he was a person who helped so many children hospitals and children. This was shown on MTV cribs when they were still married. There was a FAKE (manequins) ticket guy, stand booth people and audience members. It sounds odd describing it but it wasn’t weird when they placed it into context. With Michael, his collection was mostly memorabilia and images of his family.

I do not & never felt badly for MJ because he was lonely. Self imposed recluse like Elvis. Attention seeking strange behavior. I never believed MJ was a pedo however the 2 accusers passed lie detectors. Even if true I blame the parents of these kids because they were clearly looking for financial help & using MJ.
But unless you know everything that influenced his reclusiveness, you can’t really comment. I imagine you grew up being allowed the freedoms of a normal childhood. You probably went to school, grasped the social skills which enabled to to make friends and matured at your own pace. Michael didn’t have those luxuries. He was performing almost from the time he was able to walk. His father was a bully who used to physically abuse his wife and his children, and if you have difficulty trusting the one person you are meant to be able to rely on for love and support, you grow up unable to trust many of the outside world. That’s why the stage was Michael’s home; where he truly felt free. I’ve only experienced 1% of the turmoil he went through and sometimes even I want to withdraw from the rest of the world. So when you’re the biggest celebrity and most photographed person on the planet, it’s no wonder he interacted with the outside world as little as he did.

I do not & never felt badly for MJ because he was lonely. Self imposed recluse like Elvis. Attention seeking strange behavior. I never believed MJ was a pedo however the 2 accusers passed lie detectors. Even if true I blame the parents of these kids because they were clearly looking for financial help & using MJ.
But unless you know everything that influenced his reclusiveness, you can’t really comment. I imagine you grew up being allowed the freedoms of a normal childhood. You probably went to school, grasped the social skills which enabled to to make friends and matured at your own pace. Michael didn’t have those luxuries. He was performing almost from the time he was able to walk. His father was a bully who used to physically abuse his wife and his children, and if you have difficulty trusting the one person you are meant to be able to rely on for love and support, you grow up unable to trust many of the outside world. That’s why the stage was Michael’s home; where he truly felt free.
I’ve only experienced 1% of the turmoil he went through and sometimes even I want to withdraw from the rest of the world. So when you’re the biggest celebrity and most photographed person on the planet, it’s no wonder he interacted with the outside world as little as he did.
Matt Phelan you make valid points regarding socializing and freedom however the strange behavior along with acting like a child is suspect. It strikes me as attention seeking when he could have curbed making his strange public. Appearances. Celebrities can control much of their public exposure. I live in NYC and I’ve seen huge stars walking the streets. Paul McCartney Robert Deniro Al Pacino Heath Ledger. Barbra Streisand. In restaurants in Barney’s. All over. No crowds no paparazzi. I saw Jackie Onassis in Grand Central Station just walking through. He craved the spotlight yet complained about it. Cannot deny MJ was one of the best entertainers of all time.
@NYC girl - I think you really don’t grasp the full scope of MJ’s life and magnitude of his star. From the time he was in elementary school he was a huge star, sheltered from the world- not by choice. Instant mobs on the street if he and his brothers were spotted. If you live in NY you live a different experience from the rest of the world. It’s true many celebrities can walk the streets without getting mobbed there but not even MJ could walk streets in NY. The stars you mention are great people but don’t have the same level of fan base as MJ. To think he was simply a self imposed recluse tells me you not old enough to know his career history and basing your opinions on the sensationalized news bits.
@@jonathanparham6738 The truth lies somewhere in the middle. How could I relate to MJ..I can't. I feel he attracted more negative attention by behaving so strange. MJ was a phenomenal talent in a class of his own. The more I read about him I learned of his friendships with all different kinds of people. MJ couldn't trust anyone & I feel this is the saddest part of his life. I listened to an interview with Barry Gibb & Barry said MJ always felt someone was out to get him so they could take his music. He warned all the Gibb brothers about this. Thank you for the polite exchange of ideas as this is rare on YT these days.
