I would say Steel Vengeance's biggest flaw is the first drop. It's tall, and it's vertical, but it starts to lose slope like a third of the way down. Steel Vengeance is the best coaster I've been on, and that's a testament to how good the layout is, because the drop hasn't done it for me so far. Imagine if it went down into a tunnel like Raging Bull and shot back up to the top hat. Also, the back row on Twisted Colossus is stronger over the lift hill than the back row on Steel Vengeance. Not sure why that is, but on Twisted Colossus, it feels like you're getting ripped over the top in the back. I think Steel Vengeance is awesome name, especially considering other RMCs. They easily could have just gone with "Iron Streak".
SV first drop in row 12 last car is no joke you really feel it back there SV literally might be the best ever built that ride is so intense SV is way better then IS name
RMC drops seem to do that often to limit positive g forces in the valleys, which don't do wooden structures any good. That's one reason RMC tends to have weaker positive g's on their layouts, and also I believe to help make them more re-ridable.
@@weirdbeetworld4914 it’s not going to be for much longer, but then it’s going to be Thorpe Park. So I’m swapping one UKs tallest coaster for another lol.

100% agree. I can understand some of the pacing problems like the quarry crawl, and the 3rd lap on WC but they are still more forceful than 75% of any other coasters best element. I’m 6’2 so the restraints probably bother me a little more than someone that’s of an average height.
@@supremefan makes sense I guess. I wish it was like some B&M trains where they accommodate bigger people, and instead they don’t have the shin guards for us taller people
RMC’S I’ve ridden: Railblazer: over the shoulder restraints and it’s so short Joker: Back and front are the only good rows all the rest are not very good. The elements aren’t the best either twisted colossus: almost perfect but it never Duels when I ride
To me RMC’s biggest flaw, in general, is the lack of positive g’s on their rides. I like a good mix of intensity on both ends of the spectrum; however, I understand the decision to not include high positive g-force because it may be really bad for the wooden structure.
Alan Schilke has also said he's not a fan of positive G-s on wooden/hybrid coasters, which is why RMC coasters lacks positive G' filled elements, such as a vertical loop or helixes.
A friend once told me that compared the average gci to rmc and where rmc was all but moments and big shifts of forces gci made constant small force chabges that didnt feel big but gave a more out of control feel, wich is interesting
I also feel like stronger positive g’s are a turn off for the general public. Those are the coasters that cause grey outs and headaches, so they get bad reputations.
Twisted Cyclone in 2019 at Six Flags Over Georgia, other than it being a quick ride, it was very intense, thought it was great, luckily my granddaughter and I road it back-to-back. no line to wait, it open up after being shut down for rain.
The flaw with Steel Vengeance was the reliability and maintenance issues. The first year it was down a lot like Lightning Rod, and they were constantly replacing and fixing the supports for it, which is why Cedar Fair has no other RMC projects in the works...
Steel Vengeance has plenty of flaws: Ride itself: The first speed hill does nothing The hard left into the midcourse requires defensive riding (holding on / preparing yourself). The final run of bunny hills requires defensive riding (holding on / getting the lapbar right for the whole ride, something) Experience: Besides that it has operational issues limiting it to 2 trains and horrifically slow dispatches (I don't think these have been resolved?), and has had structural issues (which I think were mostly resolved after the 2018 season). It's basically impossible to ride it without waiting 30+ minutes even with fast lane+. The locker policy was a stupid cash-grab, especially when Mean Streak used to have station bins AND it caused people to have to wait 3+ hours without their phones... But it's biggest flaw is probably that it's the main contributor to the strained the relationship between RMC and Cedar Fair that hasn't produced any additional rides. While Cedar Fair only has a few decent conversion candidates hanging around, they definitely have several parks that could benefit from raptors (standard/mirrored or custom) - it's shame we haven't gotten to see that come to fruition. That said it's still my #2 overall, it's just not the "flawless" hype-fest people seem to heap on it.
0:16 to 0:21, truest statement ever made on any coaster channel, ever. CP is my home park, I ride SV all the time, here’s its flaws: 1. Huge line and it moves so slow 2. It’s so strict on loose articles and the new locker system confuses everyone. 3. It’s not as fast as it was in 2018. 4. The mid course trims regularly now. 5. They group you to a specific row and are strict about it. 6. It’s insanely unreliable. 7. The lift hill makes you deaf 8. I got one back row ride on it and didn’t even want to bother riding again even though I live 8 hours from Kings Dominion, honestly Tumbili did more for me but I’d still say this is number 3 in the park, that’s right Dominator is leagues better, and do I even have to say what number 1 is?
The one thing I dislike about SV is the sudden jolt right as the train enters the mid course brake run. Felt painful to me on all my rides, but just that bit
Steel Vengeance’s flaw is that every second of airtime just feels forced and painful. It doesn’t help they they’re stapling with the already painful RMC lap bars
Here, I’m going to update this for ArieForce One: There are two flaws on this ride. Firstly the Quad down hurts a lot for your thighs. Provides good air though and you can mitigate it. Steel Vengeance flaw: May have possibly been last straw with RMC's relationship with Cedar Fair (hopefully rumors aren't true but we'll see over next five years)
Not having one at magic mountain atm is the biggest flaw of them all, but no fr lol six flags magic mountain is currently working on their new rmc raptor, set to open in 2022
I just got back from Cedar Point and the mid course slowed you down on Steel Vengeance all three days I was there. Don’t know if it’s a summer thing or what.
