Then Psy wanted to have Suga in the MV. Then Psy wanted him to dance. It’s so funny because even on the behinds, Suga was like - “I was only supposed to produce”. 🤣
There's s funny scene in the making of video where psy is surprised that suga picked up the choreo so quick, suga laughs and says "I am an idol", I call it his Matrix/Neo moment 🤣
Also how amazing that Psy could keep up during rehearsal too. No disrespect at all but he’s a lot older than Suga and he still has so much energy. Some of that dance looks very hard.

One of PSY's live outdoor concerts in Seoul had a surprise guest appearance by Suga on this song and the audience went ballistic -- so many ppl there uploaded their video they were recording at the time, and it was hilarious how EVERYONE'S phone images went all berserk the moment Suga appeared because they all stopped focusing on recording and were instead screaming and clapping and jumping in reaction to seeing Suga
JK loved the choreo from this video SO MUCH he taught himself it and he'd be constantly doing it on other shoots BTS were doing, or on his own Lives - to the point Suga thought JK was making fun of him instead of just showing love and fan-ing out about it -- and of course JK insisted on performing it when he guested on Suga's SUCHWITA show to promote GOLDEN

I don't think he will, unfortunately 🥲 his reactions are kind of impersonal, he brushes over many things. I mean, nothing wrong with it, but he is more of a casual listener/viewer. I really wished he made longer-ish videos where he investigated a little bit more about the songs 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️

5:40 I completely agree. I can count on 1 hand how many rap songs I actually like - until Suga. I can listen to him rap (and sing now that he also does that live, and play the piano and guitar), for hours. There is just something about the musicality of his style that is so captivating.

I am not Koren have zero connection to Korea but even I know Psy is extremely popular in Korea. Selling out shows, his own company...a legend in his own right . Very much relevant, and I even like a few of his other songs.

That high part is Psy singing 😅 Suga offered this song to Psy (he produced it too and won prizes for it). Initially was just that, but Psy got Suga to participate on the MV and even to dance!
There is a video at a concert when Suga made a surprise appearance. It's awesome! The energy from the crowd (it was one of the first concerts after the pandemics) is simply fantastic!

Psy is still very much a thing in Korea. His last concert called "Summer Swag" in July 2022 had about 35K attendees (Suga made a surprise performance singing That That). Psy originally asked Suga to produce the song....then somehow he convinced him to not only rap in the video, but also learn the choreography. Psy is an evil genius lol., Yes it was definitely Psy singing (even the singing part that Yoongi jokingly lip synced) when he had Psy in his arms.

PSY literally owns his own lable you know so ofcourse he's still around... it's crazy how many people don't realise that.
Its actually not crazy at all that people don't realize that. K-pop is niche and folks need to remember that. Also, Nathan is just starting his journey into BTS alone, let alone K-pop so its a little absurd to expect that anyone would know that. Like majority of army didn't even know Psy was still a thing until this song came out. Unless you're literally into K-music or happened to read a random-ass article or wiki page about Psy idk how anyone would come across that info. Be realistic.
@MrsParkArmanto I'm really not into kpop but I knew ...I also knew he'd been in the industry (as in music not just kpop) a long time. Also he's been doing these reactions for month (well over 6 months) now he isn't new too it at all anymore.
Psy is a proper singer/entertainer in korea for yeeeeeeears before gangnam style and will be for many more years to come. He's not fussed about the market outside of korea. His global hit was a surprise probably most to him cause a lot of his songs are like gangnam style (ie funny music videos and dance moves)
So that was actually PSY singing on the track. But, Suga can sing high notes. Check out his version of Life Goes On (there's also a BTS version) to hear him belt. Who knew he could do that?! ;)

You should check That That live performance!!! It's so cool when Yoongi comes on stage by surprise!!! And Yes! Psy can sing. Actually,,,, I am personally surprised that if he has stability in his vocal, it makes sense that he is well known as an artist both in Korea and in the world for Gangnam style

