Abu García pro max is a menace of a bait-caster. Very good quality reel and it’s one of the best reels. It has the best value at its price point. And 90% of fishermen will agree with me. Very solid reel.
are you saying if you suck you sick a more expensive reel isn't going to teach technique. i studied the bait casting reels 35 years ago. looking at the 1 i just bought, they haven't changed much. To start tighten the brake until you get the hang of controlling the spool. The better you get the looser . if you throw enough you might keep it at zero.
I use them all the time. Learn how to first set up the reel for each bait. Then after you cast practice using your thumb to stop the cast right where you want it. I precision cast every time so I always stop it where I want it to land before it hits the water. I like parking it right in front of trees in the water. But using the thumb right before it hits the water will keep you from making all the birds in the area jealous.
I started fishing a baitcaster reel when I was a young teenager. My first reel was an ambassador 5000. Early 70s model. Then in the 80s I jumped into an Ambassador 4500. Fished those all through till finally in 2012 I tried the max pro. Beautiful reel. Love mine in fresh and saltwater.
It looks like you might have let go a little late given the trajectory. I would say, add a little weight, and maybe try aside, cast versus an overhead.
Dude, I run $1000+ Daiwa setups and I still have an Abu BlackMax 3 and a ProMax baitcaster with me at all times. They hold up to any of my Daiwa Steez and Saltiga reels for cast ability and quality. Not as smooth, but the quality and function is there. I was to, a Daiwa snob at one point until I actually used any of the cheaper abu's.

“one handed over head cast”
That sentence alone just sounds like a backlash
How ? Its not that hard to do that 😂
its not hard to do a one handed overhead bro
Its not that hard, just turn down the brakes some more
It’s hard for some people dude, be humble.
When you say turn down that means less? Correct?
@@bigdank7789yes, meaning you can throw it further with less power
@@YaronZ. ahhh, thank you
@@alreadydead000 dawg he wasn't even rude he just said it's not hard of you turn the brakes down
Got $200 reels, and some close to $300, and I always have a Pro Max on deck! Not the reel, it’s the settings and the guy holdin the rod. Jus sayin

It's also the rod and lure pairing
@@5wisher5weet100% , i see so many people have a 30+ gram rod and try cast a 5g spoon, and fail, then go on to blame the reel. 😂

I bought the Blackhawk pro Max 3 years ago and it took me 3 days to learn how to throw with no thumb and no backlash😂😂😅
Light bait maybe, and needs some adjustments? Even a cheap reel should cast further than that.
I forwarded motion stops before the spool stops
It’s not the rod it’s the fisherman
Man forgot about spool tension
Try to Adjust the Tension of the brake
I love mine I have 5 of them
Tighten your tension spool. If it backlashes at the beginning of the cast your tensions is to loose
No…ur breaks r tight…loosen en up n you’ll be golden 🎉
Maybe use braid line instead of that stupid nylon cord that can stretch under pressure
Я понимаю что катушка шлаковая, но и заброс был ее стоящий
It takes practixw but very rewarding

Bro wtf craziest cast ever 😂
I would say that's because you are not loading the blank with that particular lure
Im finding out i need to upgrade…the abu garcia just ain’t cutting it. My buddy has a shimano dc and its apples to oranges and im jealous a lil bit …
I mean DC breaks and standard breaks ARE apples to oranges.
Huh you casted that straight down...
Prime example of someone not knowing what they are doing and complaining about everything but their own skill and techniques! "Or lack there of" 😂😂😂😂
Trash that 20 n move up to 50lb. Thin braid on baitcaster don't do so well unless BFS
Or like an MGL spool or something.
🔥lol
I have a ugly rod abu Garcia with a black max baitcaster
I’ll take that challenge
Never cast overhead one handed
The line your using or maybe your not casting hard enough idk im sorry your rig is being that way
Who casts like that?!
I think the reel preforms well one handed. You’re just inexperienced
Bukan hard. Dh memang tak reti. Ckap jela xreti
bait is too light
Walmart setups are a waste of time
Here we go.....the one-man, human centipede at it again.
hahahaha its the hand not the reel
Are you serious? Or this video is just for fun? 🤣
I do not like abu garcia reels period. They are made well but compared to shimano or lews or diawa they aren't there
hahahahhahahahahahah
😂 dude that was a bad cast
Тормоза отпустить не пробовал, чудовище😅😅😅😅
Turn down the mags
Maybe don’t throw a sanko on it
Go back to spin cast
If you have same problem as the guy in this video than fishing is not for you. Go and make french fries instead
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dump it and get a Daiwa...you can thank me later

You don’t know how to fish son just say that
My pro max is white with different grips are you sure it’s a pro max😭
It definitely is. I have the same one and love it. The white ones are the newer model.
Плавный забрасывать не рынком!
Lolol you need to learn how to cast before you make a extremely short review. I cast a mile with mine , look mah, one hand
Loosen the brakes
Maybe use braid line instead of that stupid nylon cord that can stretch under pressure
