    Love the respect at the very end when the Doc says "thank you very much". It's more of a thank you for participating in the exam.

    Just wondering if KCL KUMEC has given any thought to hiring Tom as their professional patient?

    so a guy goes to the gp with signs of gastroenteritous, he would have a abdominal examination. why would they examine the groins and the rest.? would that always be the routine?

    • @KCLKumec
      @KCLKumec  7 років тому +1

      Your'e quite correct, often that is not needed. An examination should be adapted to the individual patient. However when performing an exam in isolation it's worth mentioning what a comprehensive examination would include.

    does any medical students or doctors ever look at this?

      Yes - they were both students and are now doctors.

    I always wonder about deep palpation. I always thought you "wave your hands" when the patient exhales. Esspecially when you check the liver

      Light palpation - checking for severe tenderness or obvious masses; deep palpation - pushing the nine areas for deep masses and less severe tenderness; then the 'wave your hand' is probably feeling for the liver and spleen in which you ask the patient to breath whilst pushing your hand into the abdomen with the in drawing of breath in order to better feel the edge of the organ.

    @3:28 it has to be palpation or not?

      Correct. The sign does still say percussion but should read palpation.
