This is, in my opinion at least, the most underrated musical piece in the entire Sonic franchise. As great as phase 2 is, I don't think this one is that far behind it. I'd go so far as to call it the most intimidating theme Eggman has ever been given. Imagine if this played when he blew up half the moon in Sonic Adventure 2. Hell, imagine if this played when Perfect Chaos attacked Station Square in Sonic Adventure 1. This piece could be used for so many dramatic/evil situations.
*Sonic jumps over lava says* It's over Shadow, I have the high ground!! *Shadow enraged* : "You underestimate my power!! *Sonic replies* "Don't try it!" *Shadow Screams in rage* and "Slash!" *Sonic* "You're the chosen one, you should destroy the Sith not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness." *Shadow snapped* "I Hate You!!!" Sonic: "You're my brother Shadow... I loved you." *Sonic took shadow's lightsaber and leaves* *Shadow burns and screams* The boss music ends. "To be Continued."
"CURSE YOU, SONIC! Not only do you foil my schemes, but you foil my speeches as well! I work hard on them! No matter. I WILL destroy you, and I WILL be victorious! ...Is that better?"
This song marks the beginning of Eggman's return to greatness. Everyone thought he'd hit his peak after wrecking the moon. Yes, he had his moments after that, but he was always eclipsed at the end of the game by the monster he was trying to control. Colors was his grand reboot. No longer will the doctor play second fiddle to anyone. Sonic Colors: Nearly succeeds in brainwashing the whole planet Generations: actually manages to control a universe-destroying monster and wipe out Sonic for good.
While I know this is a 6 year old comment, why does it not mention the fact that in Sonic Unleashed he broke up an entire planet into pieces and actually managed to create his so called 'eggmanland'
Better get wiped out of frame by a literal god than having Sonic blast you into space himself after a bossfight that would return another 2 times (Using the exact same mechanics) in the future.
+That American Narrator Listen to Solaris phase 1 and perfect dark gaia phase 1 too. I think the phase 1 soundtracks are used to show the chaotic situation. (sorry for my bad english btw)

odioalospoopers Except in Shadow the Hedgehog and *_especially_* Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. ... seriously. Shadow's music was simply meh, but what happened in Dark Brotherhood? Holy hell.
The "Oh Shit" track when you realize Eggman is back as the final boss again and isn't fucking around after Adventure, Adventure 2, Heroes, Shadow, 06 (even if it never happened), Secret Rings, Unleashed, and Black Knight.
Best Part- 2:50-3:29; The music is so enchanting and epic with the eerie chorus in the background and intense preceding drum beat with powerful instrumental tune making this a great final boss theme. I love it so much.
This sounds suspiciously similar to "IDOLA" da Sledge of Destruction (Dark Falz Elder theme) from Phantasy Star Online 2. Same composer and all, but the resemblance is uncanny.
Another great job Truesonic1! This game seems like it will be very fun to watch =). I hope that all is well with you and plz continue to do your best at whatever you're committed to!
