I was lucky enough to have one of these for a week and Hyundai UK even let me take it out on track - on which it was awesome! As much as I'm a big fan of the Fiesta ST (I very nearly bought one once upon a time) but as a machine for driving, particularly around a track, the I20N is better. It also offers better value, and a 5 year warranty that also extends to track usage. The rear end design is questionable though...
I am with you! I really think the i20 N has shaken the game up a little which will only encourage other manufacturers, like Ford with the ST, to continue to up their game. Smiles per mile factor is super high with these cars👍
More standard equipment over the fiesta. I like the styling. Dislikes I think the fiesta sounds better, headlights aren’t that great from what I’ve been told, I prefer the three door look & the door handles look pissed. I am nitpicking but I don’t know if I would swop my fiesta for one
Yea it’s definitely more geared up to make you feel like you’re driving something pretty fruity. The Fiesta definitely looks better, but even the facelifted Fiesta is now only available in a 5 door isn’t it?
@@CarFocused I believe you can still get a 3 door Fiesta St. The only thing I don’t like about my one is the seats are a bit tight round the thighs. The new one has got different seats. An in-house company not Recaro seats
May not be a track but most cars aren't in stock form unless it's a gt3 or something. If it's fun on the road that's what matters but I would still pick a fiesta st
It certainly is fun! I’d probably pick this if it were going to be a second car, mainly as I’ve already had a fair few Fiestas now and it would make a nice change.
I'm an ST fan but looking at this one.. I can't choose :( the ST you can tune it lots.. this car I can't find much tuneing capabilities 320nm torque for the ST and 275nm for this one is that going to make a difference?
I don’t think you’d notice the extra torque on the road really, can’t be much between them. The i20N does feel pretty strong though. In terms of tuning the fact the Hyundai is a 1.6 4 cylinder might make it slightly more favourable to extract a few extra ponies with added reliability, but I can’t be certain that’s the case. Both great cars though 👌🏻
Ordered mine in August, still not here. If you're in a hurry... don't buy new 😂 This is the first HDR video I've seen on UA-cam, it's a bit hit and miss. I think it works best outside the car, I also didn't see an option to turn it off.
Haha yes new car wait times are a joke at the moment. We ordered a new Corolla Excel touring and have been told it probably won’t be here until October 😂 As for the HDR - the external footage shot with my iPhone 12 Pro Max has come out pretty well, but the GoPro footage not so well. The stabilisation option on the go pro seems to reduce shake, but has an adverse affect on image quality. Need to upgrade them though as mine are getting on a bit now!
@@CarFocused October, wow! If it carries on like this, we might as well order our next car's now 😂 Ah that makes sense, the outdoor shots came out really well. Before seeing this I questioned the point of HDR on YT, but they really pop. Not to sound like a sales guy, but It's that extra I never knew was missing haha
They have come on along way and needed to,a bit like kia who pinched a vw design engineer. But I don't like the way it looks or that wishy-washy colour.
Just can’t beat a small hot hatch on a twisty back road for driving fun. Hats off to Hyundai
Yea they’ve come a long way over the last few years!
I swear to god you are smashing it at the moment!! 😂
I love these thrash around vids!! Looks an epic little car that!!
Haha managed to film 3 reviews in a day!👌🏻 It was great fun mate, it loves the twisties!

It's definitely a contender if you're looking for a hot hatch and reasonably priced which is a bonus 👍
I’d have one of these over something like a Polo GTI for sure. It would be a tough one against a Fiesta ST Performance Edition though!
I have a Fiesta ST and I am swapping it for the 120N looks like an exciting car..😃
Had this car 6 months loved every second in it well done Hyundai 👏
Glad you’re enjoying it mate 😃
HDR footage looking great here! Great car too
Thanks Rory. Just started using my iPhone 12 Pro Max - saves times and produces a half decent image! Just need to upgrade the GoPros next 👍🏻👍🏻

Exactly, and it’s very refreshing to see manufactures still producing cars like this! Just adds a bit of spice to the market which is needed 👌🏻
To be honest, the stats are not far off your RS. Love your review 👍
Great stuff mate, I’d go for this over the Fiesta.
You get a lot more for your money!
Which is more fun to drive I20 N or the I30 N?
In terms of pure fun the i20N takes it for me.

@@iantownsend500 yea that’s a bold move from Ford - they’ve been partnered with Recaro for years!!
Great review, I'd love to see you with your hands on a Yaris GR!
This is something that I can arrange…😃
If you dont like the heavy stearing put everything in N and have stearing in normal. :) nice video.
I’m sure with a bit of time to play with the settings I’d find the perfect mix 👌🏻
What a car🥰🥰🥰
It’s good!
No speed limits were exceeded during the shooting of this video... maybe 😜
Think I prefer that over the I30
It’s the most fun, but not the most practical. As a second car it would be awesome.
With the cost of fuel these days the 120n maybe a better choice than the 130n.

Does it pull more than the Puma st?
Can’t really compare as this review was over a year ago now and I haven’t driven a Puma ST for about 2 years!
@@CarFocused Ok thanks anyway and nice review btw👍🏻
Rev hang is to get thru EU IMMIMISIONS LAW
GR Yaris...cough....cough
Still need to get one on the channel - I have been offered one from a subscriber so might have to give it a go!
@@CarFocused the GR is miles ahead of the I20 in every way 😆

Yea the looks particularly at the rear are very marmite!
2 doors too many…
Ah mate it doesn’t bother me at all anymore!
@@CarFocused especially when you have kids 👍
@@simontaylor3211 yep - my 5 door ST is so much easier when I have my son in the back!👌🏻
Each to their own! I’m a bit older in an era where all the hot hatches were 3 door…got another boring car for the kids (viva don’t 😂)
3 doors are great when you're in your teens but in reality 5 doors much better
Fiesta st looks better
it does look like a heap of shit inside though.
Harsh use of words there 😂
@@CarFocused Agreed - if he thinks this looks “like a heap of shit” then I don’t know what the likes of the outdated Fiesta ST are!
