Hellooo, I'm here to offer some interpretations hehe.
So the album name is Redd, according to wheein means to clean up or to get rid of false tastes and paint with honest colors. Because of this, wheein incorporated various music styles and concepts to the album in hopes to show her own diverse colors. So for watercolor, she said that she paints "me" as it is, as transparent as watercolor. the lyrics of the song actually is like a metaphor for life. the highlight point of the song is where she says "i look good in everything". It's also a point in the music video that she's wearing blue colored outfits then has a white outfit with purple gloves. Since red and blue mixed together create purple, there's a theory that in that scene, the white outfit represents the canvas and the gloves represent the mixture of the two colors to create purple. gloves are worn on the hand so is it conveying that we can all paint/create our own colours with our own hands.
The peacock is also a symbolism of sorts wherein we know that Peacock is a bird that is in a sense unique/individual of a kind colorful with a sense pride as it tends to spread its feathers to attract peoples' eyes so in a way we can understand Wheein in the animation is as if saying dive into the ocean of your "self" where your "peacock" lives & embrace that individuality beauty you have with pride..those colors are your charm because you are a peacock (blue dress mirrors the blue peacock) "Every color suits you". Peacock also mean showing and embracing who you truly is and how you are gonna ‘celebrate’ herself since it symbolizes ‘self-confidence, self-esteem, dignity, refinement, knowledge, sexuality, pride, and beauty’.
The album is also such a bop and the bsides wheein said to check out are ohoo and spring time which she wrote. OHOO in the perspective of her cat, ggomo, and Spring time as a fan song for moomoos. You should check it out!

But knowing her style, I think this is already rather on the flashy side for her. Her stuff isn't really about the"bangs!!" or the "boom!!" in the face but in Water Color I think she's more relaxed, herself, and the vocal is also going further in a few aspects (imho).
@@kKizz Right? She’s got the vocal talent for sure but fans know that she isn’t a power belter type of singer and it’s completely not her style. Water Color is a song that’s very wheein and I’m just here to appreciate her artistry and vision. Only gripe is that I would’ve wanted the dance to have popped off a bit more, so that we could’ve seen her showcase her dance skills.
@@MultiSmiley007 I was slightly surprised the first time I heard this but when you think about it Easy also had this same kind of style or energy to it. I can also see how much this song suits her the more that I listen to it.
I think the reason why it felt underwhelming for some was that it was not a genre that they like and it does not have that trendy bang of a chorus that most mainstream songs have not to mention in the course she was belting but not belting in the way like showing off her range. Personally, I think it was refreshing because not all the time does a singer have to show off their full range for a single. Wheein has already showcased it in her ballads, her covers, immortal song, and some of Mamamoo's b-sides. To be honest, this track gives me twit vibes in the sense that it pulls people in to wanting to hear more of her music even tho the vocals were not as flashy. Most likely she'll pull out a Maria/LMM and showcase her range in her next album or single.

It’s also ironic that her song is about living for herself and showcasing the truer aspects of her style and personality but I’ve seen people commenting that she doesn’t fit this genre and she should go back to doing ballads to showcase her vocals. That’s the opposite of what she’s trying to convey as an artist I feel. I hope she doesn’t feel boxed in to continue doing power ballads and cafe song tracks if this release doesn’t do well :/

As my ult female bias, one of the biggest reasons I have such a soft spot for her is because of her courage and strength to follow her passions despite not really wanting to be in the spotlight. Wheein unnie is one of my ultimate bias. I don't normally enjoy ballads. I don't normally enjoy dance music. I find it quite abnormal to enjoy all of her music, which consists mostly of ballads and dance music. I've been listening to Redd multiple times now and I love all the tracks in it. I hope this mini album can give Wheein unnie the recognition she deserve as one of the most powerful and versatile artist.
My favorite performance video of watercolor is the one from Dingo. Wheein wearing a blacksuit with the fedora hat on and those shots in the dark room is lit♥️
