In order to complete my master of fine arts thesis, and design my application, I had to understand how humans perceive and interact with color. My professors I was fortunate I had two PhD experts with extensive knowledge on color deficiency as my advisers half of the books in RIT's library were written by Dr. Ethan Montag. I did empirical based research. Topic: A test for color appropriateness and color selections in multimedia design for color deficient observers. In short, I extracted viewable hues that fell outside the lines of color confusion and placed them in subset palettes which addressed America Disabilities Act Sect 508 and website litigation. I have an idea what you're trying to do you need to take the course, design school only teach color theory. Know the distinction color theory is not color science. Lastly, this course can be intimidating but you have to stick it out.
Sorry for not spotting your comment when you posted it! The 100-Hue quantifies mild, moderate, and severe color vision deficiency. The Farnsworth Lantern deliberately passes mild defects, but fails moderate to severe deficiencies. I hope that helps!
