Impressive riding skills and great technical trails! Actually those trails would better fit to a sb140, but since you have the skills, the sb120 is with no doubt a great choice to have fun and ride longer and faster!

@@damiencabirou2785 thanks, generally I would ride a bike with a bit more travel but I wanted to see what this thing could handle

Great review, I've been thinking about this one for a while. But how do you think it'd comp to the new Epic 8 Evo?

@@tttass i haven’t swung a leg over the Epic 8 Evo but I would imagine it’d be a trade off with the Epic being lighter and the suspension of the Yeti being a bit more active.

I decided to go with the trail build (non LR) sb140. Just imagine it peddling just as well, but with more traction and a little more reserve for when you need it. Plus my trail build is a hair under 29 pounds without pedals. I got the T2 xo1. I would love for you to review one of those and give some comparisons I’ve been stuck on the yeti for a year. It’s so good. I’m not sure it’s worth switching.

@@nicholashines7686 that’s awesome and I totally agree. I love playing with these shorter travel bikes but generally prefer the safety net or bikes with a little more travel.

You always do a great review. I just can’t get past all the “monkey motion”, as we call it, on certain suspension designs when you are getting only 120mm of travel. While somewhat arbitrary at 120mm I suppose flex stay designs seem much more appealing. In my mind it’s at 130mm of travel where the cost and complexity are worth it. That said my Spur at 120mm with its flex stay design feels a lot different than my old Trance at 115mm. The Trance is much more compliant, though not necessarily more capable (might be due to the progressive curve on the Spur though). Anyway, thanks for the review.

@@mkrj2576 thanks! I do think there is a benefit of these suspension systems on more technical terrain, but as far as being fast and simple you’re correct.

how come the following just have a 3 out of 5 for Quality? it's not far off yeti by all means

@@TheMTBRider96 fair question but it’s a few things. First is attention to detail the cable anchors are nice a do exactly what they’re supposed to. Paint is probably the biggest difference, the finish on the evil isn’t consistent, ie overspray at the junctions and more easily chipped. Looking at the demos does a good job of showing how the bikes hold up.
Think of it as 3 and 4 are kinda industry average, 5 is above plus things like cable anchors or grease ports, 3 is good but you can easily find things that aren’t as good, 2 is something frame wise breaks, 1 is just plain bad and generally means customer service is also bad.
