I always remind myself that none of us are perfect and we can only do our best, if it's little changes to start with even they can make such a big difference. I definitely think aspects of the vegan community can be quite intense, but I would never attack someone for their food choices, just like I expect people not to attack me for mine. I think it's fantastic you gave veganuary a go, and it's so, so brilliant that you feel better within yourself. :) I went vegan three years ago for environmental reasons, and never looked back!

I use the original formula of the maybelline lash sensational and I can attest to the fact that it is amazing! Lengthens, lift, volumizes, and separates. :-)
Hi I use that waterproof mascara and I take mine off with the body shop camomile cleansing butter, the one in the tin, I rub it into my lashes then use a hot flannel, and it comes off really easily, definitely better than any duo phase Eye makeup removers and even my beloved Emma Hardie morninga balm which is ten times dearer. Nx
If you’re having a hard time with CMBYN, I would recommended the audiobook. It’s narrated by Armie Hammer and so much easier to absorb! :)

I read 'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' on a plane and I admit I laughed out loud at times and cried my eyes out at others. It's hands down one of my favourite books. I found myself relating to a lot of it too but it didn't make me feel too uneasy because it's written in a way that isn't really didactic, despite dealing with serious issues, but on the contrary is hopeful and makes light of life in just the right amount.
On another note, I could not finish 'Call me by your name', either. Maybe my hopes were too high, and you're right in saying it tends to go on and on sometimes with no particular focus (so does the film). Did not enjoy the film either apart from the idyllic setting and music. Even though it's a "coming of age" film, I guess, felt like it romanticised certain things too much, which is not my cup of tea...and I never felt like the two had a real deep connection, but that is just my opinion.
Please do more book related videos, Alix! Your thoughts were really genuine and I loved hearing them.

Lately I've been trying to wear less make up, so basically all I put on most days is a bit of highlighter in strategic places and then the waterproof lash sensational (after curling my lashes). I am quite happy with the way it looks on me, although the pain of washing it off makes me question if it's worth it xD I really like the non-waterproof version (the "instense black" one though). I've read The Miniaturist two years ago and I remember having a similiar reaction to yours. If you liked it, try reading Essie Fox'es "The Somnambulist". Last night I finished reading "Still Me" by Jojo Moyes. I loved her previous installments: "Me Before You" and "After You", and the third book... gave me all the feels, as always.
I accidentally bought the waterproof version of the maybelline mascara and it takes forever to come off. The original one has the same effect as the waterproof one and is by far easier to remove.

If you like the Kevyn Aucoin eye lash curler you should try the Surratt Beauty one. It takes curling lashes to even a higher level.
I read annihilation and it made me so uneasy and I read a lot of horror and it never seems to affect me! Have not finished the trilogy yet although I really want to! I think they are making a movie of it now!xx

BBC did an adaptation of The Miniaturist over Christmas period I'd really recommend watching I enjoyed it a lot 💜
I loved hearing your thoughts on Call Me By Your Name - I really struggled with this one. Everyone was raving about the beauty of the writing etc. that I was desperate to pick it up, but it really felt like a disappointment to me. Like you said, some of the passages was so lyrical that it took my breath away but I genuinely really disliked the story. I thought Elio and Oliver's relationship was unhealthy and obsessive and I really didn't agree with how it was, almost, encouraged. I also felt as though some of the sexual relations between the two were just far too much - I'll admit I'm not normally a romance reader so reading such explicit sex isn't usually my thing, but I just felt as though the innocence of a first-time, gay relationship was completely stripped because of them. Would love to know your thoughts once you finish, and will give your GoodReads a follow!

