In this video I work on my shop installing shelving in the upper loft. I also cut down a bunch of dead ash trees for firewood. I install a heater by Vervor which runs off diesel fuel to heat the shop during the cold winter months.
    · Efficient Diesel Air Heater: Heater power: 8 KW; Fuel type: Diesel; Rated voltage: 12V. Working Temperature:-104℉~+122℉/-40 °C~+50 °C. Don't let cold winters leave you frozen and stop you from traveling, or camping in all four seasons. Get ready to stay warm with our diesel air heater.
    · The diesel heater heats fast and increases the temperature of the car within 10 minutes; it can also pre-heat the engine and clear the window's frost in no time!
    · Low Energy Consumption: Fuel consumption: Oil pump that precisely controls the fuel inlet for 100% combustion. The efficient air heater takes around one gallon for one night to keep cozy during cold weather. The fuel pump vibration is low, effectively reducing the noise and letting you enjoy a quiet and warm space.
    · Remote control or LCD panel controlled to preheat the engine and the cab in advance so you can enjoy the warmth of home when you open the vehicle's door in winter.
    · Compact heater used to heat the interior of cars, RVs, caravans, trucks, ships, etc.

"Self-Reliance" is an 1841 essay written by American transcendentalist philosopher and essayist Ralph Waldo Emerson. It contains the most thorough statement of one of Emerson's recurrent themes: the need for each individual to avoid conformity and false consistency, and follow his own instincts and ideas. This channel will approach self reliance from a modern perspective. and will focus on various build projects using modern amenities, and tools to build a completely self reliant lifestyle.
Many people ask me where I am from and where I film my projects. I am from Northern Ontario, Canada, and live in an area where off-grinding is easy because I have lots of land to build on and experiment with different buildings and materials. Everything I do is to try to be more self reliant, and to depend less on others. But that doesn't mean I don't like working together with other people on projects. Knowing people who have skills is part of being self reliant, and trading skills is a great way to get more things done!

I bought a van in Alberta that has a diesel heater. Simple Living Alaska just dropped a YT video making a portable one for their insulated ice fishing hut, and can also help keep their dogs warm. You make me laugh out loud, "laser eye surgery," "If a tree falls in the forest, nobody hears it because it's hung," "I feel like the Little Mermaid, Thingamabobs, I've got plenty!" I had to take down an ash tree, also, and just hauled some inside for firewood. There are a bunch dying in our neighborhood in Minnesota..... I love watching trees fall, it's so cool. Our local community college has a 'Fab Lab' with a laser printer like that. Neat! Love your videos!

@@Ray-Willey oh I dunno, I've been living here for 40 years now and they have been talking about weather changes the whole time. I haven't noticed any changes in the weather, it's Texas, we get crazy weather. We usually get one or two of these episodes each winter, sometimes none, sometimes more. It's actually been a bit on the warm side, some of these worst winters I remember were in 17 and 12 along with some even worst so long ago I forget what years 😆
And we had that 4-5 day stint in 21, that was more of just the electric companies screwing up, the winter overall wasn't bad.

10:33, Have had a Chinese Diesel Heater in my full time bus for over 5 years... This year, I was in a quick lube place getting my truck serviced. The guy gave me an empty 5 gallon oil bucket with spout and cap. (I'm sure you've got one for your tractor)
Fill the bucket with OFF ROAD Diesel, & just drop the pickup tube in the bucket spout (outside) and let her chooch away!
    Best nothing I ever spent!

The tanks that come with the heater are not very durable. Watch for leaks. I have one of the all in ones and use it to heat my basement. I'm thing about getting another heater but one like that one, but I want to get a larger tank. I'd like 5 to 10 gallons so I only have to fill it every one to 2 weeks.. I always have my heater on the lowest fan setting. I only need to keep my basement at a temp above freezing to keep the pipes from freezing. On low my basement is right around 50 to 55 degrees depending on the outside temps. We have a cold day of -7 F and I will probably increase the heat output so that it helps keep the basement a little warmer so the boiler doesn't have to work as hard to keep the water hot.

That ice acretion is really bad when it's followed by snow. While that ice itself is fairly heavy, the snow can pile on and get really bad, and will catch the wind more. Middle of December in MN, there were a lot of trees brought down on roads because of such phenomena.

Laser cutting plywood with no hood or filtration (not even a respirator or mask) is crazy dangerous. You're breathing vaporized formaldehyde and polyurethane from the adhesive between the wood layers. You should have sub-micron filtration for any laser cutting, but especially for plastics (and adhesives).
