes👍👍
🎉thanks
Looks a nice shoe James. Nice and wide looking to be fair. A good choice for your shoe rotation 👍🏻
Cheers Phil … hopefully should work out, even if just for ez long trail / road stuff
@@movemorenowjames I've received advice thats its very beneficial to wear different drop shoes on rotation instead of sticking to one.
That’s a nice colorway by far compared to the previous choices released.
Thanks Wonky Donkey
Very nice video… the name of your gray short ?
Thanks… think they are “higher state” … affordable ! From sports shoe .com
Thank you James !
Thanks Tim
Are they true to size or on the larger/smaller
size?
Hi, true to size .. 👍
A small Nike vacation :D
A nice place for mini break
Nice...nike

Agree. Good to keep the legs “guessing”! Thanks Mark..
@@movemorenowjames Haha! Yes, my legs are constantly confused 😄
no idea how you get your feet to fit in nikes. they pinch my toes to hell.
Having them a little longer helps - so far so good but definitely won’t replace my Altras ..
Same shitty grip as all Nike’s ! 🤬
Have you got them? As said, have not test the grip out on the wet… which is normally where they fail. Could end up being a type of road shoe! 😬
@@movemorenowjames Haha no I havnt…just like you, the wild horse and shoes like that. Almost worse the maxtrac 😂😂😂
Really interesting offering from Nike here James. I've tended to avoid them as I've found them quite narrow but these look like they could be ok
Thanks .. I am interested to see how these pan - but won’t be replacing any of my beloved Altra !