That little plastic bastard has been haunting me ever since I was little. Now it's been a year and a few months since I've gotten over this corrupted fear
I hope this boss gets a full revamp and has more powers... it only used 3 (4 if you count frenzy, I don't.) out of 7 wisps. the DS version used all the wisps in that game and it was great. It wouldn't be that hard to include some more, the missing ones are drill, rocket, hover and frenzy. so I'll spit out an idea for each because I have nothing better to do. Drill: The boss uses it's 2 tentacles as drills and thrusts them at sonic like a lance, the thrust takes up 2 lanes and has a quick warning for what side is about to be attacked, so sonic has to quick step to the opposite edge to dodge. the speed can be varied for difficulty build up later in the fight. Rocket: Seems simple enough, missiles seem right up eggman's technological alley. The boss can spit a few purple rockets out of it's mouth (like it does the spikeballs) and have them fly down at sonic, either trying to hit him directly or landing in front and making a small explosion that needs to be avoided. Personally, I like the idea of a direct attack with no warning and having the rockets come down at a fair pace. for added difficulty, rockets could come down more frequently or 2 at a time. Hover: Now this is probably the hardest one to use. It's pure utility with basically no offence... Hmm, I've made two side step dodge attacks so I'd like to have sonic jump to avoid this... How about if the boss tucked it's tentacles in and hovered up for a short time before slamming down and making a wave attack? Kinda similar to the spike attack though so I don't like it. Maybe hover could be a jumping homing attack dodge, like the boss could spit some purple hover wisp looking things to attack sonic and you'd have to jump and homing attack a small chain of them to avoid a tentacle sweeping attack from the boss? That's more unique but it might be a little bit hard to get that concept across in gameplay... A big warning from the side and seeing the boss wind up for the sweep might help... Maybe making the enemies those flying purple homing attack fodder enemies would be clearer but that wouldn't fit the theme as well. Frenzy: I always wondered why the boss came close to sonic for no reason... Intimidation? possible but after getting hit over and over, you think Mr 300 IQ would learn his lesson about letting sonic attack him. But what if the boss got close to do an attack? That would give a decent reason for the boss approaching and it IS based on a frenzy wisp after all... Maybe the attack method could be tweaked so that only the tentacles approach and try to bite sonic. I'm thinking that both tentacles could open their mouths and dive in from the sides to try to bite sonic and, if sonic jumps to dodge as intended, bite each other instead (originally I said bite into the ground but I didn't consider the fact that the fight is moving, duh) leaving them stuck together and vulnerable to homing attacks. Then sonic homing attacks up one of the arms like the original and lands a hit. If you actually read all that... thanks I guess? I'm just hype for colours ultimate and want the boss to be better because I found it kinda easy and a little disappointing in the gameplay.
Behind all the temper tantrums, the two idiot robotic butlers, the cartoonish appearance, the theatricality, is nothing more than a mad man who is willing to do ANYTHING to conquer the universe. This close...he’s had enough, this is it. It’s a shame such a epic theme is in...this game.
I actually agree with this. What I was saying just related to how Sega make their stories nowadays; I would love to see another SA2-like story. I would play the heck out of it.
@Mikugumii Oooh man I know right? I can already see it now. A EPIC final boss fight using both classic and modern super sonic with a very awesome orchastrated soundtrack. The final boss with have 2 phases!
@TFSTACHE Because if they included this boss, it would likely have had the distinction of being the only boss in Generations that would have been nearly identical to its original appearance. Since Egg Dragoon was originally fought with the Werehog, we got a completely new battle; even if it's technically the same boss, the way you fight it is completely different.
the best part about the no chaos emeralds is that we see how far sonic has come in purely his own abilities. to see him win the day with his own strength and skills, i find more epic than using the chaos emeralds to turn super.
@2583060 Sonic Colors was the first 3D game to have Super Sonic playable on any stage. You have to collect all 180 Red Rings from every Act, and beat every stage in Game Land. THEN you'll get him.
Yet no one talks about this boss like people talk about Perfect Chaos or The Final Hazard. And the boss has nearly nothing to do with wisps story wise, Dr.Eggman just wants to kill Sonic.
Boss The Nega-Wisp Armor The Nega-Wisp Armor serves as the final boss for the Wii version of Sonic Colors. Like the other acts, Sonic is always in a seemingly endless 3D road where he is able use Quick Step. Eggman harnesses several types of Wisps for his various attacks. After each attack, the Nega-Wisp Armor powers down, allowing the player to use a series of Homing Attacks to eventually reach the cockpit to damage the Nega-Wisp Armor. The player can also boost for an additional hit and some Rings. After taking a few blows, all Wisps will move alongside Sonic where eventually the Nega-Wisp Armor is no longer able to attack and is close to defeat. Sonic must use all the Wisps' abilities at once, called the Final Color Blaster, to finish off the Nega-Wisp Armor and end the boss fight.
I don't mind the other Sonic games having Sonic fighting other enemies as final bosses. A little variety is good every now and then. I unfortunately do not own a Wii to play this game, but it looks really satisfying to see Robotnik as the main baddy again.
