The Complete History Of OSFirstTimer

- The OSFirstTimer UA-cam Channel was created on November 3rd 2012 and just 6 months later it already had almost 8,000 subscribers and 800,000 total video views. How did OSFirstTimer start, where did the inspiration come from and how did I become so interested in operating systems.
This video takes you back to 2001 when I first started using computers then to 2007 when I first started making youtube channels and to 2012 when I created OSFirstTimer and all the way to now. Almost everything you could possibly know about the history of OSFirstTimer is in this video so get some popcorn (or whatever you like to eat), sit back and enjoy the next hour and 20 minutes of watching this video.
I remember watching this video back around 2013/2014, now it's 2023 (which is a little scary) and I still love this channel!

The first operating system I used I can vaguely remember I think it was windows vista,then 7, then windows 8 came out and I was like “nope, Microsoft you have done it again”

This has to be the third time I’ve watched this. It’s so well produced and provides so much background about you and the channel, and it’s crazy you took so much time to make this when the channel was so small.
The channel was growing at a much faster rate back then (based on growth percentage) so it felt like the time was right.

I avoided it for years. But came back forgetting about it a little too much. Now I'm scared
@@90sNath a lot has happened since this video came out, I'm a mechanic now and think about rsi frequently. I can feel a slight pain in my wrists which I associate in my head with cranking on wrenches. I used to work with a woman who's father had numbness in the tips of his fingers, he thinks from twisting bolts.
I always see myself coming back to this video. It is a great way to pass the time, as it is very long, and is very entertaining.

Very interesting section on "the phase" and RSI/TMS, glad to know you found things that work for you and got better. Big fan of your videos!
It was deleted... It was pretty awesome though. 5 hours compressed into 5 minutes and being able to see the charactor zoom by from place to place doing stuff was really cool

Sadly I don't think he will return. At the end of the latest video, Phillip announces that he has moved out of his parents house to his own house where he fosters children, So he probably won't have the time to go over to his parents house to film a video, Especially since he would need to bring his entire computer.

damn, this guys youtube journey is so cool, i always used to watch his mum tries out a lot of different os' until he started a new series in 2020 where his mum plays a lot of really old games and i don't know why this feels so nostalgic to me but i just really miss his old content

My first computer was also XP and it is still running! I learned by myself how to use a restore CD and have always been able to repair and XP since.That was probably the start of my computer interest and i am now studying Computers at college since kindergarten in school we had an hour a week with a windows 2000 computer which I was also amazed by(although i had a hard time with ctrl + alt + del).

For me it's not about switching... It's about variety. Ubuntu is awesome with windows, with mac, with solaris, with BSD... Get the best of everything by using everything. Every OS you use expands your adventure while every OS you don't use is something you are missing out on. Why settle for one OS when you can use them all? Personally I have a multiboot setup currently on my computer and I explore both windows and Linux daily because both are awesome in their own ways and both deserve to be used
