Surely the 911 is one of the best platforms to run a hybrid set up. Harvest off the from axles under braking and then dump it into the rear axle to boot you out of the corner.
The first generation 911 Turbo shown is by far the most wicked looking 911 Turbo ever!!! Coolest rear spoiler, slick front lip, classic Fuchs rims (still the best looking rims ever put on a Porsche), nice black trim over chrome, great rear flared fenders without ugly holes for cooling, dig the 5 analog gauges and the sound of the engine revving brings back sweet memories. This is the best Porsche info channel.
@@kevinbodman1011 the limited edition run of the 1989 model year is my favorite. The 5 speed manual and latest tech with a limited edition special run in the Porsche Purple color is wicked gorgeous. Add some OZ Mito Modular wheels of that era too!!
I don’t really like the idea of a hybrid for this car. It already does 0-60 in like 2.5 seconds, doesn’t seem necessary to add a big heavy battery and electric motor
2020 /22. Look the most beautiful Turbo’s ever made. I had a 1998 model 😊and that was fantastic in always keep up the excellent work with these lovely. sports cars.. All the best to Porsche company.
Re: Hybrid, Ive seen the next GTS in person last October. It was indeed a hybrid. Not at all far fetched that turbo S will be hybrid, maybe turbo is not.
@razorred1128 actually, I did. I got to see an exlcusive viewing of the new Style 70 Edition in Berlin in October, which is based off the GTS Cabriolet. It was without a doubt indeed a hybrid. Those fat orange cables do not lie.
@@Moakmeister emissions regulations. When they released the 992.1 turbo s the government forced them to disable the sport plus mode which provides over boost for more HP due to the emissions output exceeding the legal limit. So I doubt that they will be able to exceed 700hp with even tighter emissions regulations coming up
@@Moakmeister I'm not sure if Porsche corrected it or not after they were forced to disable it. It's easy enough to get a tune to increase the power output though
I really don't like the added complexity of hybridization. Nor do I think the digital gauge makes sense (deleting the analog tach). And I think the Taycan style light up "PORSCHE" logo is straight up goofy and for the Starbucks drinking mouth-breathers who lease a base 911. My other concern, and this is an issue with my 992 with RAS, is the cost of the battery - the standard Lithium battery for my car is $1,600 for the battery alone, what's going to be the cost for this new hybrid battery when it does eventually fail (like all batteries ever made)?
the digital gauges I don't get at all why they delete them, its such a crazy interior downgrade... and it's not like its a budget car where cutting corners is the biggest priority AT LEAST, if you want to have a digital screen, make it have the "outer case" of the gauge still physical to give it a coherent look... having a flat screen is pathetic, just like touchscreen buttons on the steering wheel
I was joking, but after watching the video at 8:00, the turbo won't actually be available till 2027. Now that the 7 year cycle is broken, it's a free for all I guess
What I do know….all that power is a waste of money on the street and 99% of drivers won’t take it to the track and if they do, won’t be able to drive it at it’s potential.
I would love to see Porsche build a front engine GT car as a true successor of the 928. Something that competes directly with cars like the Ferrari 812 or Aston Martin GT cars.
@@trance9158 there is and never has been a two door model of the Panamera produced by Porsche. The 928 was the last front engine GT coupe that Porsche produced. The Panamera is only available as either a four door sedan or wagon and not offered as a two door coupe.
Those rear lights.. 🥴 dont like it. Already didnt like a entire lightbar when the 992 introduced. But I think they work on the regular GT3 and Turbo S. Still, 997.2 and 991.2 are the best looking 911's for me. And ofcourse that wide 930 turbo
From response of many others the emotional passion for the 911 design died in 1990. The new 911 version looks like the old lady on Botox, the front end looks like the bumper is missing after an accident, none of the newer designed rear spoilers hold up as a classic design, the holes in the fenders for cooling look like black head pimples, the video screen dashes are ugly and will be even dumber in 10 years. Don't get me started on the 718 being designed after a bar of dial soap. Solution: buy a classic 911 in Europe along with a house with the extra money saved by not buying a new 911. I have owned 4 911 Porsche and the thrill is gone. By far my 67' 911s was the most fun to own and drive. So what if it didn't do the quarter mile in 10 seconds.

Lots of people hate the front Gills but I like them. It looks super aggressive
Exactly what i was thinking about. More aggressive
Please Porsche, give this thing a major redesign! No more nip tucking!
Pretty sure your timelines are way off. .2 turbo/ turbo S will be introduced/unveiled in early 2025 w/ deliveries starting Q4/2025
That's what I was told
Yeah, the Turbo always comes quickly after the Base models
But the model year will be called 2026.