This is such a fun song and is loved by BTS especially Jungkook who sings it at the drop of a hat. The first song SUGA offered to PSY he didn’t thing suited him but when SUGA offered him this one he jumped on it. SUGA was just going to produce but PSY dragged him into rapping on it then dancing in the mv. There are behind the scenes videos from both their points of view which are fun to watch. They had such a lot of fun together. PSY is an unusual character so it’s worth looking up his life story. After all, ‘PSY’, is short for, ‘Psycho’. He now owns his own agency called P Nation. There’s a lot more to him than, ‘ Gangnam Style’.
Psy's concerts in Korea are legendary. Saw him in Seoul, he was on stage singing and dancing for 3 hours. Hes incredible to watch
Love Agust-D. Thank you for your reaction. I'm 56 and I discovered BTS about 2 years ago, I actually took my autistic daughter to Las Vegas to 2 concerts and we love it. Last year, I'm lucky to live in the Chicago suburbs and I was able to go to one of Suga's concerts D-Day. It was such an experience and I was able to see the quality of artist that he is. The concert was full of energy and emotion. If you can check out some of his live concerts that had been posted by fans, songs like Haegeum, Daechwita & his last song "The Last". You should also react to "The Last" and google the story behind that song, Suga expresses his mental issues (OCD) in this song almost to his suicidal thoughts. The word suicide is not in the song is blocked by a sound.
Suga wrote this song and then thought it would fit Psy so sent it to him and then Suga helped produce it as well and was featured in it. There is behind the scenes footage of the making of the MV and Suga learning the dance and his surprise appearance at Psy's concert to perform it. Suga can sing pretty well now he has been taking lessons and can sing pretty high so yet that is him singing.
I should also say that Suga as a producer has a very good sense of what is commercially attractive for the public listener and he use it 100% when he's writing music for smb else but BTS and himself
There's a making of/behind the scenes video where they show the part with the birds flying over - totally serendipitous. They just happened to capture it! I don't think Suga sings on this, but he does have a lovely singing voice, which he worked on a lot more in recent years. Psy is just a really fun guy, can definitely sing, is a natural performer, and the members of BTS all admire and revere him. He helped put Korea on the map for music with that one super viral video & song for Gangnam Style.
Oh, an Psy has helped a number of up & coming artists make there way with producing and promoting.

This is one of my favorite songs with SUGA in it. I think he is a genuinely funny person and this just shows off that side of him. I am one of those that loved Psy the first time around. Some of the kids are even still playing his song at school dances here where I live. This is such a fun song.

Psy is singing all the parts. Suga "singing" was just for the mv. And those birds really did fly over. In the making of the mv, they commented on how the birds flew over at the perfect time! lol.
I really like Suga's rap too. I think the way it can sound aggressive, how his voice almost screams at some points (i dont know how else to say it) and how versatile he can sound. I love it. I love all the rappers in BTS as they all have unique styles. Thanks!

Psy never left! He's HUGE over in Korea! Go look up videos of Jungkook doing the that that dance for some laughs. When this song came out JK would do the dance ALL the time to make fun of Yoongi. Also Psy is a wonderful singer! If you want some enjoyable watching look up the episode of Suchwita where Jungkook comes on and youll have a lot of good laughs.

If you want to satisfy your craving for Suga rap you should definitely check out "Outro- Tear live at Wembley stadium." It's J-Hope, RM and Suga. Do a little research on it beforehand. It will make it so much better if you have a little background before watching it.

Suga is a man of many talents. He says his music is evolving and I am amazed at the diverse songs he has created. A beautiful song he features in and produced is "Eight" by the Korean female singer IU. This song's MV is beautifully shot and even includes animation. It's an homage to her friends/fellow idols lost to suicide (there are explanation videos) but it's not a dirge at all, feels very upbeat. IU also worked with V, in a STUNNING MV "Love Wins All" (V co-stars but does not sing), which I would put on top of your list to listen to.
Actually those birds are real. They were shooting that car scene when the birds flew over and the shot got it on film. You should watch the making and behind the scene of this music video. And also watch the live version during psy concert. Suga made a surprise appearance.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Nathan I'm so glad you like this song, too! I've never been a big fan of Psy either (although BTS says that he paved the way for them to come to America, and they respect him a lot). But, this song is so catchy and the music video is so funny, that it became one of my favorites. My little son and I listen to it at home almost every day, and he loves singing and dancing along.
SUGA does sing now--more than he used to. When he was preparing his D-Day album and tour, he said that his concert might seem boring if all he did was rap, so he learned to sing, play piano and play guitar to be able to perform a variety of song styles during his solo concert. All the BTS members keep learning new skills and growing as artists. They work so hard and are truly inspirational.
And if you're curious to learn more about SUGA, I recommend the documentary about how he made his D-Day album. It's on Disney Plus, and it's called "SUGA: Road to D-Day."
Suga has been playing the piano since he was a little kid, and been playing the guitar since being a trainee. So he already knew how to play those instruments! He didn’t just learn them!

