Kurama, more commonly known as the Nine-Tails, is one of the nine tailed beasts. Centuries of being regarded as a mindless monster and sought after as a tool for war caused Kurama to hate humans. After being sealed into Naruto Uzumaki, Kurama attempts to maintain its cynical perspective about the world, but with Naruto's insistence on treating it with respect, the fox overturns its hatred and willingly strives to use its power for the world's salvation.

Uzumaki as a last name and Kurama the demon fox have different meanings in Japan due to religious stories and culture....it's funny how people out west don't understand that naruto literally means fish cake in ramen

Lol no it wasn't because a teenager told him "he was a good boy". It's more because he watched Naruto over the years growing up and Naruto's personality made him change. He saw Hagoromo in him in all those years passing. That's how he changed his mind.

Except for he didn't PURPOSELY kill them, Kurama was trying to escape being trapped in another body (Naruto) so he tried killing Naruto and thus accidentally killing them WHICH was actually Tobi's/Obito/Madara's fault since he was controlling Kurama at first so of course Kurama was going mad and filled with anger and desperation for freedom!
