Biggest Sea Monsters Size Comparison

- Humans have always been fascinated by the ocean ... After all, even today we’re not entirely certain what lies beneath the waters that cover more than 70% of the Earth’s surface. So it’s no wonder that storytellers throughout history-from the most ancient mythologies to modern monster movies-have populated those dark waters with all sorts of giant ocean monsters, ready to wreak havoc on the surface world at a moment’s provocation. Some of these mythic sea monster are so large they can lay waste to entire cities with ease while others are no bigger than the creatures that actually inhabit the oceans of the world, but all of them have captured human imagination throughout the years.

i love how they put a scale just to completely ignore it
the measurements are wack af

Sailors: (Sees giant women Siren)
Also Sailors: I've always wanted a woman that could crush me
Deatb by snu snu?
Well it has been probably weeks since they saw a woman sooo....
I love the kind of woman that'll actually just kill me
Just asking where is that giant siren from? Just wanna know
If Sirens were actual sea monsters, they would be like this 0:41
Jörmungandr was much, much, MUCH more bigger than bigger than portrayed here, there's a reason they called him the "World Serpent", bigger than all the Continents combined together
He wasn't that big, so stop bringing up false accusations about him. He's considered that, mainly because he can encircle the entire planet.
@@Sanicpoopyyork Did he get eaten like spaghetti?
@@Cat_Garfield Tbh idek about that, he just died in a fight with Thor.
@@Sanicpoopyyork yeah, did Thor eat him like noodles?
@@Cat_Garfield No
It is said that Jörmungandr was big enough to circle around earth and bite his own tail so hed be about 24900 miles long
How could you leave out the King of Monsters himself. Hes a Sea Monster after all, lol
Not really, he just goes to the sea whenever he wants to go across different places. And the quote *”sea monsters”* they live in the sea.
@@Carllasan well the "Omae wa mu shin" King Of The Monster goes to water not because it is bored its because i forgor
@@Carllasan it does because it has gills and can survive in water so your wrong and hes right!!
@@dajustin5408 i said he goes in the sea to go in other places. AS IN BARELY. SWIMMING IN THE SEA ALL THE TIME. UNLESS HES GOING ON A DIFFERENT LAND OR AREA.
@@dajustin5408 freaking read before you comment.
Fun fact: jormungandr would actually be bigger than that
Of course, its the world serpent after all, it can even qualify as a sea dragon.

I thought Jörmungandr was 40,000 km long but even in 4,800, he's really huge.
He is my favourite sea monster.
40,000 kilometers ~= 3.15* the diameter of the Earth...
Also, if you know Halo lore, that's exactly 4* the diameter of Installation 04.
To be fair, nordic people didn't knew that the Earth is that big
Probably, when the mythology was created, when the said that Jörmungandr can surround Midgard, they meant south Scandinavia, because tha was all the world they knew
In other words, 4,800 km is the size according to the knowledge of the nordic people of that time and 40,000 km is the size according to our modern world knowledge
Or at least that's what I think is the reason
@@thecatjall7848 I will delete a little detail from your comment.
It is that nordic people or Vikings (call them what you wish) knew other countries like scotland and england.
You should play Assassin's Creed Valhalla friend.
@@CAPTAIN_TERMINOTERROR you are talking about the periot usually called "viking era" or "viking invasion"
I'm talking about the periot BEFORE that, the time when the germanic culture and the nordic culture splitted

What about any of the Leviathans from Subnautica? The Reaper Leviathan is an obvious choice, but the Gargantuan is really terrifying! It's stunning, but considering how massive it is and how powerful his special attack is, it could be on here as well. Nice video BTW 😎
Don’t think the gargantuan would make the cut. Although it is very big. It still would be very overshadowed by some other creatures like cuthulu and such.
@@astr4nova420 Gargs could get to around 1500 meters in length so they're definitely contenders
@@Sprite_uwu that is true. But i think gargantuan could still be overshadowed by them as cuthulu can change its size infinitely and trevor hendersons sea eater which is about 300,000 meters.
yea but I think subnautica 3 is coming out at the end of this year or next year late or early into it I’m not sure but I think there will be a demo for subnautica 3 soon
and also the Bakunawa, He's larger lol.
Every sea monster & creature gangsta until LEVIATHAN arrives 💀💀💀
This doesn't even scratch the surface of the many sea monsters that could be included in such a size comparison: For example: The leviathans from Subnautica (including the gargantuan), SCP-3000, Godzilla, Cthulhu, just off the top of my head.
Forgot Cthulhu, kinda dumb leaving him out.
Cthulu can change size at will. Unable to give an accurate representation.
Cthulhu does not have a definite size, he can change his size anywhere
SCP-169
Technically a priest under gods power so sea monster
Cthulhu is not entirely a sea monster
"Moby Dick" 💀

