- Hi, everyone last time we looked at the smallest steamer I have the K-Line Porter. This time we look at the biggest. The MTH C&O Allegheny. This engine is BIG and pulls a house.
The Chesapeake and Ohio built 45 of these engines. Some of the strongest engines ever built; including the N&W "A', the "Big Boy" and the "Yellowstone. Fully loaded engine and tender weighed more than 1,000,000 pounds.
There are only two surviving. One at the Henry Ford museum and the other at the B&O museum in Baltimore. I've been lucky to see the one at B7O several times, last being in December.
Follow me as we take a ride with the Allegheny and a friend as we pull nearly 30 cars; all Woodside billboard reefers

Late, but I always enjoy your great videos, Bob! What a beauty of an MTH C&O Chesapeake type locomotive, followed by an awesome consist of colourful reefer! Thanks for sharing your collection.
Thank you Tom for watching, Im glad you like them. I very happy with the look of the train. I have my ride on Reading 2102, and a day day visit with C&O 614 coming real soon.
➕ Another great weekend hoped for everyone! 🚂🚂
Thanks for watching. This engine is a beast and fun. Have great weekend.
Came for engine, stayed for the billboard reefers! Nice run, Bob!
HAHA, thanks for staying. First time I showed the 36' reefers. There were 27- and with the two steamers l;ooked good. Thank you for watching...
Wonderful video Bob.
The H8 Allegheny is my favorite articulated steam locomotive - period.
MTH did a great job with it.
Glad you have one. Enjoy it!
Thanks Henry, one of my favorites as well. Hopefully MTH will re do them sometime with another cab number.
Hi Bob! Cool video! The C&O Allegheny is a great engine!
Thank you Penn Valley; its just so unique and massive. Ive never seen a tender with a six wheel truck at one end and eight wheel on the other.
Love the layout. My sons Allegheny is a rail king version 2.0 upgraded to a 3.0. He is able to run 0-36 curves which is good because his layout is very small. Keep up the great videos, love them.
Thank you Bob. The MTH railking Allegheny is a great locomotive as well. My friend has one; it negotiates curves and is a beast as well.
Two beautiful C&O steam engine and great box cars Bob
Thank you George for checking it out. Im glad you enjoyed. Its always a pleasure to run this train.
Awesome video Bob, that locomotive is a beauty and the reefers are great looking too. Thanks for sharing 😊👍
Thank you for checking it out. The billboard reefers go with almost any engine and look good. You have a great channel; many great additions to the updated layout.
My Biggest is a MTH Erie Triplex PS-2 And a Visionline CC-2.
Thanks for watching Randy. I would definitely like to get my hands on a triplex someday. They are fantastic engines...
Another great Video Bob, that C&O doubleheader of your Allegheny and Greenbrier is awesome, can’t wait to see coal hoppers behind those engines.👍
Thank you Eric. Hoppers are on my short list, but not doing anything until I get home from 614. Thanks for watching..
Great intro🚂❤️😎👍awesome video

Thank you Joey. Ive had the pleasure of seeing the one in Baltimore a few times. They are just massive engines. Like the Bog Boy- maybe someday we can see one restored.

Bob you are the man.You motervate me man.Hey Bob consider building a highway using German Carrera digital remote control slot car Track. You can run 124 scale cars on the track and its perfect scale for ogauge Trains.Having a highway running along the Railroad 👍
Thank you for watching. Great suggestion. It may very well happen..
Nice Engines Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Thank you Coverdale. Enjoy the holiday as well.
I didn't know Mike Erhmantraut collected trains
Yes indeed as well as a few other interesting things.
Give me heads up, iam close to clifton, I go there often.
Hi Guss I get there next Thursday morning the 7th staying until Saturday the 9th of July. A week from today I arrive.
@@bobnileski614 ok that sounds like a plan, there is another o gauge display there from what I have been told is a reproduction of a lionel display layout.
Looks like a plan got a open day on Thursday. See you at the C&O center.
she's a beauty - would love to have one but my layout is too small!
Thanks for watching Edward, why not check into the railking version? Its a great piece and I think it does 0-36. I appreciate your support.
@@BobsOGaugeTrains Normally that would be a great idea - however I just retired this past week (finally - yay!) and money is going to be tight. Still, it's something to keep in the back of my head. I have three layouts out in The Cave the larger has 0-54 curves on the outer loop, so that would work.
Nice Allegheny Bob. ROW made one as well but it’s made of brass. Do you have any brass engines?
As od now I dont I had a Weaver brass L1 many years ago but sold it. All of my steamers now are die cast.
