Summer in Iceland: Snowstorms in June
Вставка

- Officially, summer should have started in Iceland on April 25 - a national holiday celebrating the first day of summer! But now, in June, winter has returned to Iceland in full force.
On June 5, Art and Alina travelled to Akureyri to witness an unusual summer storm that unexpectedly hit the North and East of Iceland, blanketing the landscapes with snow and ice just as they were eagerly awaiting summer. Officials issued weather warnings days before the low-pressure front arrived, which helped avoid any major incidents. While snow in June is not that uncommon in Iceland, the duration of this storm is exceptional.

Enjoying your videos. Please make these a weekly feature. You are doing a great job. Art’s filming is Wonderful as always. Can’t go wrong with Art behind the camera. 🎥 ❤👍🏼
Thank you! You're right - Art is the best! 📸😊
Really enjoying these. Starting to remind me of Reykjavik Grapevine when Valur Grettisson was editor.
Seems like all the Grapevine folks went over to Iceland Review.
I agree wholeheartedly. Also reminding me of Valur’s newscasts.
I was in Iceland that period! Lots of snow!😄 ( and I loved it!)
Thank you Very much indded ❤
You’re doing an amazing job! I’m a huge Iceland fan and I find your videos very informative and you are fun to watch. Keep at this and you will have many subscribers.
Thank you! 😊
A great report with lovely pictures from the fine town of Akureyri.
Thank you for this report. My daughter mentioned:”Even the Icelanders won’t get there classic cars on the road by such a weather.” Obviously, she was wrong!
Yes, yes! I admit it. 😁
I really enjoy your excellent reporting.
I was in Iceland June 3 through 12 and experienced this weather first hand. Road to Dettifoss was closed but otherwise added to a memorable trip.
There is always something unexpectedly happening in Iceland! 🇮🇸
I have been following the news on Iceland Review regularly for several years, but this new presentation is much nicer. So you gain one more subscriber 😍 Áfram Alína og Art! 😊

Another great video - thank you. I haven't had a liquorice allsort in years but will have to buy some now after seeing the Christmas house.

Wait, did you say the ship that got loose in Neskaupstaður is named “Baldur”? Loki did it for sure…
Pity you didn’t get to enjoy a lap of Akureyri filming from the back of that muscle car!
Hi what about the weather forecast for the east and the north? I know that longtime forecast is not as reliable as a 3 days prediction. I will come to Egilsstaðir on July 6th an then drive along the east coast to the north. Hope weather will get much more better
Keeping our fingers crossed that the weather will be great when you're here! There is no way to predict the weather, but speaking from experience - as we've had this extreme and unusual weather event now in the North and East, it is unlikely that it will happen again soon 😊 We are also eagerly awaiting summer! 🌞
Look's like 'more Global Warming'.
you mean climate change ?
you do understand the difference between climate and weather do you?
@@bananenbrot958do you? Lol
Climate is always changing. It's called an interglacial period.
This is why “climate change” became the preferred nomenclature decades ago. Try to keep up, Mike. If you don’t think the weather is more extreme now all around the world then you must be living in your own universe.
@@frajoladellagato More extreme compared to what time period? You know about ice ages right?
