About the whole subscriber thing, yeah sure a lot of other UA-cams have millions of them, but this is the only channel that has never posted an apology video or has any drama or aren't depressed. You guys are a breath of fresh air to the online community. Be proud to have the strongest bit of loyal fans who love you guys rather than the disconnect of millions. Thanks for what you do bros!
That's how I think about it. I feel like I have an actual connection to the boys from watching hundreds of hours of their content, and I feel like the truly appreciate the subs they have. Derricks negativity about their success makes me sad, because while I understand his frustration, I also understand that their content is for a niche audience, and UA-cam just favors the generic advertiser friendly schlock that all the kids eat up. Mega64 is the thinking man's channel
Totally agree. I want Mega64 to be successful and reach a wider audience. But I’m also very happy of their underrated status because they have a very loyal fanbase and they are geniuses at adapting their content. They don’t go high and crash hard like a lot of more famous youtubers who don’t make content anymore.
@@lopey5035 Derrick's attitude the entire last year just makes me feel sad
@@lopey5035 Derrick can't complain about their success when he insists on making HeartSlayers. The last thing i come to Mega64 for is dating advice. Also, they need to make more "bad fx" parodies to easily draw in millions (look at their DBZ parodies. Mainstream numbers.)
@@Hwood88 Derek feels like he's completely fallen out of love with video games and anything related to them, and just comes to work every day because he has no idea what to do with his life next.

If you don't watch all of the content then are you truly a 64 fan?
I have mixed feelings on the AVGN's actual content but him as a person has always come off as one of the most interesting and nice people to be a popular UA-camr. His behind the scenes stuff is extremely interesting and well delivered and you can tell he has been passionate about making little movies for fun his entire life.
Lol Garrett says so many homeruns that nobody really acknowledges. When Derrick was requesting phone calls for Heart Slayers he said "We know you got phones", referencing that Diablo thing
"Who are these detractors? John Deere?" Is my personal favorite.
Garrett is always subtly witty. He says quick lines that get drowned out by Rocco and Derrick's bits usually.
I gotta say it, Rocco’s Nicholson is better than Derrick’s.
Rocco saying "Joker update" and Garrett going "WHAT??" was exactly what I was hoping for today.
It was Shawn saying "what??" at 28:49 but I am with you on being excited for another "Joker Update".
@@trentm.364 Oh damn, you're right. The desperation-surprise levels in the voice tricked me.
I can't wait for the scene in joker where the people piss on the subway
Might be real
i think both derrick and rocco think its a control issue, but its most likely they get stuck in recovery frames or preloaded abilities and try to mash out of it. Think about combat in sekiro as a rhythm experience and your life will be easier.
Nicholas Hansen I agree. Dark souls was even more strict about finishing animations before allowing you to do something else. Sekiro at least has some interruptible animations like blocking and attacking. It will never be like a God of war game though which basically allows you to button mash
I agree. I thought the parry button wasn't responsive for a while until I realized I couldn't cancel out of some attack frames and it was me spamming the attack button that caused the block to not work.
Honestly it is more responsive than it looks, there is some very minor animation cancelling you can do to dodge, jump, or deflect at the start and end of your attack animation.
So attack spam and deflect when they parry you can usually keep pressure up.
Yeah, the thing about FromSoft games is that they queue your button presses. If you mash attack, you're going to keep attacking even if you try to dodge/jump/block out of it. Sekiro is slightly more forgiving in a lot of respects because as long as you hit block before you actually swing, you can cancel into a feint, which is useful in its own right.
Enemies can do this too by the way, i've had moments we both are about to attack and then swap to deflecting lol @@dasutin
The Joker trailer looks fucking good. As long as the movie is just a longer version of the trailer, I'm good.
I can't wait to see the new Joker movie because at the end of the movie Joaquin Phoenix will to turn to the camera and say the n-word
This comment fucking got me.

Not trying to give Derrick shit, but the control inputs in Sekiro queue up. They don't happen instantly. That may be the issue you're having? Certain actions negate others in the input queue.
