Anyone else feel that Tiberian Sun had the best atmosphere of all? Just seems so bleak sometimes, but in a good way, not sure how to describe it.
It's one of the best atmospheres I've experienced in a game. The music fits the theme and more, incredible stuff
Couldn't agree more, well put.
Its like post apocalypse and terminator setting.
***** You're right. I'd describe it as, eerie, apocaltyptic and desolate. Plus with CABAL I can't help think of Skynet from the Terminator series, with his machine army of cyborg commanders and reaper gun walkers
Throw this, deep, ambient soundtrack into the mix and it completes the game for me.
Agreed. I just wish they have gone the extra mile creating amazing sidebar icons and unique voice for every unit. This would have been sooo cool and even more immersive.
It's amazing that the internet enables us to linger in nostalgia at will. The music activates memories in our brain almost forgotten. We relive not only the visuals but also the distinct feelings we had at those memorable moments.
Reinforcements have arrived...
Something that amazes me time after time. How a smell, or some music, or even an object can recall emotions. And after you feel those emotions memories start to wake up. Humans are weird
Absolutely. 14:45 , these next 10 seconds instantly makes me think about panicking to recover my damaged base and pump out a few units only to glimpse a dot of the enemy's color slithering through the fog of war, so you click your minimap just in time to see a mammoth mkii making a beeline for your base. Chills , man i loved this game so much
it feels very good, and strange at the same time hearing this music after 20 years.. i remember getting this game on a cd from my father, and... playing it for hours.. even drawing art on paper of the soldiers, etc from this game... the sound track is just out of this world.. so ambient and eerie
@@Mandy-Lane haha me too. I was 9 or 10 when I got it. Would draw wolverines, cyborgs and ghost commando in my school books
Dude, I remember getting up on the weekends getting a bowl of cereal and starting up this game... Such good times
Nice to see all you guys who had this awesome game in their chilhoods
Ahahahaha Once you see the Mammoth MK II any other mark of mammoth is just crap.
Same here. Grown into an adult but miss these C&C games alot. Best CHILDHOODS EVA!
I never had the means to play tiberium sun. But at least I experienced small fragments of the legend in the tiberium essence mod.
Yes :) same here. I want to play it right now! But I am afraid it will not be such fun anymore.
All Hail the best game incarnation of a alien universe ..beffore the vile coruption called EA devouerd it :(

Remember the feelings, when you just sneaking around the dark map, and searching for abandoned base and when the hope is almost gone you hear: new construction options.

Technology of peace!
***** Yeah, most of them went there. They created Star Wars Empire at War, my favourite RTS after Tiberian Sun.

I liked the OP's comment last time I listened to this soundtrack, who knows when. I just unliked it so I could like it again:D
This game screams for a proper HD remaster.
HARVESTER UNDER ATTACK
+mcdonkey500 Is i just me or did CABAL sound like he was saying "August are under attack"
+mcdonkey500 STORY OF MY LIFE. (And Unit Lost)
I just coughed up my food.
FFS!
EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
Seriously, everytime someone/something touches one of my harvesters, Eva/Cabal always says that. I wish there was a mod to remove "X under attack" lines so we wouldn't get annoyed by that ever again.
Westwood delivered quality games
They really, really did.

Thats brutal xD
that's the way she goes, bud.
brutal AF
Or the Ion Cannon destroys the Hand Of Nod as it's in the middle of training the Cyborg Commando.....
And it's said with a hint of sadness as well lol
My childhood.....being from Cuba (you know, no internet, slow technological progress) I discovered the Command & Conquer series at my 12 years old. This was my first game actually from the series. What a nostalgy. I never saw the cutscenes but I enjoyed the music and the futuristic-apocalism atmosphera. Game companies should learn from this masterpiece.
jesus christ download those cutscenes!!! they were amazing!!!
@@911WASanINSIDEjob420 Hey fellow communist country. Republic of Moldova here. I had a pirated CD so no cutscenes either. Fortunately the music was not cut.
Gotta replay the game now that it is freeware one day when I have time.
@AlighaThor C +1
Blizzard cant learn, they (in my opinion) did better with StarCraft
Tiberian Sun will be my first computer game ever played. I played it back in 2011 when i was 2.
I have this, Driver: San Francisco, GTA IV & Generals installed in my PC
That epic Valve soundtrack playing while you setup your base. "Construction complete"