I think SUGA said he brought in a little of that Agust D style. Love it!!! If you watch the behind the scenes videos from PSY’, and SUGA, you will see that the birds were real. It really was perfect timing. And PSY is singing throughout. Yoongi lipsynced his part on the car.
If you want to hear Suga singing, you can check out Life Goes On (the song is originally a BTS one that he took again and just made it into a solo for his latest album, he rewrite the lyrics but keeps the melodic lines), he plays it on the piano and it's on the more vulnerable side of him, part of it being that he sings which is not something he's comfortable with, and that only makes it more intimate (ua-cam.com/video/1ceQdmwnkaE/v-deo.html)

There are a couple of different behind / making of videos for this that make it very clear that Yoongi pitched the song to Psy, and then Psy just asked him to do a little bit more and a little bit more until it was pretty much a 50/50 collaboration. Psy is very pleased with himself about it and it's incredibly wholesome. He's an astoundingly good performer - a legend - and Yoongi looks up to him. He doesn't take himself too seriously, but he's not just a comedian.
And yes, he can sing. Yoongi probably couldn't comfortably sing those notes 😂
Psy cracked open the West with Gangnam Style, which pretty nearly no one over here understood at all (it's a very specific satire) but it was catchy AF. But he didn't quite top the charts with it, and when BTS did, he was very happy to congratulate them. He's got his own label and a reputation for nurturing younger artists. The clips we have of him working with Yoongi are really great - they had FUN making this. Which is the point of this song: to have fun.
Now I need you to watch clips of Jungkook, who promptly started doing this choreo constantly and singing this song AT Yoongi to annoy him... culminating on his appearance on Suchwita, where he did a karaoke version.
Actually, I'd love to watch that episode with you - JK is hilarious - and the extra 15 minutes of footage of him doing karaoke after Yoongi left the set while we're at it. Not that you doubt if Jungkook can actually sing at this point, obviously, but on that show we got to see him singing with a mouthful of steak he was actively eating 🤣

Totally agree that you should watch the making of this, it's really fun! I also agree about Suga rapping, he just hits different. I'm not sure what it is about him! Def his passion, but its like his rap has an almost melodic, hypnotic quality to it - his flow is fierce yet unique

PSY owns his own label, he is such a lovely guy. Media in Korea can either make you or it can bring you down before evidence proves you innocent, PSY takes on the artists that has been casted out for being different and they all seem to succeed with PSY’s help.

SUGA and El Capitxn wrote this for PSI. Suga did not intend to be so involved when first he signed on to write a comeback song for PSI who had been spending time at home with his twin daughters. Suga can sing. BTS never rests on its laurels they all continue to train. Suga said hes been taking regular vocal and dancing lessons before his enlistment.
So happy you reacted to this song!!!! Absolutely love. My daughter showed this to me because of Psy, this mv is what got me into BTS. From what I understand of having allegiance to a single kpop group (my daughters with BigBang) it was a big deal to perform together. In years past you stayed loyal to only one group. So when you see members from one group feat with another that is a big deal. Not so much now though. At least to my understanding.

Psy showed up and performed That That at Suga's/August D final concert in Aug 2023. They only did a little bit of the choreo.
Now that you've seen this you may notice in videos Jk and J Hope will do the dance. On one of the episodes of Suchwita with Jk, I think the first one Jk got up at the end and did the whole song and some of the choreo. Suga even changed when he mentioned his name, Min Yoogni with( Psy), Park Jaesang, to Min Yoogni and Jeon Jungkook.
