What separates the Philippine Madrigal Singers from other choirs in the world is that, they are the only choir who can sing ANY,as in ANY language as if it’s their native language. No other choirs in the world can do that only them.
Guys, I think it would be interesting to feature Ms. Jacqui on Feature Friday Plus. It will give us an insight into what it is to be part of one of the most prestigious and accomplished singing group in the world. More power to you Ms. Jacqui and to you both!
If you notice that The Philippine Madrigal Singers is only one of the few choral groups that don't carry songbooks! They memorize all the lyrics regardless of what language the song is written in.
The University of the Philippines Madrigal Singers, aka The Philippine Madrigal Singers, aka The Madz have this special way of performing. They often are positioned in a semi-circle and while seated, sing without a conductor. They were formed in 1963 and have won so many awards and accolades over the decades, all over the world. Truly, one of the most successful choirs the country has ever produced.
Yes, they don't have a conductor and don't use song books. Amazingly, they just memorize all the lyrics whatever language is written in the songs. Hitting the high notes while seated is incredible.
Actually The Philippine Madrigal Singers conductor is "always" seated on the left edge chair of the semi-circle (facing the choir), which is the choirmaster, Mark Anthony Carpio, who uses body language to conduct. 😊
I have been blessed with the opportunity to go to workshops of former Madz members and literally what I realized is they're all like monstrously great musicians. They say they study about 8 pieces/songs (arrangements) in just one sitting. And when you audition, and somehow you pass, you still have to undergo training before you become an actual member of the string that performs regularly.
DI lang basta training mam.. kundi "monstrous" training ang kailangan mo pagdaanan .. ksama na dun ang di mabilang na quartet exams before you actually claim the stub to perform esp in an international performance.
Madz! My favorite choir group and luckily i was able to sing with them and be friends with some of their members. They're really good and super down to earth. 😍😍😍
Attending the madrigal choral workshops is one hell of an experienced...which I've experienced once held at the Philippines cultural center for 1 whole week...one thing about them they're so down to earth persons considering their status in the music industry...i admire them so much...
When you hear them singing live, It's like listening to a studio recording but more resonance and grandioso. Also, Do you know while everyone is on their on league, the members who are assigned and seated in the center are considered the best in their voice group.
The Madz sang mass for our 25th wedding anniversary. They started with the Prayer of St Francis...hope you get to review that!! Sadly my bride is gone now.
Madz is our national treasure that we don't want to share to the world at first. hahahaha but since you've discovered them, you'll never ever find another group of unique talented individuals that nourishes the soul and make the heart weep for joy and be thankful that you existed just to listen to a glimpse of heaven. literally makes the angels jump for joy!
I love the" frozen" moment when there was no movement from both of you, yet the emotions emitted were overflowing. Thank you guys for su ch a truly sincere reaction to a deserving world class talent, The Philippine Madrigal Singers. For this, please accept my subscription to you channel.
Andrea Veneracion is the Philippines' greatest choir master. She was the founder of the Philippine Madrigal Singers and the first conductor before Mark, after she passed away. Please watch her interview.
To be part of this group is my dream. Although I'm not good and I know that my chance is very low, still I dream about it. I've met and seen them perform several times live and just got goosebumps every time. Every Chorale group in the Philippines choose them as their role model for their amazing talent and discipline when it comes to singing💗
Oh my goodness. Goosebumps all over my body. I agree with your brother ,while hearing them sings,i feel like i was cleansed too, overwhelming f emotions. I am a filipino too and ive heard of them long way back but this is my first time after for a long time. Proud to be pinoy. Fighting Philippine Madrigal Singers❤️❤️❤️
Yes,I very much relate to both y of your reactions...the first time I heard Phil.Madrigal sang,I felt like the Heavens above just opened a bit and suddenly Angels were singing...I also felt what Efra felt...i felt so calm,so peaceful that my soul is so ready to go...hahaha! I also felt undescribable emotions that there was so much tears in my eyes...very much like being cleanse. God bless you both and more power! 😇😍💕
I wonder how you two will feel when you hear them live. You guys are so fun to watch! I feel blessed to hear them perform live. It was in a small church in our university. I almost felt at some point that the roof will fly!
I hope you can react to their performance of “Pater Noster” and “We beheld once again the stars” at the 2007 European Grand Prix in Arezzo, Italy when they became the first choir to win the EGP twice.
Waleska's reaction looks like she's at some other dimension or universe while looking up and somewhere else. Madrigal singers are trained and professionals compared to some of the singers you have given your reactions. Thank you for believing in Filipino singers! You both are always in awe just watching these singers doing it naturally. You really know what you're talking about and it's not just about giving reaction but musicality wise. Keep it up!
Finally!!! Been requesting this for so long! This is what heaven sounds like. I wish you watched the "Circle of Life" too as it is better than the one you reacted to before. A masterpiece.
I got a chance to watch them live wayback 3 yrs ago, they have so amazing voice I thought I at first I will be bored during their performce cause some of their song doesn't ring a bell but I was wrong, I was so entertain we even appeal to play more song hehehe got a chance to take a photo of some of them.
Hermano/hermana, their attires are our national costumes, terno or sometimes Maria Clara (for the ladies) and barong tagalog (for the men). Muchas gracias for your wonderful reaction.
Hearing them sings you cant help but straighten up,like me ,i was lying down watching but when they start singing and got goosebumps all over my body,i immediately got up and sit straight😁🤣❤️
Hello guys I always watching your react for the Filipino Singers. I like the you react and i love you Guys.singing for Filipino its just for fun especially karaoke challenges 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤪🤪🤪I'm just here watching you all the time.🥰🥰🥰
Check out also the UP Concert Chorus. The Madrigals and the UP Concert are both from the university that I attended- University of the Philippines and we are so proud of them.
You should also check out Loboc Children's Choir. They are taught by a volunteer teacher. If Efra's soul was cleansed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers, these kids will make you cry and think of angels while listening to them.
You should see them do their rendition of Paraiso- a song composed by national artist Ryan Cayabyab. By the way did you know that the Madrigals sang as our church choir at my wedding? Just wanna let you know. 😊
A hall of famer in world class choir competitions and these people are not music majors but some are not what you call into artistic courses. They also belong to the top university in the Philippines. There's another group from the same university... The UP choral ensemble
"Doxologia" the first song they performed was actually written by one of the singers Ily Maniano. The rightmost guy in your thumbnail. I think he takes first chair if the choir master is not available.
Finally! Thank you for this RV. Please react more to groups who are known for harmonization and vocal technique. I hope you can react again to The CompanY. They dropped a new album. I recommend "Sumakabilang Puso", "Gitna", or "Ambon".
You’ll be surprise to know that they sound exactly the same from day one after decades of changing guard and singers year after year. You’ll be even amazed that they are all students in a very prestigious university that getting in is very challenging as well. All of them are trained to be soloists as well because they have to switch soloists every now and then as needed in case of infirmity or just to give everybody a chance to be in the spotlight.
The guy, Ily Matthew Maniano, who sang Claire de Lune, composed that song. He has an album called Euphonos which I think you'd really love. My personal favorites are this, Ama Niamo (check their 2016 Arezzo competition performance for that! They won and claimed a European Grand Prix spot for that!), Non Nobis Domine, and Lux Aeterna. Also check Ily's live performance of Comme d Habitude and their Let my Love Be Heard.
I hope you also react on one of the masterpiece that they've sang. Song name called WE BEHELD ONCE AGAIN THE STARS which they sang in European Grand Pix🤍