Always hated defending your retarded harvesters in the early game, having only your basic infantry trying to defend a harvester while trying not to stand in the Tiberium, Then it changes to another field that's in the middle of the map... Darn you harvesters...
I know right? They were always smart in the beginning of the game. Going to the fields that were right next to your base. Next you constantly have to baby sit them because they will bypass a field that is right next to it.
Tiberian Sun, my favorite game of the entire CnC franchise. This was my teen years. Great music and great games.
"Building -- Construction Complete."
"Ion Cannon Charging."
"Ion Cannon ready."
GDI, my favorite team. Putting the cool in sci-fi warfare, those ones.
Ahhh.
I can feel the nostalgia flowing through my veins.
Lovenought then suddenly a wild EA appears and stops those nostalgia with C&C 4

Lone Trooper fills me with such a sense of nostalgia from a time long since gone
Reminds me of that one song, 80s goes like: "Living in the wrong part of town"
This is a time machine, i played this game back in 99 when i was a wee lad and i would sometimes stare out our window at the night sky which made me think i was literally on another planet all becuse of the amazing sound track this game will always have a special place it my heart:)
As a kid i really wanted a ps1 which all my friends had so it was the must have console/toy but even back in 99 ps1 were really expensive more that my parent could afford, so one day my mom come home a gives a present and low and behold it was C&C TS. I played this game from sun up to sun set, even now i can play this game for hrs where as i can only play ps1 games in small increments it amazing how well it aged and i still love it to bits, Thanks mom:)
Bigup to all the moms that gave their kids games to play and didn't limit them in playtime!
Some Games have this feeling. And i know 100% what you mean
A true Gem never gets old
lol I guess I was really spoiled kid since I had pc, this game, and playstation with multiple games :D
Play this, when the first human being sets a foot on mars.
Haha, yes xD
nice
NASA needs to be renamed UAC...
Nah, I'd rather play it today😆
That is impossible as you'll see eventually.
Westwood was such a legendary studio. RIP.
jesus christ this sound tracks bring back good old memories.. i had souch a good childhood that it makes me sad when i look back in to the past :(
We need soundtracks like this in games again!
that would be nice, go back to the roots of old soundtracks!
Make Video Game Soundtracks Great Again!
Ikr, Although it might partially be because they accidentally made certain styles such as Drum & Base > Nod Crush. Fucking epic revolutionary stuff thats way ahead of its time. Imagine this song playing on a Drum&Base party. Evryone would dance their feet into oblivion.
The vibe that I got from Tiberian Sun is way more ominous than that I got from any of the later installments. I think a great deal of that is thanks to its music ..
Yeah but it's not JUST the music. It was a bleak future where tiberium made most of world uninhabitable, humans were turned into mutants, people died just walking over the tiberium, then those red tiberium tentacles that even destroyed vehicles. An killer AI tried to wipe out humanity, aliens landed somewhere, human-shaped cyborgs crawling around without legs, stealthy bases invisible until you walk in, shells crushing the terrain and making even building additional structures impossible forever. Also the coloring was very non-comiclike and dark.
My favourite game ever, changed my life. Nothing can describe the feels when you first start to play as a kid.
mine too, I started playing this at age 3 (of course I had no idea what I was doing until age 4 and a half though) and I still play it to this day
oh man exactly!!! Still remember all mission....
The first C&C Tiberian Dawn did this to me when i was a kid.I still remember the feeling when i got home after seeing this game at a friends house so many years ago...
So true. I remember being really impressed with the destroyed vehicle animation with the wheels bouncing haha.
Your comment is 5 years old but same here man. I always get the urge to reboot the game back up on my computer
From time to time. I may do it tonight!
* Puts the playlist on *
* Screen turns black and screen text appears * "Welcome back, commander"
Игра моего детства... Помню, как у меня тогда появился мой первый в жизни ПК с Windows 98 :) И помню, как я часами напролёт играл в Tiberian Sun. Как же я хочу вновь вернуться в те беззаботные времена...
I still remember when my dad bought the game from K-Mart back in the early 2000s. ( This was actually my first C&C game i had ever played, thus introducing me to the world of Command and Conquer. )
I find it interesting that these were also other games i played when i was really young, along with where they were found ( To my memory )
This was the very first computer game i ever played> Heavy Gear (K-Mart) (My dad had it for some time before i actually played it)
Quake II (Walmart)
Dune 2000 (K-Mart)
Home world ( Thrift Shop )
Deus EX (Big-Lots)
Tribes 2 ( Thrift Shop )
Carmageddon TDR 2000 ( I have no idea... )
Laser Arena ( I think K-Mart )
Doom 3 ( Big-Lots )
sims city 2000 ( K-Mart )
Roller Coaster Tycoon ( Roses )
Streets of Sim City ( I don't know )
Lionel's Train Town (I think Wal-Mart)
MissionForce: Cyberstorm ( My cousin's house ) Note: The death scenes creeped the crap outta me when i was a kid...
Tiberian Sun undoubtedly had among the best missions I've ever seen in a C&C game. What fun it was trying to take down Cabal in the final mission of the Firestorm expansion; hours spent trying to work your way through several enemy bases.... Even your own AI sometimes advised you to give up probably due to Cabal interfering though....."Surrender is preferable and acceptable against the odds you are facing".
If you want to experience some of that nostalgia again you should check out OpenRA. It's pretty much all of the old Westwood games in one engine incluing the original C&C, C&CRA, Dune 2000 and others. And from what I have heard it's open source(free). TotalBiscuit also has a video on it if you want to see more.
Oh that sounds interesting. I'll have to look into it. Cheers :D
c0nquer12
Tey are even working on incorporating Tiberian Sun and RA2.
c0nquer12 but you must first have the original files to play the game
magnusm4 If you want the music yes, but you can it without the cd's
I used to play this game for hours just to listen the music! I started playing it again in my fourties! 😃I have the ultimate 12 games pack with 3 DVDs.
Straight up chills when Valve started playing. Feels like ages since I was a kid rushing through homework just to play this before bed. You're doing The Brotherhood's work friend! Great upload.
rushing the homework? i rushed to the game! and didnt go to bed...

