Yesterday in Pakistan a person died due to neck cut because of plastic thread used for kites 🥺 People didn't know this trick otherwise they might could save him.
You should tell the person to do it themselves if you don't have gloves to not spread any diseases. And afterwards you should do this bandage that is shown in the video. But if he's not able to do it I guess you could just put fingers in there but it's better with gloves either way
@@r6_cav221 You should definitely wear gloves if you have them and have time. But I really can't imagine someone with a arterial blood spurting from a neck wound is going to be able to pinch and hold their artery... Blood isn't that scary. Unless you have open cuts or on your hands you aren't in much danger of getting a disease but even if you do, there is PEP - post exposure prophylaxis, it's over 80% effective in preventing HIV. Needle stick injuries have only a 0.3 percent chance of spreading HIV and with PEP there are very little odds
See I was wondering if the carotid artery is severed, would packing and wrapping compromised airway from the pressure on the trachea. Is that why you don’t pack or can you pack the wound with gauze?
Never seen it taught like this, brilliant content
Thanks! Our goal is to teach new skills so we like hearing when that goal it met!
I understand how to apply pressure dressing but May I ask if it is ok to use occlusive dressing on neck open injury?
Very informative and life saving, great gift to a humanity, I salute to you sir

When I did my initial training as an EMT, we were taught to wrap the gauze in a figure 8 pattern. Everything else is the same.
Good technique but probably would need to be tighter if on the jug or subclavian vein/artery.
Could this be wrong but if you don’t have enough time can you not use your fingers and finch the artery the save the persons life ?

I wanna be proficient with medical but everything with heart and pumping blood makes me very anxious and stressed
Well if someone is bleeding from an artery and you aren't panicking you would be a psychopath
if you have wind pipe damage, do you just use chest seal on that area? I'm assuming you don't pack that area

If such a big artery is cut you need to pin point pressure on it or clamp it
Never wound pack the neck bc it can cause an embolism.
thanks!
Sure thing!
Would this have saved NHL dude
Yes, either this or direct pressure.
