GBV | Judgment expected in bail application of man accused of raping 16-year-old boy in Free State

Judgment is expected to be delivered in the Frankfort Magistrate's Court today in the matter of a 40-year-old man who applied for bail after being arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old boy.
The accused allegedly has previously faced charges of possession of child sexual abuse imagery and sexual assault. This was contained in the affidavit read to the court by his legal representative.
The accused was never convicted of the charges.
Various organisations in support of the 16-year-old called on President Cyril Ramaphosa to come with harsher sentences for perpetrators.
