To be fair I think that's sound traveling through the GoPro mount. I've done recordings like that with mine and they do the same thing.

Heck yeah! This is what we needed, a car that's the same price (if not, cheaper then gasoline cars). I will save up the money, and hopefully by then, they'll be a dealership near me! If not, I'm sure I could have it shipped to me. Who knows, I might win on the lottery!

*Edit - After seeing the K23 in white and black 27 and with number plates on, these cars actually look pretty decent (check the launch event video). Somehow blue and red don't suit the design. They're actually growing on me. I think I would actually buy the 27 if I was in the US and got in the first 1000 deposits.
Would have loved to see the K27, as that's the car that's really hit the headlines.
Despite the look, the K23 does seem very practical with good use of space and balance of features. But I have to be honest and say, these are 2 of the ugliest EVs on the market (maybe taste is different in China)? I don't mean to offend, I think Kandi is great and there is so much potential here. It just hurts to see it possibly get kicked to the curb because of styling. Simplifying the front of the K23 would go a long way. It's such a contradiction of aggressive design mixed with.... grandma's handbag...
The K27 does at least have some cuteness appeal. But again, if the front cutout wasn't there it would be much nicer. Somehow that little cutout/inlet makes the whole car look really cheap. Slapping a fake number plate on in publications might help temporarily?
Is it necessary for cooling? I tried a quick paint over in photoshop and simply smoothing over this area made a massive difference. If this is a single piece, maybe a modification might be achievable? It looks even better with a bit of the smile styling worked in for the intake instead... If anyone from Kandi reads this, seriously, I would love to send the sketches or help with feedback... I have extensive experience in 3D/2D design and would be happy to help in any way as there is so much potential here. Light & small makes so much sense for EVs and this market has so much room to grow.
The K22 theme is such a great style choice. Being cute and unique it negates price factors in the way the mini wasn't luxury or cheap, anyone could own one. I imagine the last thing an American buyer wants right now is for his cheap Chinese car to stand out more. It has to be unique in a really good way or not unique at all.

Nothing. It’s called researching a new brand thoroughly and putting facts out on a public forum to educate consumers. The EV market is mostly luxury and high end vehicles and an economy model that more people can afford has been ignored by most manufacturers. There is certainly a market for a low cost EV that many people can afford. I wish Tesla was the first to go after this segment because I love Tesla as a company and the product they sell the public. Unfortunately Tesla didn’t see long term benefits and profitability and ignored this segment at least for now and someone seized the opportunity to go after this market of consumers. I wish I wasn’t buying from a foreign country but give someone credit for going after this market.

The truth is somewhere in the middle. The test track they used for the 188 is different than the test track used by the EPA. Also, you can get closer to the 188 number if you lay off the "Sport Mode" and don;t run your Heater or A.C. on full blast, or if you drive on either a very hot or very cold day. etc.

This is just a practical design. There are better looking EVs but think about it.
      1. Its small/narrow to reduce weight and because there isnt an engine to force the car to be wider.
      2. Its not no noticeable bonnet because it doesnt need one and theres cargo room in the back.
      3. Its got small wheels to maximise interior space.
      4. And its long to maximise interior space, knee room and boot space.
Its not the prettiest car on the road by a long shot but from a practical standpoint, its near perfect.

Kandi has made similar claims before, pointing to the company having been "certified" or "approved" by NHTSA as proof of the cars' safety. But that's not how it works.
NHTSA does not certify companies or cars. Manufacturers themselves must "certify that their products comply with all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards and must ensure they are free of safety-related defects," according to a statement from NHTSA.
NHTSA does not proactively test cars before they go on sale in the US, although the agency may check them afterward to ensure compliance, said Coleman Sachs, an auto industry consultant.
Kandi said that its cars, which have been used for car sharing services in China, have passed crash tests there. Kandi has made cars in China since 2007, a Kandi spokesperson said. The new K23 and K27, which are not yet on China's roads, are similar to earlier Kandi models available there, the spokesperson said in an email. www.msn.com/en-us/money/news/this-tiny-electric-car-could-cost-just-dollar10000-in-the-us-but-there-are-tradeoffs/ar-BB18oGrz

However, despite guidance from Kandi America, CNN reporters in China were unable to find any records of crash tests of the K23, K27, or other Kandi models in China. Kandi also did not share its own documentation of crash tests based on either Chinese or US testing standards despite repeated requests from CNN.

Why I buy this instead of a used EV with a similar price? Old Kia Soul EV is bigger than this, similar range, and better structure, faster charging, and cheaper. A used Fiat 500E is a better car than K27 and charge faster. A used Spark EV is cheaper than K27 with similar spec. They are all from well-reputed companies, not from an unknown Kandi.
And all used EV usually has only 20k to 30k miles, which is low for a car. Also, buying a used EV is better for the environment than a new cheap EV.

    • @ChuKokSiuMing
      @ChuKokSiuMing 3 роки тому

@@christopherwalkinalloverya5824 you are wrong, many used ev drove less than 30k and still running good. If both batteries are in same technology and capacity, the new ev lasts only 30k more by you, which is 2 to 3 years. However, the car itself is better than this. @@markplott4820 Ever heard of a software limit. I'm not saying the vehicle wasn't designed for roads, it was at least for roads in China, I'm just saying they've only been able to sell it as a NEV in the US so far which of course means a software lock on the speed. Really, just hit their US website and this is apparent or is it just that you like making things up when you BS.

A few hours, but it’s all about swapping the batteries out. Takes like 2 mins and you’ve got a battery with a full charge.

If you plug it in with the 240V charger, it will take 7.5 hours if charging it from empty. If you plug it with a 120V charger it will be about 2x that long. But usually your car is not running entirely on empty.

When California starts fixing the craters on their road starting at the border from Tijuana, all the way to the Oregon line, otherwise the little car is bound to last less than half its warranty period!

They are truly on to something good.. To bad they don’t have a similarity of design for the front of their vehicle; it would be even better when they have battery swapping with Amp technology.

I really hate the 27. but the 23 is nice. I like the exterior design of it and the range. The 27 looks too much like a mini cooper which I hate too. and with 53mi range, I couldn't even get to work and back unless I charged at work too. I work like 50mi away from home. Would be very risky. probably some decent ranged used evs out there though for a good 15k.