Steel Vengeance was a little rough for me in the turn after the stall, before the brake run. That pop of airtime and the lateral force from turning left real quick made me hit the side of the seat and bruise my ribs 😫🙃 I'm very tall and I might have been positioned a bit weird tho so 😅
Steel Vengeance's flaw is the snappy turn right before the mid-course brake run. It's always felt a little too sharp for a ride with such smooth elements
In general RMC's don't have great capacity for how popular they are. That would probably be the biggest flaw with Steel Vengeance, contributing to the terrible line. Another factor is the way operations are with the seatbelt and lap bar and having to check both separately. I operated Joker for about 4 weeks and those restraints were my least favorite to check out of all 11 rides I've operated.
For me the flaw with Steel Vengeance is the lack of a stand out element. The overbank was good but I really didn't feel like there was a single element on Steel Vengeance that was super unique. Iron Rattler has it's twisted drop with a headchopper and dive off the wall, Lightning Rod has the quad down...Steel Vengeance has Speed...and Height...and Length. Not that it's bad. Still a top 10 coaster for me but it didn't blow me away or live up to expectations.
@@jameslitwin5635 I disagree. The straight drop is boring and then it goes into a speed hill that doesn't provide any airtime. It has good moments but nothing unique. It feels like the generic version of an RMC coaster. They went after all of the records but they didn't add anything unique that you can't get on another RMC.
The only flaw I would give Steel Vengeance is the small bit of rough lateral throwing you into the person next to you as you pop into the mid course break run. Not because laterals aren’t fun in their own way, but because it seems to break character for RMC which normally has high quality banking. It’s so hard to even call that a flaw though.
SFoT is my home park and when Texas Giant was redone it was absolutely incredible. But now that I see all of the amazing RMC overlays they’ve done since, I really wish they would come back to Texas Giant and spruce it up. I’m super jealous of these newer RMC’s
For NTG being the only rmc I've ridden. Its the dispatches for me. On my last visit they were dispatching like every 4 min and stacking the second train
Great vid and maybe SF can increase the lift speed on Iron Rattler so it has some extra speed to start instead of slowing the lift down as the train crests.

Jersey Devil is getting reprogrammed to fix the Mid-Course Run stopping the train completing, and Jersey devil fixed them the shoulder straps have give to it
Steel Vengeance flaw: May have possibly been last straw with RMC's relationship with Cedar Fair (hopefully rumors aren't true but we'll see over next five years)
Not having one at magic mountain atm is the biggest flaw of them all, but no fr lol six flags magic mountain is currently working on their new rmc raptor, set to open in 2022
Omg your here as well
One Steel Vengeance flaw: The mid course actually slows down the train...
The flaw on steel vengeance is the ending. They could have done an extra barrel roll or something, but the just did bunny hills straight to th3 brakes
I definitely would have preferred one (or more) unique element over the last set of 🐰🐇🐰 hills!!!
@@jay-dubb.dubb.68 I think a wave turn like on twisted cyclone would be cool
@@thatcool-guyplays7831 YES! A cool extended hanging upside moment..?
I just got back from Cedar Point and the mid course slowed you down on Steel Vengeance all three days I was there. Don’t know if it’s a summer thing or what.
Steel Vengeance was a little rough for me in the turn after the stall, before the brake run. That pop of airtime and the lateral force from turning left real quick made me hit the side of the seat and bruise my ribs 😫🙃 I'm very tall and I might have been positioned a bit weird tho so 😅
I have the same problem.
Another complaint, the head choppers make it almost unenjoyable to me. Ik that I won't hit it but it's still odd to me.
My flaw with Steel Vengence is the ejector is a little too painful
Still a top 10 coaster for me but it didn't blow me away or live up to expectations.
it doesn't have a standout element because they're practically all standout elements lol
@@jameslitwin5635 AGREED 1000% LOL
@@jameslitwin5635 I disagree. The straight drop is boring and then it goes into a speed hill that doesn't provide any airtime. It has good moments but nothing unique. It feels like the generic version of an RMC coaster. They went after all of the records but they didn't add anything unique that you can't get on another RMC.
My issue with twisted timbers and storm chaser is that the twisted airtime just kind of jerks you around in a kind of uncomfortable way
The only flaw I would give Steel Vengeance is the small bit of rough lateral throwing you into the person next to you as you pop into the mid course break run. Not because laterals aren’t fun in their own way, but because it seems to break character for RMC which normally has high quality banking.
It’s so hard to even call that a flaw though.
3:47 Someone looses their hat!!!
Steel Vengeance’s midcourse does nothing because they don’t send two trains at once
With wicked cyclone the third lap I learned is always amazing in, or right after rain, the train flies right through then
if you ride in the front of goliath at sfgam you get great airtime on those turnarounds and a great pop of lateral ejector when you enter the breaks
With Storm chaser it’s only flaw is it sometimes acts like it won’t make it during the last part of it.
SFoT is my home park and when Texas Giant was redone it was absolutely incredible. But now that I see all of the amazing RMC overlays they’ve done since, I really wish they would come back to Texas Giant and spruce it up. I’m super jealous of these newer RMC’s
Zadra’s biggest flaw: It opened ahead of schedule even though it partially collapsed. 😂
Converisons in a nutshell.
haha
For NTG being the only rmc I've ridden. Its the dispatches for me. On my last visit they were dispatching like every 4 min and stacking the second train
Hurler:Twisted Timbers is my home RMC! So glad I have had the chance to ride both! :)
Great vid and maybe SF can increase the lift speed on Iron Rattler so it has some extra speed to start instead of slowing the lift down as the train crests.
I think it's a known fact that all coaster channels are hated, but the fact that this guy admits it and embraces it is hilarious