Hell nah💀💀💀💀
I love that Ebirah is on the list. Not the best Godzilla film score, but I do like the music composed by Masaru Sato.
I love when texts are on screen for .2 seconds
The way they dont let u have time read🥲

Don't u know how to pause?
Nessie is not a sea monster. Nessie lives in a lake not the sea
Actually true people sometimes call it the lake monster
Cthulhu:”am I a joke to you?!”
Leviathan : ahh quit your babbling bruh
The Bloop:what am I? A ant?
SCP-169: 🤣
R too big that we aren't know what is your size
Moby what now👀💀💀💀
Good seeing ebirah make the list of sea monsters/Kaiju
What’s funny is that Cthulhu would kill and turn then insane with just a look
All while not being the strongest or largest of the bunch physically.
nah jormungandr would still win
@@orkaydk9430aint no way bruh 💀💀💀💀💀💀 YOU THINK A GIANT SERPENT CAN KILL A LOVECRAFTIAN COSMIC ENTITY???
it’s sad that u didn’t added the gargantuan leviathan that is almost 5000 meters long into it
Jormungandr ain’t even a sea monster. He is the entire earth
No, but he can wrap his body around it.
The bloop is an ice berg noice, I still believe it’s out there tho.
kraken: when is it my turn?
Godzilla: "hold my nuclear warhead...."
GOD: HOLD MY BIBLE
Godzilla is not a sea monster
The bloop:hello
Its me your looking for?
Nessie:I Forgot Y’all Don’t Exist XD
Вообще-то, Ёрмунганд (мировой змей) расположился вокруг всего земного шара и своим ртом дотягивается до хвоста
0:39 IS THAT TITANIC!?
The dramatic music didn't help the weird flashy goofy animation at all lol
what about Humboldt Squids those are apparently ones I fear much more and would unscrew helmet of my deep sea suit.
Yeah after watching this I’m not going in open seas again
Oh, I thought Godzilla would be in this.
Kraken
My beloved one
I love him
That illustration of Octalus is awsome 🔥
i didn't know that a Godzilla crab character was here
Siphonophores:ahh yes finally a worthy opponent
Scylla more like a sea witch to me

Oh ebirah was in this.
But you left out the king of the monsters?!
I'm disappointed to the fact that the green eyed monster; the leviathan is not even mentioned
There's multiple
Plus, that's not even a thing, culture wise
Jorm can wrap himself around midgard which is either the size of earth or the universe (depends on the depiction) either way he is way bigger than this
I've never heard Jormungandr called "Jorm" but I like it, it's cute.

TITANIC :D
Where mah boys Godzilla and Cthulhu?
Humans are so adorably creative
Jörmungandr was not an sea monster he was a world serpent who had used a tree in jotunheim to shed in fact the only reason he was classified as one is bc odin threw him in the oceans of midgard in hopes of drowning him but ended up letting him grow so large he could wrap aroud the earth and bite his tail.
not really a fan of the more modern version of the Siren, where somewhere in history someone just combined an actual Siren with a mermaid.
Siren's were ugly bird women (not to be confused with Harpies) that lured sailors to crash their ships onto rocks. I think they would then eat them.
it was only in the years after the Greeks that at some point they fused with mermaids to become the mermaid-esque Siren, who is actually beautiful and either lures Sailors into the water to drown, or drown people (men I guess) themselves.
bro the gargantuan leviathan is 5000m LOL
titanic caught on camera😂
Now the king monsteur of sea is the bloop
Nessie could be an Elasmosaurus
Yep, sea monsters, if you want to believe that junk. - Milo Meekly, The New Scooby-Doo Movies - The Secret of Shark Island
what about the bloop and julia beast and also el gran maja?
2023 just got even crazier
There's Ebirah here, hooray!
ebirah kinda looks like scp-3700-A
Cthulhu would dwarf all of them, he is roughly the same size as Mother Cloverfield monster which is absolute huge!
bro i wish SCP-169 was in that list;-;
World serpent be liek: dud im literally wrapped around the world im much bigger did you noticed WORL SERPENT
It’s gonna be bloop right? Or maybe Julia!
That was 2 minutes ill never get back
Now that would be an interesting start to a water monster movie. Have it eat another water monster. Maybe megalodon eats loch Ness monster.
When theres a monster on a sea it is called thalassophobia
Okay, there is no way Cetus is that small and Charybdis is that huge.
Would be nice to gargantuan be here but he wasn't
Yo where the bloop yo man
