Error Code AS on Midea Dehumidifier indicates that the humidity sensor has failed. In this video we will demonstrate how to change the humidity sensor.
thanks, this video was very helpful for disassembly of my mad50ps. Do you know where I can get a longer ribbon? I want to relocate the sensor further away from the unit to reduce the cycling.
You probably won't find longer wire separately. What you can do it to cut it, add some wire at the desire length and splice it back together.
I don't get a humidity sensor code but I continue to get a high reading that doesn't change like 61 to 63 I can blow on the sensor and the reading increases
A dial meter indicates 50 percent do I need a new sensor
If you blow on the sensor and reading increases, most likely nothing wrong with the sensor.
I have this dehumidifier and my problem is that the up down humidity controls don't respond. I can switch to continuous and it seems to work (makes fan noise anyway). Does this sound like a sensor issue? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
It's possible, but with faulty humidity sensor you normally would get an error code. You may have an issue with control board itself. That's another part of dehumidifiers which goes out after some time.
@@qxparts Thanks. I thought so.
Hey I have the same dehumidifier. For some reason it stops shortly after turning it on. Not sure what is the cause for this. How would one fix it
It is possible that your dehumidifier low on refrigerant and it shut off itself after short time due to self protection of the motor. I'm afraid that in this case you will need to replace whole unit because it's cheaper rather then looking for HVAC professional to fix broken pipes and to refill.
My dehumidifier freezes up at the back. Starting at the bottom and goes up 3 coils. What could cause that? Thanks
Check if there any airflow blockage such as dust and dirt on air filter and coils. Also, make sure blowing fan working properly. Also low or lost refrigerant can cause evaporator coil icing because of abnormally low pressures on the low side of the system. If you see greenish mold anywhere near coils, tubes or motor, that's an indication of leaked out refrigerant.
My 22 pint one that I just bought keeps turning itself off
Most likely it has refrigerant leakage and it keeps turning itself off to protect the motor.