I’ve used about 5-6 of these Maybelline mascaras, not the waterproof ones, but the ones in the pink packaging (not the black packaging). There is normal black and extra black, I think it’s called, and those are both absolutely great. They’re amazing, using it since they came out. They just need a few days to dry out a bit and then they get even better. Separate each lash and gives both length and volume ;) So if you struggle with the waterproof one, try the others! ;)

Idk if you've read them, but you should give Jonathan Safran-Foer's books a shot! I'd start with "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" and then read "Everything is Illuminated." I know they're marketed toward YA readers, but they're honestly some of the most beautiful books I've ever read (and I'm a classicist, so I literally read for a living), and I think you'd appreciate them.
Hi Alix! :) The Maybelline Lash Sensational - the non-waterproof formula - in Intense Black has been my all time favourite mascara for years now - it is the most trustworthy mascara for me. I have oily skin and therefore mascaras tend to end up on my eyelids after a few hours but this one doesn't. It is also very longlasting, it NEVER flakes off and it is very black indeed. I think you should try it, I bet it holds the curl just as well as the waterproof version. The original formula is still quite hard to remove (although I think it's easier than the waterproof one) but I don't care. It gives you the most beautiful separated and volumized lashes on planet Earth and I just love it ;)
Hello! I just discovered your channel by seeing a video of yours from Dec. 2016. You are strikingly beautiful. I am intrigued by you because I also have dry, very fair skin - similar to yours. May I ask: Do you prefer cool or warm tones for your makeup? I’ve got a neutral skin tone, and I can’t make up my mind. I am a ginger, so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I am American, so obviously I have a mixed ancestry, though my mother’s father’s family is pure Scottish. Those are the genes that are most prominent on me. I do have brown eyes, though, because my mother’s mother’s family is Cherokee Native American. (On my dad’s side, I’m German-Palestinian Jewish.) I don’t know why I told you all that. I just wanted to describe my features so that I could get your opinion. I hope that makes sense. Cheers!
Hi Alix, have you tried Benefit Rollerlash mascara? Same curved wand, blooming incredible length and volume and NOT waterproof. I just stumbled upon it and have been hooked for nearly two years now - nothing compares. Give it a shot 😘
I watched the BBC adaptation of the Miniaturist over Christmas. I went into it blind, and it was different to what I though it would it be, but I still enjoyed it. The ending got me too...so sad!

The Maybelline lash sensational (original formula) is the BEST mascara ever, I'll never stray from it! But I hate the waterproof formula I had panda eyes the whole time I used it because it's so hard to get off, but yeah try the original formula!

The non waterproof lash sensation is amazing, I use it daily over all my high end ones, I use the waterproof now and again for extra curl power. I feel like that mascara gets even better as it drys xx
I use the non waterproof version of the mascara and it is really really good! Holds the curl better than some waterproof mascaras. You should really try it! :)
The only waterproof eye makeup remover that easily removes Maybelline waterproof mascaras is the L’oréal Clean Artiste Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover (the one in the green bottle). I’ve tried almost all the waterproof eye makeup removers out there from Lancôme to Neutrogena but the L’oréal one is the only one I’ve been satisfied with. HOWEVER, I’ve recently started focusing on massaging my cleansing oil into my lashes while I double cleanse and OH MY LORD it removes around 90% of my waterproof/olive oil/life proof Maybelline waterproof mascara and I only need to spend another 30 seconds cleaning up my lashes with my eye makeup remover and all my mascara is completely gone. Gone are the days where ten lashes fall out every night from removing my mascara.

My favorite thing has been homemade ginger tea with fresh lemon. I started making it because of a cold kinda like medicine but now i love it 😊 you are my haircut/hairstyle inspo since you had it short(er). Trying to perfect the messy waves look atm 😋 xx

Non waterproof maybeline lash sensational mascara is every bit as good! Ive gone through about 6 of them. I think its the Best mascara out there

Does cutting out animal products mean you have to quit buying luxurious leather bags too? Please don't take it offensive. I'm just curious and asking. Sorry in advance if this makes you feel uncomfortable.
Cutting out animal products is referred to as a plant based diet, whereas veganism refers to a lifestyle where you don't eat animal products or use leather/animal goods
And true veganism is pretty much impossible to achieve. A lot of medicines contain animal products and I think you’d be silly to not take a prescribed or recommended medication because of veganism and even most vegans can agree with that.
Have you tried the Shu Uemera eyelash curler? I used to use that before changing to Kevin Aukoin and think its better
