- One of Geometry Dash Update 2.2's main features is the addition of a new game-type: Platformer Mode, which allows the player to freely move left or right. However, this mode disable the wave and swingcopter gamemodes, which made me wonder: Is it possible to beat all of the main 22 RobTop levels in Platformer Mode?

So, in the level "Dash" there is an F-block in the first part. The thing is that it's locked to follow the player. And that means, unless you're quick, the F-block has been long gone because the triggers follow the music instead of the player.

As someone who is waiting for 2.21 because of the bugs, I take this as a win.

Also note that in platformer mode you can hit your head on the tops of blocks whereas in the scroller mode you can't. This also makes triple spikes impossible if they are under a ceiling, so I don't really know if there are any of those in levels before blast processing but those and slopes may make previous levels impossible as well.

It doesn't really make sense why the swing is not avaiable in platformer mode. It works somewhat like the jetpack.

It's actually possible to climb any default slope any distance with neutral jumps, you have to jump in the opposite direction but then turn around extremely fast to gain elevation. For 45 degree slopes its only kinda hard but for steeper slopes it requires several frame perfects
I think Platformer Wave was removed due to how buggy it was.
For those that wanna know how Wave worked in Platformer Levels, you would only move when you pressed right or left and you just kinda stayed in mid-air if you didn't do anything.
Btw, there's an option to enable all modes in platformer and force normal levels to platformer in megahack v8 alpha
not everyone has megahack, so there would be no reason to publish the level, and also no *_c o n t e n t_*

There’s a mega hack option for “platformer all modes” and “force platformer” which makes all levels platformer. wave and swing copter both work too.

5:15 you check portals by going into edit group and clicking the edp button. yea. that one.
idk why no one has this enabled but there is a setting that makes it so if you press R you restart (and Ctrl + R is full reset without checkpoints). its really helpfull

For the second swing on dash, you could’ve made the swing by using the ball plus a green orb. It’s ok you didn’t, I just think it was a wasted opportunity.

physics are different, max jump distance is a tiny bit less, everything acts like h blocks which you can hit even if you wouldnt normally die
Exists an option on Edit Group > Extras, that makes you can climb slopes, that would make all the levels easier

(For those who don’t get it: you can beat blast processing without using the ship or ufo since you can skip every portal after the 2nd wave, and the ship portal after the 1st wave, but the 1st ball and the cube at the start isn’t skippable)
Hexagon force is impossible too because of the different slopes phisics. Btw, i didn't watch the entire video yet so idk if you metioned this later, but there is something called slope boost (the demon plat level "speed tek" teaches it) that would be quite usefull in blast progressing

hey sdslayer to show portal boundaries you gotta select "EDP" in the edit group menu
You can actually be wave and swing copter in platformer mode. First step is going in platform mode and placing a wave or swing copter portal then go inside of it. Two is switch into classic mode and then go back into settings while you pause it and switch back to platform mode it will make you stay as swing or wave.

I would recommend you to do it with all levels, as I noticed some different pyshics with platformer as when I did platformer Dear [Idk how to spell it] - that 1.9 styled easy demon, the ball part with the pink pads failed
wave would be so good for platformer, you might be able to use it to make like a cursor or something for menus
the gamemodes work with the force platformer hack but they are kind hard (also i think the level has to start with the wave or swingcopter for them to work in force paltformer)
it would be cool if for the wave, instead of just adapting it to work for the previous gamemode, it would be cool if you put a gravity orb that followed the players x and y that they could trigger, and then it stopped following them at the end of the wave section

Just select the slope outlines thing go to edit object then go to extra and click gripslope it just disables sliding on slopes only for platformer
there's no wave because of bugs, u can see the weirdness on the GDPS, but i'm not sure y the swing copter isn't on 2.2

even though it doesn't make sense i used a geode mode called gamemode swapper i used that swapper to swap my gamemode to swing and platform and it worked and its playable it acts like a rocket the wave is a stop watch movement once you fly and not move you stop your movement so it does have different acts on these 2 gamemodes and also its not even that bad for swing its fun and it can make cool challenges and wave is also fun They should add those 2 gamemodes they are fun i don't even know why its not fun for RubRub

why is wave gamemode unavailable in platformer? i saw it working just fine on one of rob's stream where in order for you to go up/down, you need to also move left/right...

For the last swingcopter in dash you had a golden opportunity to use the classic swingcopter people used to use and I’m so sad you didn’t use it

pretty sure electroman adventures is impossible because in toe 2 you cant break the breakable blocks and the breakable blocks are kinda like the whole thing of electroman adventures

There's a thing called slopeboosting where you press the direction of the slope then jump and turn around
the controls for the wave when you bypass the game disallowing u from using it in platformer arent that bad tbh, hold W and a/d to go up and just press a /d to go down
The wave is grayed out because I'm pretty sure it would just be the same as the ship, but I don't know why they did the swing copter maybe It was harder to get the physics so they'll be added in a later update

This is just every robtop lvl without the wave and the new swingcopter mode, and editing it, so the lvl is possible to beat it

u can't really do it by just making it platform, u have to sort out the dash orbs and idk why but the wave and swingcopter portal dont work in platform mode so u might have to make a homemade wave mode