Yes, I absolutely get where they're coming from. When I was listening to them complain about buttons not working I was like "huh, that never happens to me". But then I remembered shouting in rage a couple dozen times at the start of the game shit like "I FUCKING PRESSED L1, IT DIDN'T FUCKING WORK WHAT THE FUCK I PRESSED L1". And then I realized that was before I realized certain inputs either don't trigger during certain animations, like after I'm hit by an attack or after I dodge, or it just queues up after said animation. Now I just know not to spam a button and expect it to work whenever I want, so if I want to block an attack, I can't have my cake and eat it too, so I don't absent-mindedly spam dodge and expect to be able to block an attack at the same time as Sekiro is in the middle of that dodge animation.
It works exactly like a fighting game. You can't jump in the middle of a Hadouken, you can't block if youre already spamming the punch button.
The bigger problem I had with the game than anything is that there were a few times I kept using my combat arts when I didn't want cause I wanted to attack while blocking.
BathroomTile Right. But I wouldn’t say the game is “broken”. The controls are consistent. There are just more rules and mechanics and specificity required to execute commands. The same as other From games.
Bamith can you not re-spec controls, to suit your preference? But yeah, letting go of block to attack is something that takes some getting used to. But again, I don’t think that’s a “problem”.
Do Heartslayers live if you want calls.
You guys should get a billboard for heartslayers. See what happens. It's honestly a pretty enjoyable little thing to listen to.
I just saw Threads and I wasn't expecting something of that quality. It's a really solid recommendation for everyone who is even a pinch interested in the subject.
My favorite 30 Seconds to Mars song is Teenage Dirtbag
I'm sorry Derrick I don't have the guts to call Heartslayers
the developers of heartslayers owes it to their fan to add an easy mode
I love that you guys got posivibes at PAX. I seriously love watching you guys, I appreciate your continued passion and determination to produce the content you guys want to make, even though you are vastly underappreciated on this website filled with so much garbage. You guys are the diamond in the rough, and I'll continue to support you in the (hopefully) years to come
You guys gotta give the viewers a warm safe space to go to. Also It would probably be good to have the cameras in tighter or some ferns or something partially covering up your bodies. There's too much body language, it's doesn't add much to a long podcast format thing. Maybe be willing to cut away more often to pictures n stuff, split screen maybe.
Rocco needs an intervention when it comes to this Disney stuff.
The amount of money rocco spends on dumb crap is kind of gross to me. Why would I support a patreon while rocco spends thousands on literal toys. I get that "its seperate" and it pays for more people to be on staff, but its still not a good fucking look. Something just doesn't feel right about having a patreon and also having figure updates all the damn time. I get that I'm also just a fan, but when you have a patreon, your financials should be a little more transparent. Glad you guys are still around though, been a fan since v1, but who the hell buys blurays of movies you haven't even seen yet?
echee man yeesh
I think Derrick would love Come and See. Probably one of the most intense war movies where they used live ammo and main actor actually became malnourished with grey hair by the end of filming.
He talked about that movie in a aftershow once a while ago when a caller mentioned it. He really enjoyed it if I recall correctly.
The "control" problem with Sekiro is part of the way Fromsoftware makes those games; actions have hard commitments to them that prevent other actions from being taken for a small amount of time.
Also Ninja Gaiden is one of the greatest of all time :) I love it and Sekiro!
Hey Derrick I know you're used to putting your foot into your mouth, but Scorsese is producing the Joker movie, and the director said it's inspired by Taxi Driver, so that "naive" guy in the comments wasn't so naive.
I was waiting for a "falling down" plug
Love when Derrick acts like a smug dipshit to the chat.
Isn't the Dan Schneider "rumors" entirely from 4chan /tv/? It's like it's getting memed into reality.
So Frank’s part of the crew now? Damn
They let Garrett get away with saying "The 40's was a good year"
Someone is going to point out all the white nationalists Garrett follows on Twitter and things are going to change on the podcast. Sad day :(
all zero of them
I remember my first souls game...
Threads is fantastic, highly recommend.
never felt like sekiro had any control issues whatsoever, Derick was probably trying to do stuff mid animation, like attacking more times than he was supposed to, and getting locked at an attack animation, and not being able to block, so...thats on you, not the game
Great podcast even tho ur wrong about Sekiro...listen to Frank
Derrick’s Adam Sandler as the joker impression is the best thing ever!
I loved that Bart Simpson's Guide to Life book. I remember none of my teachers would ever let me do a book report on it because it didn't have a plot.
