I think ther might be some mistranslations, no big issues. Sometimes there is a "we" where I think it should be an "I" (is your bike your partner ob the trip?). And your improvised cold box did keep your drinks warm not cold? 😉
Here in Germany the temperature is already down to around 15 / 5 (at night) degrees Celsius. I wanted to go camping with the boys but didn't want to risk they are catching a cold.

All bikers have hatchets on their belts. Very handy. Lot better tool than a knife. wich i have too. My hatchet is from Russian imperial army pioneers, made in 1840 and the knife is done around 1900 :)