Waaaaah thanks so much for this! I was still here with this batch when we sang in Busan! Fun fun times with the Madz! ❤

So tough
Madz! My favorite choir group and luckily i was able to sing with them and be friends with some of their members. They're really good and super down to earth. 😍😍😍
My aunt is a soprano and a member of the Madz and I can confirm that sitting beside her during the hymns is pretty scary lol

At some point, Efra was so into Madz’ heavenly performance, I was already expecting him to levitate! hahaha
I love Efra's reaction like he gets lifted by the choir... He is like sitting in the clouds...
Every time they sing, they're almost not human anymore. it's like their voice is descended from heaven. 🥺
When you hear them singing live, It's like listening to a studio recording but more resonance and grandioso. Also, Do you know while everyone is on their on league, the members who are assigned and seated in the center are considered the best in their voice group.
Goosebumps Mabuhay Pilipinas 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩🇯🇵🇵🇭
When the basses entered i just got literally moved .. chilled down to my toes. superb performance as always.

I still consider Riveder Le Stelle as their best performance ever in 2007 European Grand Prix. No doubt why they won.
You should see them do their rendition of Paraiso- a song composed by national artist Ryan Cayabyab. By the way did you know that the Madrigals sang as our church choir at my wedding? Just wanna let you know. 😊

I love efra in this reaction, i didn't expect chorale singing to have this effect on him 😂
In fairness, I also got teary where Waleska also teared up. I don’t know why either. I couldn’t even understand what they were singing.
Ah yes! THE Madrigal Singers! They only perform for Royalties and sometimes on very special occasions. 😌
"Doxologia" the first song they performed was actually written by one of the singers Ily Maniano. The rightmost guy in your thumbnail. I think he takes first chair if the choir master is not available.

Looking at Efra's reaction, I realized I was like him too 🤣🤣🤣
Please review their new paraiso recording. Theyve out did their previous paraiso performances.

Responses in the chruches from the Philippines are sometimes sung depending on the choir and/or the priest officiating the mass
It's like they are singing in clouds with wings.
It would be interesting also if you come and visit the Phils and explore our beaches like Siargao, Bohol, Boracay and Palawan.
Naughty, naughty! Haha I guess I'm good cuz I feel cleansed, too, Efra
why am i crying!!
i want to hear them sing Christmas carols.
Try to listen also to the USTSingers. The choir won many international choral competitions. It is called The Choir of the World.
I highly recommend you choose songs from Philippine Madrigal Singers or MADZ, coz the are really world renowned choir.