Shout out to Derrick with the sick Tik Tok dances
I really hope they catch on
1:06:02 I loved "The Jolly Mon" as a kid too haha. It looks like Shawn is officially a Parrothead.
Adam Sandler the guy is legit funny, like in interviews and normal conversations I find him to be very charming
The control issues are almost certainly an FPS problem. Consoles are stuck to 30 and a lot of people who report responsiveness issues are playing the 30 fps version.
Rocco's experience with Adam Sandler is like when you talk about something and start seeing ads for it
Nearly every mafia gangster movie has a psychopath murderer as a protagonist
Official Feetcast when Rocco?
Derrick turning it into NegativeCast as per Usge
I disagree, but i wish derrick and frank went more into their thoughts on sekiro. i thought things got real interesting when frank said, no the controls are fine. ive only seen gameplay, im not sure whos right or wrong. is it broken? could be real.
Mega64 Patreon Popcorn Bucket
Doubt you guys will ever read this but I think the controls issue in Sekiro might just be that pushing buttons too fast can result in those actions cueing up before the game can catch up to the next inputs, which is intentional. Also sometimes if you're in the middle of some actions or have some buttons still held down you can't do other actions (if you're holding the attack button but not attacking it won't let you block til you let go of the attack button for example). I can only speak for the ps4 version when I say I experienced no real input delay, but I did have my lock on broken by camera issues in a few tight cave locations. Sorry if From fans were being dicks in the chat, glad you guys are enjoying the game though!
which one is mega and which one is 64
Rocco is Mega, Sean is 6, Derrick is 4.
Meg-A-64 but she isn't here today 🤔
Podcasts are the shit. You guy should never stop
I'm beyond happy that Rocco name-dropped Ward Kimball. Mad respect, man.
THE JORKMAN COMETH
Threads is a great movie. I got to see it in the theater at the belcourt in nashville
Bring back Whoopi. This show isn't the same without her.
That Bart Simpson's Guide to Life should go in a museum
I loved my copy of Bart Simpsons guide to life. I must’ve read through it a thousand times, and I never left the house without it. So go figure stupid kid me goes and leaves it on a plane one day! I miss that book. Can definitely see why you’d put it in your cool box, Derrick.
Love watching this podcast while eating a delicious Whopper™ from Burger King™.
Undertale is way more Reddit and Memey than Sekiro
Im with you about the controls. Also for a game that basically forces you to use stealth in a few situations, the stealth mechanics in Sekiro are some of the worst I’ve seen in a game.
1:00:52 Holy shit I had that Taco Bell Star Wars fidget cube too haha. I bet if I dug through some of my old crap at my parent's house I could find it.
i think i was at disney the same day rocco saw Miranda Cosgrove, cause i saw her walking with her friend in front of haunted mansion, and she was being yelled at by a dad that got mad at her for bumping into his daughter because she was looking at her cellphone.
Thank you Shaun! I did have a great time.
Not gonna lie that choo choo looks pretty cool
You laughed at Adam Sandler? I cried.
The Bug's Life valentine that laid the foundation for the Heartslayer you see before you today!
Derrick, i dont think you have the audience that heartslayers needs
I referred to my cool box, as my "Treasure Box".
The coolbox reminds me of my coolbox, lol

Joker is set in the 80s and I think DC wants to do what they're doing in the comics with three separate Jokers
There have been sO MANY TIMES where my lock-on just stops working in Sekiro it's wack
Every souls game has intentionally had an input delay (not the only games to do this obviously) which sounds like what derrick was complaining about. Doesn't make his complaint less valid but its an intentionally implemented hindrance to make combat in these games slower and methodical so you choose carefully when you want to commit to doing something. Even sekiro which is supposed to be the fastest paced of them all still uses this to force you to play at the game's rhythm so you aren't just mashing away at attack and dodge and shit.
My Dad, clean shaven, looks like Jack Nicholson
Is sekiro the dark souls of our generation?
Derrick gets so confrontational when talking about movies -- jesus christ.
I listened to the audio version and thought he had a drawing of Ghostface Killah
I definitely agree with the control lag, it happens way too often during critical boss fights and holy shit is it frustrating as hell.
If you are in mid- animation the game does not let you do other actions. It’s intended. It forces you to commit.
