Here's a look at Nile Rodgers guitar part on 'I Want Your Love' Chic
The original recording has a double guitar part panned left and right. Both parts seem quite similar, although the right side seems more staccato. Adding more of a percussive sound to the track.
I focused on transcribing the left side of the recording. Therefore I've panned my playing to right.
This track is a great workout for the funk rhythm guitar style. And although the part can be seen as quite simple, the difficultly is keeping the rhythm tight and consistent! This is only the single version, if you get the hang of this, play along with the album version which is over 6 minutes long. Fantastic for building stamina.
Also, to me it sounds like the pickup selection is in the 4th position, neck and middle.
