What prevents a lot of men from even being able to be present in the family circle, especially in parts of the Arab world is the way the economic system is set up so that salaried men have to go to another city or another country to earn the money to support their families and may spend years cut off from all other functions of manhood. The women then take on a double burden. Localisation must be the key I think after we have seen how globalisation has deprived us of so much of our spiritual and emotional well being and the vitality of our towns and districts.
Alhamdulillah, Gradually the foresightedness of Sheikh Imran Hosein is paying off. He addressed feminine revolution, economic and financial revolutions among others and stressed that they were calculated strategies as forms of Fasads in the modern age
I was lucky enough to be sent abroad to an all-boys madrasa with male teachers only. I couldn't agree more with Sheikh about the importance of the commanding presence of a male teacher for a young man. Jazakallah Khair..
This was a great lecture. Top 100 most influential human beings in history ranked by Michael H.Hart, Professor at the University of Arizona: Muhammad 1st,Isaac Newton 2nd,and Jesus 3rd. ☝️
My comment above wasn't complete,am sure am getting some gems from dis topic to help in raising d boys Insha Allah, from both our guest and brother Jalal, Jazakallahu khair
Very insightful. I was listening to your podcast with Ahmed Keeler on modernity and childhood and found the section where he speaks of women and their roles today very interesting. I was wondering if you could make a similar video like this but the women's version? Jazakallah Khair!
Jazakom Allah khayran brothers ,Walid and Jalal !! Insightful ! I think one of the solution is having conversations like you do guys !! I think the most important right now too is , We need to figure out how can we use social media in a way that reach young Muslims!!
I bet that in this video, without even watching, he did not mention that part of Manhood is the ability to prudently say 'no' to your wife and to effectively create boundaries, as a leader. That is one of the most important qualities of a patriarch, along with manners and mercy. Too many 'males' obey their wives and are covertly controlled by them. But of course, the Muslims are not ready to have this crucial sophisticated discussion and also the guest speaker does not have the fortitude to elucidate this concept.
I think he has that, it just wasn't talked about. He's talking more about the healthy development of a man in these times. A real man will listen and take his wife's opinion into consideration and either agree, disagree or come to a compromise. The lost art of communication, ha!...You have to a real relationship with your wife for it to work out in the long run. I repeat, you should have a real relationship with your wife.
@@Kuleto I agree that taking into consideration of your wife's opinion is an integral part of husband's leadership role that helps to foster the relationship. However, I am trying to make a COMPLETELY different point: the critical difference between the communication of a wife and a husband surfaces when the husband has the right to say 'no' and the wife complies. This is the ideal and uncomfortable Islamic moral chassis that people have difficulty to even muse about, let alone accept it. That is the point. This moral framework of marriage makes it a fake relationship between husband and wife? Absolutely not. You can prudently say 'no' to your wife and still your wife will love and more importantly, respect, you to death. That is the main lost art. It is not the art of communication. It is the masculine art of making your wife submit to you. In fact ,this art is so sophisticated that it cannot be elucidated through mere text. A sophisticated art is displayed and executed. This is the art of making your wife submit to you and genuinely respect you, especially in this culture where it is seen as derogatory and akin to slavery, when in reality it is a beautiful Islamic model that Allah has bestowed upon mankind. A blueprint for a functioning society. And any man who can do that is THE real man. And this controversial art my friend will not be talked about as much in this gynocentric society because men lost their manhood. As a man, I have to be the breadwinner/provider/leader in my family. Now I may complain that with today's economy (and the cultural attack on the uncomfortable part of masculinity (not the rosy part)) men are highly discouraged or disenfranchised from being an Islamically-aligned husband. However, no amount of sulking and complaining will change the objective truth that men have an important duty which cannot be abdicated from. Same principle for women as well.
Why are there so few Muslims who understand "Ghaira"? This concept is one of the most important aspects of manhood, but without understanding it, you can't truly understand manhood at all. Like many aspects of religious devotion, this challenging and abstract concept needs to be learned and studied from a young age for its meaning to be internalized. It would seem obvious that this must be the case, but is it? Could it be that there are places where people aren't taught about Ghaira? Or perhaps there are places where the religious texts that explain Ghaira aren't studied? Whatever the reason, what happens when this fundamental concept is lost? What is lost with it?
Goox interview but I was quite annoyed with Imam Dawud's excesive sprinkling of arabic into the speech. I understand arabic so its not an issue, but for someone who wouldn't this interview is not accessible. I hope next time he speaks english.

@@junayedmustofaghalib4683 Yeah, I agree. No qualms about your perspective and take here.
teach the men to see wife as blessing from allah and teach the women to respect authority of her husband/father
The latter will not be taught by these guest speakers. It is up to every individual man to do that. Every man for himself.
this doesnt help
