Just took one and the results were surprisingly fast 😅😅 my positive line popped up litterally within 5 seconds of putting the swab in! Wish me luck because I feel like complete garbage right now

Hey everyone....the test kit contains a reagent called Sodium Azide. It's fatal if comes in contact with skin or inhaled. If you suffer an injury, you cannot sue because this test kit is not FDA approved. You think this is BS? Google the package insert from Abbott and see for yourself.

This test sucks. I have 5 daughters and on 2 separate occasions their school tested them with these and one of them came back positive…and then the 2nd time, a couple months after that, another of my daughters was tested positive with this test at school. But lo and behold we took them to get the PCR test multiple times after both incidents and we got negative results each and every time.

To be fair, it’s much easier to get a false negative. False positives don’t really happen. Imagine reaching into the couch cushions for change and coming up empty a couple times…the viral load may be lower and doesn’t get caught every time.
Abbott is a trash company I work here. I'm quiting in a month noone is trained right here and we get new training that makes old training obsolete lol. It's a nutty company
Total lie about the cost! I paid $30 at my local CVS for a box that contains two tests. Be aware as well that most insurances don't cover the test and that the tests have an expiration date on the box.

So far my experience with the the company that makes the test as well as E-Med has not been good. I have questions and tried calling 5 or 6 times only to set on hold for as long as an hour before giving up. I then emailed and still haven't had any response. I would question if this is really the way to go to get your testing done on time and properly. I think the company has become overwhelmed. Here are my questions:
We are going to buy a 6 pack of the Covid test for travel (Carnival Cruise Line). We have 4 people in our party. When buying the pack of 6 I can only register 3 people,....will that be a problem when taking the test for the 4th person?
Will we all need to be together to take the test? Or can I open the pack and let them take the test home with them?
Do we need to schedule an appointment to take the test with Emed or just get on the Emed website the day we need the test taken?
How long is the test good for, as in the expiration date? I'm hearing there is a lot of confusion about the expiration date due to the FDA extending it. Is Carnival recognizing the FDA has extended the expiration date?
Considering all the Questions here I think I will just scheduled a rapid test

Why is it that in the U.S. these tests still require you to go to a health professional to get tested? In other countries such as Indonesia they have at home testing available to citizens. They can test in the morning before they leave their home and know if they are positive or not and make an educated decision. This Abbot test just looks like a money making blades and shavers type set up. Is it helpful, sure it is. But you need rapid tests that EVERYONE has at home. That is how you are going to get the spread under control.
Oh how much is a co pay by the way? I don’t have co pay at the VA. So I am kinda not supporting the medical industrial complex. However, I do like to buy medical items in commodity and the Philippines. In America hell no not so much. I have not been to the VA in a few years cause it’s a 25 mile drive from my house and plus I am still healthy :0) and have a lot of medical knowledge

I recently used this test it contaminated with some lint or my hand lotion and got a positive, the top line was watered down and the second line turned dark ?
no bc i just took mine and the pink seeped up and covered the top line to make it purple, then it like leaked everywhere

I work in the gurnee facility making these test kits...we make them very easily and under a few minutes. I can honestly say that Abbott is just trying to help as much as they can. The cost of making them is $5 and you can only get them from the doctor (currently).

hey i just did it today it goes up to the ridge of your nose or like the sinus? Part idk, but its not bad AT ALL!! The rapid test that is, the multiple day waiting time for results thats more accurate than the rapid test the ones at the doctors goes much deeper and more uncomfortable

people do not understand that the test is not designed to be used on asymptomatic people. Or as a test to see if u have SARS.
It is simply a pre diagnostic POC rapid assay.
If u use it to test for the virus, it will create false positives and false negatives. It can only be used from day1 of symptom onset to day 7 after onset.

Does it matter whether you first put in drops or first put in the q tip after swabbing?
Do you need to press down on the q tip to mae sure it makes contact with the test pad on the other side of the card?
the instruction says to add the drop first. doesn't say to press down, but to rotate three times. doing it right now haha
To be fair, every COVID-site professional I've seen adds the drops later (just like how the lady in the video did it at 0:30. I've tried it the way the instructions say (drops first, then add cotton swab) and the results take much longer plus look kinda murky...

I could but this product sells here in the Philippines for 900 pesos each that’s 18 USD each I am sure my supplier is getting them for 5 dollars each. I bought a box of 25 and it comes will 1 vial for the solution for all 25 kits
