Hi I’m Luke and If you don’t know my channel it is all about sharing my midlife beginner guitar journey with you.
Along the way I show my progress or lack thereof! and look to pass on tips along the way that I learn or read about to share with those of you who are going through a similar journey.
I find that UA-cam has a lot of experienced guitarists telling us how to play which is great but nothing I can really relate to as a beginner.
So I want to change this and show what it is like following an online course with no musical talent or background.
Hopefully, this will encourage you to pick up and play the guitar, whether its one that has been sitting in the back of your closet or the new one you are about to buy.
If you need a recommendation then try here: midlifeguitar.com/recommended...
So please subscribe and become part of a community of beginner guitarists looking to have fun and let's enjoy the journey together.
It would be fantastic to hear from you along the way, so reach out and share your experiences with me.
    Cheers
    Luke

Enjoying the vids. On the same beginners journey. Just turned 43, got a guitar for my birthday, and just starting with Justin guitar. About a week in. Your vids are encouraging, thanks for making them. Cheers!

@@MidlifeGuitar bit cheeky of me but is the other capo still available? :P Loving the videos, around stage 8 myself. Currently having a blast learning Californication and the solo for it, pretty easy for beginners as the solo is quite slow so if you like that kind of music I'd recommend it. Teaches you loads of techniques too like string bending and unison bends. Especially satisfying given it's the first solo I've learned and it sounds amazing once you get the hang of it.

@@samsmith7392 Yeh no worries, which one did you want? contact me through my email address on my about page here on youtube and let me know where you want it sent.
Californication is a great tune, haven't tried it yet. Are you learning on an electric?

@@MidlifeGuitar Yeah I am, great for F chord - definitely way easier on electric as I had no real trouble with it and it is now at similar speeds to my other changes, around 90ish a min. When you get an electric I'm sure you'll be amazed how easy it is since you've started on the acoustic. I'll be in for a shock when I get an acoustic :)
Don't worry about the capo, I see you're in New Zealand (I thought you were in the UK) so I assume shipping would be outrageous to come all the way to the UK! But thanks for the offer.

All adjustments to Shubb capos should be done with the capo off the neck.

I play electric guitar, and capos can be very handy, especially if you’re playing a song in different tuning to standard.
For example when I’m playing AC/DC’s “It’s a long way to the top, if you want to rock and roll”, the guitar is in standard tuning, but with a capo on the first fret.

The Keiser is so strong I think it stretches the strings a little too much. I got a d’idario adjustable one and I like it way more

Question is how well do they work on electric guitar?

Kyser capos are a no go for me. I have one and the spring broke after a while. Despite Kyser advertising a "guaranteed for life" warranty they won't repair or replace it. Buy one of the others.

The kyser is the ugliest capo i have ever seen, just a big clothes pin, i have the g12 and waiting on the shubb , they are all i need
