And it's sad.
Haltmann's goal was to bring back his daughter, Susie. the Susie the player sees in-game is implied to be a being made by Super Nova, and not his actual daughter. That is implied here, by the subservient nature of this Susie. So, what Haltmann was trying to do throughout the game was bring back his actual daughter, and have more than just the soulless body of Susie that we see.
youre incorrect, thrers only one susie all along, the game director s even stated that susie lost and eventually return, but due to often use the star dream helmet, haltmann eventually lost his memories and eventually forgot that she was his daughter
You see the thing was that it was all Star Dream's fault. Each time Haltmann used the interface which was controlling Star Dream Star Dream was actually destroying his mind. Eventually Haltmann lost his sanity to the point where he could not recognize his daughter and was turned into a raging lunatic. By the time he finally comes to his senses and realizes Star Dream was using him it was to late. He was already absorbed by the OS and Kirby had no choice but to destroy what was left of him along with Star Dream. I find the relationship between Haltmann and Star Dream to be similar to Sectonia and Dark Meta Knight. Both were being used as puppets or pawns by an actual evil antagonist and used to be good people before their corruption. If only there was some way to save both of them. Wait maybe there is? Meta Knight revived the original Nova to fight Galacta Knight so the original Nova may still be out there. Maybe if someone wished to Nova for them to come back they might return to life. Unlike Star Dream Nova is actually a nice guy who obeys those that request their wishes so if a good wish was made I doubt their would be a catch unlike with Star Dream who is an ungrateful lying manipulator.
Well the thing was there was an "accident" involving the Mother Computer which sent Susie to Another Dimension. The same last world from Return To Dreamland. The thing is though considering how much of a manipulative jerk Star Dream is it could be possible that he did that to Susie on purpose so he could take advantage of a broken Max Haltmann more easily. Star Dream then erased Haltmann's memories of Susie then had Haltmann build him an army of robots such as Gigavolts as well as mechanize a good deal of the planets in the solar system. Shiver Star is a notable example of a harvested planet by Star Dream. Susie after escaping the dimension (maybe the now reformed Magolor helped her with that) she pretended to work for Haltmann to sabotage Star Dream's plan and try to stop the Mother Computer and well you saw how well that went. Needless to say Star Dream had everything already planned out and it was far to late to stop him. He assimilated Haltmann completely, took complete control of the HWC, and then declared that all life in the universe is serving as a detriment and must be destroyed for "peace and prosperity". The thing with Star Dream is that because he is an artificial intelligence he has no sense of morality or even emotion and as such has no qualms with mass homicide and genocide even on a universal scale. Heck Star Dream's true form is not just the angel computer but the ark itself which is his true body. The angel computer system is just the top portion of him and when you destroy the parts of the ark to reveal Star Dream's true form he is constantly smiling at you like a smug kitten indicating that he is perfectly content with carrying out his plans and going on a killing spree all while making this face. :3. May I remind you that this is a family game. Oh and don't even get me started on the battle with his core form where you destroy the pillars and you hear Haltmann's screaming in agony.

Haltmann is one of the more tragic villains in the Kirby Series. At first I thought he was just a greedy (yet charming) enemy, but once I found out the reason behind all his doings, I felt really bad about what ended up happening to him. Sure, his goal doesn't excuse the bad things he'd done, but he didn't deserve the fate that befell him.
RIP Max Profitt Haltmann, I like your mustache.
Shmu62 Couldn't agree more. The words taken right out of my mouth. And even a year later, he's such a great villain with such a tragic end. And yes, his mustache is wonderful.
Despite his sad story, I honestly don't care about wiping him from existence in the true arena. He didn't recognize his own daughter.

It'd be one thing if his daughter really did die and he died too trying to get her back, but the fact that he lost his life trying to gain something he already had, separating himself from his daughter again because he didn't know they had reunified makes him even more tragic.