In terms of soundtrack, there is nothing that can surpass this. I love that game and that storyline. It makes me pretty nostalgic that they do not make games like that anymore. Westwood invested their heart and soul in this product.
Aswin Anil I don’t believe it could’ve been better.
Red Alert 2 soundtrack was sick too. I still listen to both.
Ah, opinions opinions.
@@asuris2646 Check also Dune 2000
Half life Soundtrack is up there too
My god ...old games... old times... this masterpiece...i cant stop cry...
"Infiltration" was so kino playing in your ears whenever you micro-managed a few small units on a stealth mission. I loved that even more than regular base building/combat. And "killing machine" is probably one of the hardest industrial songs ever written. And of course when you hear "valves" in the beginning of any mission you are always put into the perfect mood.
my fave game of all time! Thanks westwood, miss you :(
Premier Romanov I miss Westwood too, TS was my favorite CnC game and always will be forever.
alienboya Just awesome :)
m2
When you heard "Slave to the System" in the final mission of Firestorm, you knew CABAL was going to break out his "surprise"...
That was what the last mission was needed
have I just found the only comments section on UA-cam where everyone gets along?
Lol I was also thinking this!
Your mom! Noob
You’d think we would still have fighting between the GDI and Nod players though.
@@feartheghus Haha Nod today
@@feartheghus they've joined forces against EA it seems
3:54 This. This right here to me will always be the Tiberian universe theme. Heavy, beating music as a gaggle of infantry and armor makes its way across a dark, blasted landscape to go assault their enemy.
Valves, Mutants, Nod Crush. Damn, so much fun memories. Thanks Westwood. Thanks Frank.
oh yes. ww and franks
Tiberian sun and C&C games in general, are something that I will forever keep in my hearth. The soundtrack is just amazing, it's like I'm being teleported back to my childhood everytime I hear this.
You guys remember seeing that crashed alien ship for the first time in that mission? Blew my mind when I was 12, I was like holy shit that was cool
One of the best gaming moments. Best feelings ever.
I saw my dad playing this mission when I was like 8 or 9 crazy times I just graduated high school yesterday...
The defense mission seemed super hard at that age. And don't get me started on the NOD "parallel" version of that storyline.
@@Dmochkin OH THAT ONE WAS PISSING OFF. I hated going through without getting caught or dying xD
12 u was 18 and it still an amazing moment.
Man, Scout is forever one of my favorite tracks from Tiberian sun. Its so glorious.
Unforgettable, never has even a song from the main menu paint such a perfect portrait of what players were to expect from this game.
This whole soundtrack is like an ASMR.
This was my first C&C(I was just about to be born when TD came out). I'll never forget this game and its intense dark feeling. The atmosphere was incredible, it really felt like the dark future with tiberium.
To this day my absolute favorite in C&C series. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, I've spent a good chunk of my childhood playing this. And then some teen years...And then some adulthood. It just stuck with me, I don't know why. It always had this atmosphere that sucks you in into it's strange world. Tracks like Ion Storm and Red Sky made missions feel tense, and thrilling. Mysterious even. When you had a small rag tag team, and had to achieve objective on a map filled with enemies. Then Time Bomb creates a sense of rush, urgency. The music, the visuals, whole setting all work together beautifully. Nice wrapper for a classic to the bone RTS with interesting and unique units, and structures. Also, nicely put campaign. It's just perfection.
Fantastic game, will never forget how absorbing it was as a kid/teen. The sound of a gate lowering/rising always spooked me out (there's going to be a fight!!).
Yeah.
Ouuuuu! Uuuuuuo!
Or this sound: Fluuuppp, Fluuuppp… Then you know, some shit is going to happen to you base.
construction complete !
god how much i miss you westwood its insane
My personal favorite is Lone Trooper 0:56:59, atmospheric and futuristic yet 90's sound
i decided to just randomly scrool through the comments and saw your comment just as i was listening to that song and thinking the same thing, really weird
wow... as a guy who would consider himself a hardcore music fan, listening intently and obsessing over many styles over the years, i would have to say the nostalgia this brings is surprisingly powerful. my dad and i spent countless hours on this game, this is some powerful stuff. wanna go back and play more now
Still playing Tiberiun Sun & Firestorm in 2019, these games really deserve an HD remake, I'd gladly pay for them as long as they get much needed love once again.
except all hd remakes has been rather trash.. even command and conquer remake was terrible.. if the game makers today cant put any good rts game how could they remake best? they cant

