Great review, thanks for the helpful info from one gamer to another
Great video! You really gave the whole breakdown of it. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to future controllers on the horizon.
Appreciate the positive words and support! 🙏🏾
Of course, my dude dude! I'm in media production, and people don't realize how time-consuming it takes to push out vids, especially at a day to day rate. You have a good voice and very nice editing skills.
@matrixhasyou13 YES! Great hearing this from a professional like yourself. Takes lots of time and work. So satisfying at completion and to get comments like this. You are very much appreciated!
Excellent review. MS recently announced that they're completely changing how their Xbox peripheral licensing works, and while this will possibly affect many current unlicensed 3rd-party controllers, there *is* an upside: they said that from now on they are going to allow wireless connectivity on 3rd-party controllers which meet the licensing requirements.
Currently only 3rd-party headsets are allowed to include the propietary Xbox security chip and radio frequency that MS mandates, while other 3rd-party peripherals are left in the cold (for reasons that only MS knows). However, the change has already started. The new PowerA MOGA XP controller is the first officially-licensed Xbox controller with actual wireless capability on both PC and console.
Hopefully this means future Xbox controllers are truly wireless, as this would create a huge change-up in the current 3rd-party controller space.
Thanks! Yep I heard about this. Thanks for sharing the additional details. I think the names of Scuf, Battle Beaver, etc. will continue to be fine if they continue using standard Xbox controllers at the heart of their controllers. But if they were looking to truly innovate, they might be halted on the Xbox front. We will see what MS does 🤞🏾
Great review
Much appreciated! 🙏🏾
You can change the settings on the ‘front buttons’ in settings right? In controller settings? The back buttons are the only ones u cant do on ur xbox but the front ones u can right?
Controller settings in the Armoury Crate app? Nope. Only the back buttons can be remapped. Maybe they update the app in the future to allow this though.
I’m thinking about getting this or a scuf envision or a dualsense edge. Might be the dualsense edge for the input lag latency being under 1ms. What about this controller, any idea?
Great question! Didn’t test this myself but have seen it tested at ~4ms wired and ~8ms w the dongle. Not sure on the envision (need to test myself). I love the edge, which I’ll review soon. But it only has 2 back paddles if that is an issue for you
How do I update this with AQrmory Crate? Says put it in wired/off mode and have the dongle plugged in....
Yea it’s strange but you have to do both at the same time
How do I do that though? When I plug it in, it automatically turns on...@@lbs
@@bmwgoesvroom sorry thought I responded here. you still having this issue even if you just try to update the firmware regardless if the controller is on when plugged in? Feel this is expected and the firmware should go through as intended.
@@lbs yeah I'm still having the same problem
@@bmwgoesvroom Sorry to hear that. Did you hit up their support? I can't remember exactly (not recent firmware updates to check how this flows on my end), but if it is asking for both the hub & wired connection to the same PC, it should just allow you to update the firmware even though the controller powers on.
Can anyone tell me if you can connect via wireless dongle to xbox?
Nope
Have you tried connecting that controller to the Steam Deck or an Android Phone/Tablet?
Don't have a stream deck but it is compatible with Android
Oh. It's cool that it works on the Android. But it's sad that it couldn't work on the IOS. Well, unless if you have a USB to Lightning adapter.
That's what my thoughts were for getting it to iOS But that sounds like an not ideal visual & experiential situation. 🤷🏾♂️good thing thing there are more and better options for this type of connection
The issue with this controller is that you have to remove the dongle to use your standar xbox controller for pc
Are you saying you're trying to use both controllers at the same time? What is that use case?
@@lbs no, the issue is that when you Raikiri pro runs out of battery you normally turn off the controller then use another controller but not the case with the raikiri you need to complete remove the RF receiver so you can use another xbix controller
If you find a way to fix that plus if you want to play local 2 player raikiri wont let you im thinking of returning the controller its a good controller but very limited option
Ahh ok. Thanks for explaining that. Will definitely post about that if I find a fix. But yea, I could see that being a drawback to some. Thanks for sharing!
This controller would have been superb if the back buttons were removable.
What's the challenge you feel w them being placed how they are?
@@lbs I prefer the option to have them available when needed. Or the ability to modify them to my level of comfort.
@Taikuken so maybe like a removable paddle option? Or buttons that could be removed/covered in some way. I get the preference for that though. Not trying to hit the back buttons on accident w a game I don't need them
@@lbs Exactly !
I was going to buy one until I heard you could only use it wired on Xbox . Lame 😒
Wouldn't the wireless dongle work with Xbox?
You would think so, but you can’t
That's absolutely absurd!
I found a way to use it without a wire on Xbox
Cuz I have a Cronus zen
😮😂 whatever works! Just stay out my lobbies please 🙏🏾
@@lbs 😂
Howd you get it to connect wirelessly?