The only disappointment is that Kirby, Meta Knight, and King Dedede didn't join in as backup dancers halfway through the song.

Indeed. I kinda want to see another Kirby Anime/Cartoon. Seriously you could get so much content out of it with the development of the Kirby Series. Still I loved Tiff in that anime. Always making sure no one was being an idiot and learn martial arts just to beat up 3 bullies when she didn't want to.
Let's just hope that if that ever happens it WON'T turn out like Powerpuff Girls 2016...That is my one and only fear for a new Kirby: Right Back At Ya.
Actually, Archie wanted to make a Kirby comic (the same who do the Sonic and Megaman comics), but they wont let them.
To bad honestly, the writer of the comics could have give us more about Marx and even Dark Matter like he is doing with the Sonic characters.

A 100% cutscene that isn't another kirby dance with the cast in an auditorium? ...Cute, but I find the bloopers from Super Star Ultra to be my favorite.

I just realized. Aside from Meta Knight and Dedede, almost every character in the Kirby universe has no limbs, stub appendages, or disembodied hands and feet.
I've noticed this also, to the point where Nightmare and Simirror (and possibly Yin-Yarn) are the only magicians in the series with arms.

Ah for the past kirby games I always 100% it without being spoiled. But for this, I truly wish I got to experience this firsthand. Haltmann doesn’t remember Susie, yet she’s right there is front of him. He just wants his daughter back, but is so far gone that he can’t decipher what is real and fake anymore. So, Susie sings to Haltmann. She’s lost her father due to greed and insanity, but the one thing that she can share with him is this song. Through singing, she’s able to get a glimpse of the real haltmann, a dedicated and loving father, so when doing so, she puts in everything she’s got into it to let him know that, no matter what, she’ll always love him.

Does any one find this scene so... Lifeless and sad? Its so melanchoholic... It just reflects the sheer sadness of the story of this game, shes literally forced to sing a song about worshipping her own father (this is not that clear in the localized version but japanese makes it 100% clear) because he doesnt remember her at all, and theres nothing else she can do about it other than stay with him for the rest of her life and look for even that 1% chance of bringing him back to himself
Haltmann lost his only child, and susie her entire childhood, to some cylinder with angel wings, just think about that for a second

There's one thing that bugs me about this. The Japanese version was more of a sing-along with the characters turning red as you had to sing them. And there, it seems like you can actually sing it because the syllables match up. (Believe me, I sung it.)
But this version kinda seems strange to me after listening to the JP one because sometimes, it's hard to match the syllables with the actual song.

Professor Heavy The syllable count matches the melody, at least. You just have to hold some for longer than others.
It's not perfect, but it's a problem that almost always arises when translating songs.
It irritates me for some reason.. Probably because I listened to and sung the Japanese version first, which matched up almost perfectly. The possible reason they removed the sing along function was because they knew this.

If Susie is anything, she's lawfully neutral, not pure evil. She's not the next Marx or Magolor.

Yeah the story behind the Haltmanns is quite tragic when you think about it. The only reason why Max Profit was taking energy from the planet was to power Star Dream so it could grant his wish. Max was a broken man who just wanted his daughter back.
Ivuul Korol From what I've heard (and this could be completely wrong), i think Susie was once haltmann's daughter. She died during the making of star Dream, and so her consciousness was put in a machine. Her boss description says she mysteriously disappeared for some time, which might confirm this. Like I said, no clue if any of this is true.
I tried singing along, but given the text doesn't light up like the Japanese version does, it's hard to know when to sing what part when trying to keep with the beat a lot of the time.

I have the Spanish version of the game, and Susie... The lines she says are some of the most HILARIOUS lyrics in a song.
This is the best 100% completion reward I've ever gotten.
Despite being a song all about praising Max it has a sad tone to it, which completely fits with the reason why Susie would like and want to sing this song in the first place. Sadly Kirby wasn't able to pull off a miracle this time.