@@adino20 It happens to me when Im moving, when Im not doing anything, the game is bugged and needs to be patched. Ive finished it and its an amazing game but if youre seriously just going to ignore the severe control bugs it has you're blind and ignorant as hell.
that's attack buffering
@@ghosttones3422 looks like your brain is the one with input lag
Threads was produced the BBC and aired on TV once during the cold war. Imagine the trauma the UK felt when that thing came on hahahah
All of these titles including Dark Souls are just conveniently buggy enough to simultaneously give the player the illusion of an unobtained skill gap whilst still not being obvious enough to warrant universal hatred. Fuck these games. I love them.
You make me want to make a podcast *like thing*
Derrick is right about the Souls franchise fans being the rick and morty fans. They just aren't as populace but are one in the same. He's also right about the unresponsiveness of controls, It's not as drastic as he exclaims but for certain from soft games are notorious for punishing players unfairly. People like to throw out the "You just aren't good" and "Sekiro has the best hitbox's of any game" but yet you still get clipped by things you dodge or parry.
Dark Souls 2 has bullshit mechanics with heavy tracking; Sekiro does the same mechanics, but you can move way faster so its actually fairly more balanced.
Some things work better than others, for example its pretty much ALWAYS a better idea to jump away from grab attacks than dodge away. Jumping is a longer range dodge with the same i-frames, regular dodging is meant to be more short range so you can move back towards the enemy faster to keep attacking.
If you want to complain about something, complain about how the camera is really annoying is smaller area and losing track of enemies.
Besides that, you can pretty much learn a trick or two on how to destroy any enemy. Example being, the mini-boss in the dojo in Ashina castle is a massive jackass and has basically just one move. You deflect his one attack by deflecting when his sword shines, but you still take a hit on his 2nd strike... I found the way to destroy this boss is you have to quickly tap deflect twice in a row instead of just once, can kill him in like 20 seconds that way.
Perfect examples. Criticisms always elicit the same responses of "Well this is how" from the blind. Giving awful advice at the same time and still maintaining "get gud" syndrome. I've already gotten through 2 playthroughs and stopped because its a single player game with no reason to continue until DLC. I encountered many times where I got hit even though I had dodged and thats all I was saying. Derrick is talking about things being entirely unresponsive.
Well you're supposed to deflect 90% of attacks rather than dodge them, which is why its supposed to be more unreliable.
I was actually impressed the game lasted me 40 hours, about the same as Dark Souls 3... But I am disappointed the NG+ isn't too interesting like Dark Souls 2 at least, so in that sense there is a lot less replayability compared to Dark Souls.
I will say NG+ feels great in a way since I made it back to Fountainhead Palace and killed all the bosses on the way in like 4 hours.
Don't speak to me or my tiny choo-choo or my son's tiny choo-choo ever again,
I disagree with Derrick so much about his idea that it's a bad idea to try to write a story that empathizes with a villainous protagonist. Unless that was just a goof that went over my head.
Miss you Frank

Derek’s rant about Sekiro’s control issue is legit the same for me when I played Dark Souls. Everyone’s answer “git gud”. In Dark Souls, when I used the flask, he wouldn’t drink the flask until 5 seconds later sometimes.
derrick is a cutie. loved his cool box
25:13 OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I always thought pretty poorly of Adam Sandler until I had a very similar experience kind of meeting him. He really is a cool and funny guy, his movies just suuuuuck
Why haven't they been changing the theme song from Horseman for the edited podcast recently?

btw how many seconds do you spend not having gamedays inbetween each gamedays? more than i spent inbetween posting my previous comment on this video and typing the first letter of this comment on this video?
59:57 i agree
Hell yea
I wanna watch Jorgo!
People still watch this?
Never had sekiro controller issues, maybe its a platform thing? I played on PC
Most games give you the option to cancel out of attacks and inputs while soulsborne games make you commit to actions that you do, which is why it feels "unresponsive" to most people. You hear these complaints for monster hunter as well from people that aren't used to that type of combat system.
This sekiro chat reminds me of MGS Rising. For some reason, as soon as I maxed out Raiden, it's like the game broke. Also that final boss was a joke; only game I've ever had to lower the difficulty just to beat the final boss...and that fucking MUSIC it plays during the final boss, as you're running towards him.
As a huge Souls fan, the comparison between the obnoxious Hardcore Souls fans to obnoxious Rick and Morty fans is spot on. Though I would say obnoxious Hardcore gamers in general are annoying.
