My wife is from Chengdu Sichuan, when i went there or 2 weeks i ate Mala for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In Chengdu most of their dishes are mala dishes (super spicy and numbing) and usually i like it extremely spicy. This challenge would be ok for me i think.

The great thing about living near the headquarters of TSL is that I’ve tried the first mala place so many times cuz it’s so near my house LOL I SAW JULIAN THERE ONCE WOOO

I learnt from my favourite szhechuan mala steamboat restaurant's lady boss ( who is from china) that apparently, when you eat mala and drink cold drinks, you'll get a stomach ache. According to her, the locals over there don't drink cold drinks with their mala for that reason. I couldn't understand the part she said about what they drank instead hehe. Idk if it applies to this style of mala, but i've also never tried eating mala steamboat without cold drinks cos the sensation of cold drinks + spice feels shiok to me XD
I usually don't drink anything while I eat mala because it makes my stomach feel uncomfortable and bloated, maybe that's why.

Ding Ding Hong 鼎鼎红 Mala at Maxwell is my fav so far, would recommend to anyone who like a more authentic version of the dish
you guys should have set the parameters of the challenge to make it easier to determine the loser - e.g. no dairy, must finish each mala meal etc. maybe round 2?

This is a fun challenge, three days eating only spicy food. Im not a fan of spicy food so im not up fo this challenge. But they are fun too watch. And its nice that on the last part they have said they're reactions on eating mala.