I always thought this was an excellent soundtrack, but now that I'm listening to it again I just wish I could have actually appreciate how masterful it was 14 years ago...
Dusk Hour still gives me shivers, it reinforced so much this tense feeling at the start of the game, forsaken in the darkness in a hurry to find Tiberium and the opponent.
Mutants hit so hard. Can't believe how amazing this OST still is.
The music set the mood for this game soo well.
Im playing C&C for 20 years now and it never gets boring. Tiberian Sun is my all time favorite. Thank you for this playlist!

tiberian sun +firestorm and command e conquer red alert2+yuris revenge
best cnc games ever
Red Alert 2 and Yuri's revenge were crap
terminator847 If you give it a chance they can be a lot of fun, especially in multiplayer. Yuri as playable faction has one of the coolest unique units in a RTS game.
yeah duplication hehe xD
Jaybiooh I meant story-wise those 2 games felt dumbed down from the previous Red Alert, like they were targeted at 10~12 year olds. The gameplay was great though.
I give you that, yep.
hundreds of hours I've spent as a child on this game I swear. every noise and sound track I remember every moment so clearly
This is so nostalgic, i remember when i was like 9 years old and i watched my dad play this game. Time flies!
One thing i absolutely loved in TS that no other game in franchise had was ability to put your orcas on circle patrol around your base perimeter with use of waypoints and then assign one of those points along way to vehicle repair pad.
Man, it was so much pleasure to lay back, enjoy the show and watch orcas tare apart any intruders then go on its own to repair and resume patrol xD
making ur base look perfect in TS is the best because the world you fight in is a complete disaster. putting concrete down, walls , patrols, it was so good. Later games how ur base was build was less important, the same with walls ext.
Tiberian Sun was ahead of it's time and it's soundtrack was out of this world atmospheric.
*0:41:13** Ion Storm is very beautiful, this sounds very influenced by Mark Isham, especially on* *The Hitcher Soundtrack 1986, C&C games always had such good soundtracks.*
Dusk Hour, Lone Troop, Pharotek, Rain in the Night. Nostalgia...))
Still love that Soundtrack. Even a tiny bit more than the last generation C&C OSTs. While this soundtrack has less catchy or cool tracks, this one fits the whole atmosphere of the game. Not everything what shines is gold afterall. Tiberian infested Earth. Created mutants. Entire cities got abandoned and/or destroyed. Civilians fight for their survival not trusting anyone, no matter what their intentions may be. And above all that GDI and NOD fight a cruel war for what is left on our beloved planet.
Fantastic game. And my favourite RTS of all time.
I always loved this music. I'm writing a sci-fi script and going at a quicker pace than ever with this music. Lone Troop is my fave! And fitting.
Great soundtrack to play in the background when doing office or schoolwork.
the atmosphere and tension in this game is incredible
miss my childhood, thanks westwood, thanks C&C
Tiberian Sun was definitely the game I spent the most time with, even if you count in Red Alert 2 existing.
I thought it was a pretty great game, it never got old. Multiplayer was fun too!
RIP Westwood. At least I got SOME relief in "Grey Goo", but could've been better.
If they want to reboot the C&C series, they should start here.
+Divided_Kingdom Agreed
+Divided_Kingdom This is all I want. C&C3 fucked up too much on the story and presentation department for it to be rebooted from there.
I only hope that one day someone takes the IP away from EA's cold dead hands and gives it to someone who cares. Until then mods will have to satisfy my C&C needs.
+bladestorm91 C&C 3 was alright, I rather liked it gameplay wise. C&C 4 is where EA went all what the fuck.
+Divided_Kingdom if you mean that story picks up after Tiberian sun then yea aldo Tiberium wars and Kane's Wrath were realy good but i would like remaster version of Tiberum Dawn and Tiberian Sun but the cutscene from original game graphical buff