I hope so. It really says something that the two highest selling Sonic games after the Adventure series stopped pulling bosses out of nowhere and got back to what made the Classic series so popular. Think about it, the great game heroes each have a rival. Mario has Bowser, Link has Gannondorf/Demise, Kirby has Meta Knight, and Sonic has Dr. Robotnik. Eggman: No one calls me that anymore, thanks to Sonic's insults. I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!
This is the theme that plays when Sigma, Bowser, Sepiroth, Dr. Eggman, Dr. Wily, Razorbeard, Porky, Ganondorf, Emporor Bulblax, Gary Oak, Yami, Ridley, The Enderdragon, The Time Devourer and Dr. Zomboss meet in a battle to the death to determine the best villian.
@SonicAnimationz ... Am I the only one who freaked out when he didn't see a Super Sonic final boss? Getting those darn Red Rings can be a real chore, especially Sweet Mountain... GOD I hate that zone...
Actually, I AGREE. Generations` gameplay was some of the best Sonic`s had in years. Story wise, Colors is better, but what I should`ve remember when writing my first comment is that Sonic doesn`t really need developed storylines; all that really matters is top-notch gameplay.
I never played Sonic Generations, but based on the videos I've seen, it's clear that THIS final boss is far more intimidating relative to Time Eater! Not only is Eggman's plot NOT riddled with holes (why would he wipe out Sky Sanctuary, his first legit rise to power?), but the tutorial can't even HELP you! All it is is just static! I never thought I'd say it, but I MISS OMOCHAO!!!
Also, he's an actual fucking robot from another dimension that, at first, teamed up with Robotnik and then killed him later on and took his place in secrecy. And just when they thought they had gotten rid of him, he transferred his memory into another body, the SA1 one. I never read the comics, but reading that on the wiki made me go "Holy shit..."
He kind of "decayed" in Heroes, Shadow and 06. But nowadays... well yeah, blowing up the Earh, creating a black hole and erasing time and space is kind of awesome.
@TFSTACHE Unfortunately Sega thought this boss appearance came to close to Generations in timeline and went for an older boss that didn't require Super Sonic, which happens to be Egg Dragoon. :(
Check a few Sonic Message Boards, and you'll likely hear "I miss the Genesis games when Robotnik was an actual threat." And yet they completely ignore his accomplishments like...
The infamous Egg Viper, defeating the Tornado in Sky Chase, outsmarting the heroes on several occasions in SA1. Breaking into a Military Base TWICE, launching Sonic into space, and BLOWING UP HALF OF THE MOON WITH A DEATH LASER in SA2! Defeating Super Sonic in Unleashed, and nearly succeeding in brainwashing the Earth in Colors were it not for one malfunction. Who says Eggman has decayed as a villain?! Sorry for accidentally double-posting.
when I first heard this song I was kinda scared of it at first. but damn its damn epic!! I swear music like this should be praised on how epic it is. (I myself never played sonic colors, because have no wii.) THIS speaks robotink somehow.
That's actually not so uncanny if you've played Unleashed or Chronicles. Robotnik was always saying how he wanted to build Eggman-land/ the Eggman Empire, and if you think about it; a giant mind-control cannon disguised as a theme park isn't too out of place.
@rcrsoccerkid Hint: Use boost right after you hit robotnik to give him another strike, then you can at least get an A even you lose rings during the fight.
They could have added some of the wisps that they didn't use the first time around. Keep in mind that the only ones used were Spike, Cube, and Laser. I feel that they could have done more with Frenzy, Rocket, and Drill.
Eggman- what can I do to beat sonic? Oh I know! *knocks on sephiroth's door* Sephiroth - what? Eggman- lemme use some of your orchestra! It's really important!!!
Epic song to say the least. I think the best part is 2:50 - 3:30 Man, Hide Kobayashi can write epic music! (At least I'm pretty sure it's him. I know he composed for this as well as other Sonic games like 06 and Unleashed and this song sounds like his style.)
The final boss is FINALLY Eggman! Not some Dark Gaia or Metal Overlord, nothing betrays him, just a epic battle with Baldy McNosehair and making him "Taste the Rainbow" as everyone says.
