She was the Barbara pennyworth of the series (Batman & Robin), had little ties to the origin of Pamela Isley, but was thematic the same person. Gotham took a lot of liberties, but the most with her.
The showrunners of Gotham explained the recasting of Poison Ivy by wanting to move away from the more comedic version played by Maggie Geha into a scarier, more ruthless character played by Peyton List that wasn't good at all in Season 4. Maggie Geha's version of Poison Ivy was way better and they should've stick with her as the official Ivy in the show. Also, I didn't like that she wasn't named Poison Ivy in the show cause that's who she is when she has powers and doesn't even named herself, Poison Ivy.
I never really fully understood the point of aging Ivy up and recasting her, not once, but TWICE. Why do that? Okay, they wanted to take Ivy Pepper and turn her into the Poison Ivy she is in the comic books, and the first recast took care of that (because little girl Ivy being a young teen seductress would understandably be more than a bit TOO disturbing...). But why then age her up further and recast her a second time? The first adult Ivy could've just gained Poison Ivy's signature powers without further maturing....
She was the better Ivy. I loved her take on the character before the recast
Poison ivy is my favorite childhood supervillain ever since I was a little boy
Yes. She didn't have to be supernatural to be scary.
Just like serial killers