@eddylugia he is still Dr ivo Robotnik, Eggman is a name sonic gave him due to his appearance, he looks like an egg with legs, the name kind of stuck and now "Eggman" likes it to the point of labling his robots it
Well, technically, there is some "fate of the universe" involved. I mean, Eggman did plan on taking control of the whole universe with his mind control weapon.
This is, in my opinion at least, the most underrated musical piece in the entire Sonic franchise. As great as phase 2 is, I don't think this one is that far behind it. "CURSE YOU, SONIC! Not only do you foil my schemes, but you foil my speeches as well! I work hard on them! No matter. I WILL destroy you, and I WILL be victorious! ...Is that better?"
"Like, a million times better. Thank you."
Shadic The Hedgehog "This robot is special! It inherits the power of your little alien friends! So I'd say it's been nice knowing you, but it hasn't."
Omar Elmosrati *turns to Tails* "See you on the ground, buddy!" *pushes Tails into elevator* "Just one last thing to do!"
Shadic The Hedgehog "As for you!"
After that, the epic boss battle starts. Thus ending an amazing game.
Omar Elmosrati It inherits the power? I didn't know the wisps had a will.

The Nega-Wisp Armor
The Nega-Wisp Armor serves as the final boss for the Wii version of Sonic Colors. Like the other acts, Sonic is always in a seemingly endless 3D road where he is able use Quick Step.

Defeating Super Sonic in Unleashed, and nearly succeeding in brainwashing the Earth in Colors were it not for one malfunction. Who says Eggman has decayed as a villain?!
Sorry for accidentally double-posting.
Just AWESOME!
@The94Venom
I don't have the 3DS version, so I have to take your word for it. I was speaking on the console version, since I played it.
so epic to the point of being a tad bit scary
when I first heard this song I was kinda scared of it at first. but damn its damn epic!!
@rcrsoccerkid Hint: Use boost right after you hit robotnik to give him another strike, then you can at least get an A even you lose rings during the fight.
even though the boss was to easy i enjoyed it ive been waiting for a final dr eggman boss like this and a theme like this =D
I like how it's just Sonic vs Robotnik as the final boss for once. No chaos emeralds.
@PokemonKid100 let me put it this way what do you prefer a final boss as super sonic or the ability to be super sonic everywhere and anytime
They could have added some of the wisps that they didn't use the first time around. Keep in mind that the only ones used were Spike, Cube, and Laser. I feel that they could have done more with Frenzy, Rocket, and Drill.
Eggman- what can I do to beat sonic? Oh I know!
*knocks on sephiroth's door*
Sephiroth - what?
Eggman- lemme use some of your orchestra! It's really important!!!
Hedgehog of War: Chains of the Eggman Empire
Epic song to say the least.
I think the best part is 2:50 - 3:30
Man, Hide Kobayashi can write epic music!
(At least I'm pretty sure it's him. I know he composed for this as well as other Sonic games like 06 and Unleashed and this song sounds like his style.)
2:50 - 3:30
This song reminds me of "The Legend of Spyro" :D
The chorus, of course.
BACK TO THE CLASICS BABY!!!!
This plays when Saturday Morning Robotnik, Snively, Mephiles, & Tails Doll returns in 2022, & joined forces together to kill all Sonic characters. 😈
I bet he has a hundred thousand bases all ready for him and is maniacal plans.
The final boss is FINALLY Eggman! Not some Dark Gaia or Metal Overlord, nothing betrays him, just a epic battle with Baldy McNosehair and making him "Taste the Rainbow" as everyone says.
This just rubs in the fact that Eggman is the final boss for the first time in Sonic's 3D career.
@eddylugia
he is still Dr ivo Robotnik, Eggman is a name sonic gave him due to his appearance, he looks like an egg with legs, the name kind of stuck and now "Eggman" likes it to the point of labling his robots it
This is the best sonic boss theme
In my opion with phase 2
Sonic technically saved the world on the first boss, since there was that robot arm that happened to screw Baldy McNosehair's plans over.
Well, technically, there is some "fate of the universe" involved. I mean, Eggman did plan on taking control of the whole universe with his mind control weapon.
Laser! Drill! Spikes! Hover! Cube! Rocket! Frenzee! If Burst was part of this final color blasterbefore sonic generations this would be overkill!
